Howdy Bloggers~ Today we will be making something so easy that even your 5 year old can make!!! Really, I had a blast doing this and I know you will too~
The Ingredients are:
~ Scissors ( I used a pair that gave it a fun crafty edge)
I will be using some of the permanent fine tip markers that BIC
Thanks again for sponsoring me!
First thing you will do is get out your sheets of construction paper. I used a cream color but you can use whatever color you want. I tried a couple of bright colors but the white allowed my numbers to really stand out!
You will fold your sheet in half. Then fold that half in half. I did this step 3 times. I wanted to make sure my squares would be large enough for my stencils, so don’t do them too small.
After you unfold your construction paper you will see the lines in the paper. This will be used as a guide to cut with your scissors. Just simply cut along the lines and edges. If you don’t have crafty scissors like I have used, regular ones will do just fine!
When you are done cutting out 25 squares you will get your stencils out. I dug out my stencil sheet from high-school! I can’t believe I still have it. I love the simplicity of the numbers shown below.
For my first one I used a red marker and once I removed the stencil I traced the number with a black marker. I also added a couple of dots to spice it up.
Below is what my numbers looked like once I was done with all 25. I used a variety of colors to make them bright and fun.
After you are done with all of your numbers you will get out your twine. If you don’t have twine you can use yarn or anything else you can think of. I like the twine because it has a subtle effect which lets the colored numbers POP.
I did not measure an exact amount. I just tied one end to where I was putting it and strung it across to the other side and tied. Yours may be different due to the size of squares you cut out.
When done, you will take a clothespin and clip the numbers onto the twine you have just hung. I found it was easiest to do the 1 then 25, 2 then 24, 3 then 23 etc…
A cute, simple, easy, kid friendly craft for your home (or workspace).
You will just take off each number a day starting with 25.
