Martha Stewart Countdown #30 Witch Silhouette Pumpkin

Can you believe last night was the first time we had a chance to carve pumpkins! I ran across this witch template on Martha Stewart’s website and though I needed to do this. I love carving into linoleum so this seemed really fun plus I have never used a linoleum cutter to carve a pumpkin in my life! Let me tell you that if you want to try something different, do this! It gives off the best light and it looks so simple and elegant. Gives a different feel compared to the typical “holes” in a pumpkin.
Let’s get started!!! Hope you don’t mind that I share a little bit of the pumpkin carving night!
Yes, we love LSU! I mean we are from the south! Here are the pumpkins! See the white one? That is mine! The one with glitter on it is from one of my 100 days of Martha! Click HERE if you want to see the whole post.

Yummy!!! A pumpkin mouth!
What you want to do first is print out the template for the witch. I attached a link below for you.  Then use a ice pick to outline the image by making dots. This will make it a lot easier for you to carve and shave the pumpkin.
This is what my pumpkin looked like after I dotted it all up! I actually like it just like this.  Our lovely bonfire to make the night cozier.
You want to start by “shaving” with the linoleum cutter the areas that are light orange. Feel free to do more!  Oh, I did the other side of my pumpkin with jaderbomb on it!!!
I wanted to share with you my little nugget’s pumpkin. She did CEAUX CEAUX!!!!
OH! And we lit some sparklers to add to the festivities!
Tadahh… Sorry if they look blurry. I had to turn my flash off  so you could see it lit up. How cute! I LOVE the witch!
Ceaux Ceaux loved her little baby pumpkin. Her and her silly tongue.  She always has that baby out!
Ahh…. So elegant and majestic, right! She is silly! But we love her to pieces! I hope you enjoyed this craft! And if you want to do one for tonight and you don’t have a cutter, you can get one at your local craft store!!! Michael’s usually has anything you are looking for… Check Walmart! Oh and if you do a pumpkin and your light does not show through good, shave off more of the inside with a scraper (or a spoon). You might have to make the pumpkin thinner in the area you are carving.
Sending you all the pumpkin shavings that Ceaux Ceaux ate all night long,
Jaderbomb

Martha Stewart Countdown #29 Spider-Dog Pet Costume

Happy Sunday my little Jaderbugs! It is the day before Halloween and I am posting Ceaux Ceaux’s Halloween costume. I meant to post it a lot earlier but I have been having alot of things going on which sometimes causes crafts to go on the back burner! I know! Your prolly thinking, what is she thinking! She is not allowed to have any excuse! But in my defense, you have to have a life in order to blog! So, just think of it as me getting material and inspiration for you!
Just wait till you see this costume. It is absolutely the cutest thing ever and I want her to wear it every day. Ceaux Ceaux however does NOT seem to love it. Let’s get to crafting!
You will start by downloading the template on Martha Stewart’s website. (link below)
Don’t forget to get your black and orange felt! Once you cut out your template designs  place them on your fabric to get ready for the next step!
Get your scissors and some chalk!!
Take your chalk and trace around the template. Cut the designs out.
Place them together and sew, leaving a little slit for you to turn them inside out.  (put the good sides of fabric facing each other before you sew) Tadahhhh!!!
Fill each nugget up then sew the slit SHUT!
Next thing you want to do is sew the legs onto the center piece. I just used a needle and thread for this part.  I used an outfit I made for Ceaux Ceaux last year but you can use a plain dog tshirt in whatever color you want!
Look how cute this baby is! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I didn’t expect it to be this cute for some reason!
Ceaux Ceaux is so funny! She has my personality and you know it! She totally didn’t want to take this picture and she kept looking up! She’s like her mother!!! Look how cute it is just sitting on her back!!
She kept running away from me and I was just chasing her like a crazy mom!
SERIOUSLY. Is this not the CRAZIEST picture you have ever seen!!! SO NOT PLANNED!
She was yawning and I just clicked away. Totally perfect! I think this means she loved the costume so much she wanted to make a great face! What do you think! Post comments below, co loves comments!
Sending you dog’s smiling or dog’s looking fierce,

Martha Stewart Countdown #28 Beverage Labels

Well it’s almost time to get all dressed up in our costumes and turn into something other than who we {really} are! I will be posing quite a few things in the next 2 days. Mainly last minute things you can do to dress up your house for a party or just to decorate for the trick or treaters!
These beverage labels are available at Michaels craft store or you can order them. Listen, you know I love glitter. You should see these suckers. They have the prettiest shades of glitter in them! {dancing to metric while writing this}…They are on major sale right now because they need to get rid of the Halloween stuff.
So let’s get to this fun craft!
My body is dancing so much right now I think I will have trouble writing {{teeeheheh}}
Wanna know what I am listening to???? Click HERE
I just used old wine bottles that I had.
Look how pretty these babies are!
I used tape to secure them onto the bottles. Double sided tape works the best!
I used martha stewart twine to dress up the neck of the bottle.
Tadahhhhhhhh! See! Totally dresses up the whole situation here1
THIS IS A NEW SET OF LABLES
I went and dug out my old vintage brown medicine bottles. I figured they would go perfect with these labels!
See! Don’t you agree! I left some with out labels to give it a twist! They bottles make them look really scary!!
I think it totally dressed up my shelf!
I hope everyone has a great time this weekend! Remember, don’t drink and drive!
Sending you bloody fangs to wear all weekend,

Martha Stewart Countdown #27 Halloween Hang-Ups

Wow! Where has the day gone? Lately I feel like I am a real “live” zombie! I typically am up till the weeee hours preparing posts for the next couple of days. I try to stay on track but hey, you know how life is! Some day’s there are more important things than blogging! Can you believe I just said that! I love what I do but this lil project is surely teaching me some things about myself! For example, I didn’t know having a deadline on my blog was gonna make me drink 8 Dr. Pepper’s a day. It’s not my fault. It’s the blogs fault. Did I mention coffee? ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF COFFEE! Don’t let me fool you though, because I couldn’t imagine my life in the slow lane! Remember my post earlier today? I’m ADD {{ i think, never been tested}} so I need FAST!
Let’s get to crafting before I start drooling on my computer!

You will need Martha Stewart’s designer paper pad (Halloween), glue gun, paper cutter, and scissors

I used a orange glitter sheet from the pack. Then I cut the sheet into four squares

I simply folded each four sheets into little mini accordion shapes. To make the accordion  you will just fold the sheets back and forth until it’s complete.
I used two different Martha Stewart punches for the eyes! If you don’t have punches you can absolutely use scissors and just cut a circle out!

I decided to have a background for my pumpkin so I grabbed another sheet out of the paper pad and punched all around the edges with the spider web puncher! I have links at the bottom to all the products I used!

Seriously! How awesome is this!

I just placed the pumpkin in the middle of sheet and glued it down. I then put it on top of a frame that I built out of old cypress wood!

This baby came out soooo good! I can’t wait to make Christmas ornaments just like this!
Oh yes! Get ready for CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you  enjoyed this craft Jaderbugs!
Sending you droopy eyes that are dreaming about sheep dressed in glitter,

Martha Stewart Countdown #26 Crepe-Paper Curtains

Ohhh Myyyy Pumpkin Head!
It’s almost Halloween! I can’t wait to do all kinds of fun things this weekend! What are all my Jaderbugs up to? I still have not decided what I will be for Halloween! I will let little one decide for me! Ceaux Ceaux’s costume will be posted later on today so you HAVE to stay tuned! It’s SO cute! Remember I told you yesterday how I went to a pumpkin patch! Wait till you see my pumpkin. It’s the prettiest little thing I have ever seen. I’ll give you a hint, it’s ______!!!
{{teehehe}}
I have to tell you what happened to me yesterday. While I was paying for my pumpkins the lady behind the counter was like, you were on Martha Stewart. She saw my name on something and I guess she remembered. That was the craziest thing because I was not expecting it. I felt proud! That’s it. Did I get you all excited? I wish it was more. I wish she would have said, “hey you can have allll the pumpkins you want”.  But I paid my hard earned money for them and that felt good!
This craft was so much fun to make. I think I say that about every single craft right! Guess that means it’s my passion. In the middle of the project I started thinking about doing this for different holidays and my mind just took off! I think my mind does that with EVERY craft. I think I am ADD. That’s ok!
Who’s ready to get started?
You will need crepe paper, curtain rod, tape & scissors.

You can measure the length of the window you are putting them on and cut pieces accordingly.  After you cut your piece you will fold the end over the rod.

After the first layer is on you need to scrunch each strip. This gives it an old look.

This is only ONE layer.

After your first layer you need to keep adding more to fill in spaces/gaps that are showing.

Once you are happy with the thickness of it you can now start trimming the strips to your desired length. I made some longer than others so it looks ripped. Remember, this is your craft so you can do it any way you choose to.
This is what your final project should look like! I hope you had fun making it!

Sending you so much crepe paper you can wrap you house in it,
jaderbomb

Martha Stewart Countdown #25 Bat Tissue-Paper Garland

I am feeling quite batty I tell ya!
Batterrr-reeee operated…
Battttterrr- up…..
Battttylicious…
You get it right! Let me just tell you how long it took me to do this little craft! Pretty much like 4 tries. I wasted so much tissue paper it wasn’t even funny! I will explain what NOT to do in just a bit so don’t go anywhere!
I had a awesome day! I went to a pumpkin patch and had SOOOO much fun! I never saw so many pumpkins with “warts” all over them! Do pumpkins have warts? {lol}… You know warts are so hard to get rid of! In the South we have what’s called a Traiteurtraiteur is Cajun healer. Go ahead and click the link, it’s so interesting! We take healers very serious and you can find a healer for just about anything! So, if you have warts send me an email and we can get that taken care of!
Let’s get to crafting!

All I used is a BAT cookie cutter.
Some tissue paper! You can use any color but black looks good for a BAT!
You should already have creases in your tissue paper so let’s use them to our advantage. Take about 3 sheets and fold them the way they came in the package.
Then take your cookie cutter (remember you can use any shape you have) and trace it onto the tissue paper. It’s OK if your image goes off of the paper. THIS is the part that got me! When you are cutting the shape out you want to make sure and leave a bit of uncut fold at both ends so the figures can connect to each other.

You will end up with a couple of strings. Simply tape them together to make one long one! Jaderbugs, it’s THAT easy! Can you believe it!
And this my friends is what I used mine for. I know Martha uses hers as real garland but I wanted to put them flat on a some wood. I needed a little choppy-ness above my sink and this did the trick! See all of my rocks above my sink! LOVE ROCKS! I take them from all over the world! Unless I am not supposed to!

Sending you bags full of rocks,
jaderbomb
