Martha Stewart Countdown #30 Witch Silhouette Pumpkin

Can you believe last night was the first time we had a chance to carve pumpkins! I ran across this witch template on Martha Stewart’s website and though I needed to do this. I love carving into linoleum so this seemed really fun plus I have never used a linoleum cutter to carve a pumpkin in my life! Let me tell you that if you want to try something different, do this! It gives off the best light and it looks so simple and elegant. Gives a different feel compared to the typical “holes” in a pumpkin.
Let’s get started!!! Hope you don’t mind that I share a little bit of the pumpkin carving night!
Yes, we love LSU! I mean we are from the south! Here are the pumpkins! See the white one? That is mine! The one with glitter on it is from one of my 100 days of Martha! Click HERE if you want to see the whole post.

Yummy!!! A pumpkin mouth!
What you want to do first is print out the template for the witch. I attached a link below for you.  Then use a ice pick to outline the image by making dots. This will make it a lot easier for you to carve and shave the pumpkin.
This is what my pumpkin looked like after I dotted it all up! I actually like it just like this.  Our lovely bonfire to make the night cozier.
You want to start by “shaving” with the linoleum cutter the areas that are light orange. Feel free to do more!  Oh, I did the other side of my pumpkin with jaderbomb on it!!!
I wanted to share with you my little nugget’s pumpkin. She did CEAUX CEAUX!!!!
OH! And we lit some sparklers to add to the festivities!
Tadahh… Sorry if they look blurry. I had to turn my flash off  so you could see it lit up. How cute! I LOVE the witch!
Ceaux Ceaux loved her little baby pumpkin. Her and her silly tongue.  She always has that baby out!
Ahh…. So elegant and majestic, right! She is silly! But we love her to pieces! I hope you enjoyed this craft! And if you want to do one for tonight and you don’t have a cutter, you can get one at your local craft store!!! Michael’s usually has anything you are looking for… Check Walmart! Oh and if you do a pumpkin and your light does not show through good, shave off more of the inside with a scraper (or a spoon). You might have to make the pumpkin thinner in the area you are carving.
Sending you all the pumpkin shavings that Ceaux Ceaux ate all night long,
Jaderbomb

Martha Stewart Countdown #29 Spider-Dog Pet Costume

Happy Sunday my little Jaderbugs! It is the day before Halloween and I am posting Ceaux Ceaux’s Halloween costume. I meant to post it a lot earlier but I have been having alot of things going on which sometimes causes crafts to go on the back burner! I know! Your prolly thinking, what is she thinking! She is not allowed to have any excuse! But in my defense, you have to have a life in order to blog! So, just think of it as me getting material and inspiration for you!
Just wait till you see this costume. It is absolutely the cutest thing ever and I want her to wear it every day. Ceaux Ceaux however does NOT seem to love it. Let’s get to crafting!
You will start by downloading the template on Martha Stewart’s website. (link below)
Don’t forget to get your black and orange felt! Once you cut out your template designs  place them on your fabric to get ready for the next step!
Get your scissors and some chalk!!
Take your chalk and trace around the template. Cut the designs out.
Place them together and sew, leaving a little slit for you to turn them inside out.  (put the good sides of fabric facing each other before you sew) Tadahhhh!!!
Fill each nugget up then sew the slit SHUT!
Next thing you want to do is sew the legs onto the center piece. I just used a needle and thread for this part.  I used an outfit I made for Ceaux Ceaux last year but you can use a plain dog tshirt in whatever color you want!
Look how cute this baby is! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I didn’t expect it to be this cute for some reason!
Ceaux Ceaux is so funny! She has my personality and you know it! She totally didn’t want to take this picture and she kept looking up! She’s like her mother!!! Look how cute it is just sitting on her back!!
She kept running away from me and I was just chasing her like a crazy mom!
SERIOUSLY. Is this not the CRAZIEST picture you have ever seen!!! SO NOT PLANNED!
She was yawning and I just clicked away. Totally perfect! I think this means she loved the costume so much she wanted to make a great face! What do you think! Post comments below, co loves comments!
Sending you dog’s smiling or dog’s looking fierce,

Martha Stewart Countdown #28 Beverage Labels

Well it’s almost time to get all dressed up in our costumes and turn into something other than who we {really} are! I will be posing quite a few things in the next 2 days. Mainly last minute things you can do to dress up your house for a party or just to decorate for the trick or treaters!
These beverage labels are available at Michaels craft store or you can order them. Listen, you know I love glitter. You should see these suckers. They have the prettiest shades of glitter in them! {dancing to metric while writing this}…They are on major sale right now because they need to get rid of the Halloween stuff.
So let’s get to this fun craft!
My body is dancing so much right now I think I will have trouble writing {{teeeheheh}}
Wanna know what I am listening to???? Click HERE
I just used old wine bottles that I had.
Look how pretty these babies are!
I used tape to secure them onto the bottles. Double sided tape works the best!
I used martha stewart twine to dress up the neck of the bottle.
Tadahhhhhhhh! See! Totally dresses up the whole situation here1
THIS IS A NEW SET OF LABLES
I went and dug out my old vintage brown medicine bottles. I figured they would go perfect with these labels!
See! Don’t you agree! I left some with out labels to give it a twist! They bottles make them look really scary!!
I think it totally dressed up my shelf!
I hope everyone has a great time this weekend! Remember, don’t drink and drive!
Sending you bloody fangs to wear all weekend,

Martha Stewart Countdown #27 Halloween Hang-Ups

Wow! Where has the day gone? Lately I feel like I am a real “live” zombie! I typically am up till the weeee hours preparing posts for the next couple of days. I try to stay on track but hey, you know how life is! Some day’s there are more important things than blogging! Can you believe I just said that! I love what I do but this lil project is surely teaching me some things about myself! For example, I didn’t know having a deadline on my blog was gonna make me drink 8 Dr. Pepper’s a day. It’s not my fault. It’s the blogs fault. Did I mention coffee? ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF COFFEE! Don’t let me fool you though, because I couldn’t imagine my life in the slow lane! Remember my post earlier today? I’m ADD {{ i think, never been tested}} so I need FAST!
Let’s get to crafting before I start drooling on my computer!

You will need Martha Stewart’s designer paper pad (Halloween), glue gun, paper cutter, and scissors

I used a orange glitter sheet from the pack. Then I cut the sheet into four squares

I simply folded each four sheets into little mini accordion shapes. To make the accordion  you will just fold the sheets back and forth until it’s complete.
I used two different Martha Stewart punches for the eyes! If you don’t have punches you can absolutely use scissors and just cut a circle out!

I decided to have a background for my pumpkin so I grabbed another sheet out of the paper pad and punched all around the edges with the spider web puncher! I have links at the bottom to all the products I used!

Seriously! How awesome is this!

I just placed the pumpkin in the middle of sheet and glued it down. I then put it on top of a frame that I built out of old cypress wood!

This baby came out soooo good! I can’t wait to make Christmas ornaments just like this!
Oh yes! Get ready for CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you  enjoyed this craft Jaderbugs!
Sending you droopy eyes that are dreaming about sheep dressed in glitter,

Martha Stewart Countdown #26 Crepe-Paper Curtains

Ohhh Myyyy Pumpkin Head!
It’s almost Halloween! I can’t wait to do all kinds of fun things this weekend! What are all my Jaderbugs up to? I still have not decided what I will be for Halloween! I will let little one decide for me! Ceaux Ceaux’s costume will be posted later on today so you HAVE to stay tuned! It’s SO cute! Remember I told you yesterday how I went to a pumpkin patch! Wait till you see my pumpkin. It’s the prettiest little thing I have ever seen. I’ll give you a hint, it’s ______!!!
{{teehehe}}
I have to tell you what happened to me yesterday. While I was paying for my pumpkins the lady behind the counter was like, you were on Martha Stewart. She saw my name on something and I guess she remembered. That was the craziest thing because I was not expecting it. I felt proud! That’s it. Did I get you all excited? I wish it was more. I wish she would have said, “hey you can have allll the pumpkins you want”.  But I paid my hard earned money for them and that felt good!
This craft was so much fun to make. I think I say that about every single craft right! Guess that means it’s my passion. In the middle of the project I started thinking about doing this for different holidays and my mind just took off! I think my mind does that with EVERY craft. I think I am ADD. That’s ok!
Who’s ready to get started?
You will need crepe paper, curtain rod, tape & scissors.

You can measure the length of the window you are putting them on and cut pieces accordingly.  After you cut your piece you will fold the end over the rod.

After the first layer is on you need to scrunch each strip. This gives it an old look.

This is only ONE layer.

After your first layer you need to keep adding more to fill in spaces/gaps that are showing.

Once you are happy with the thickness of it you can now start trimming the strips to your desired length. I made some longer than others so it looks ripped. Remember, this is your craft so you can do it any way you choose to.
This is what your final project should look like! I hope you had fun making it!

Sending you so much crepe paper you can wrap you house in it,
jaderbomb

Martha Stewart Countdown #25 Bat Tissue-Paper Garland

I am feeling quite batty I tell ya!
Batterrr-reeee operated…
Battttterrr- up…..
Battttylicious…
You get it right! Let me just tell you how long it took me to do this little craft! Pretty much like 4 tries. I wasted so much tissue paper it wasn’t even funny! I will explain what NOT to do in just a bit so don’t go anywhere!
I had a awesome day! I went to a pumpkin patch and had SOOOO much fun! I never saw so many pumpkins with “warts” all over them! Do pumpkins have warts? {lol}… You know warts are so hard to get rid of! In the South we have what’s called a Traiteurtraiteur is Cajun healer. Go ahead and click the link, it’s so interesting! We take healers very serious and you can find a healer for just about anything! So, if you have warts send me an email and we can get that taken care of!
Let’s get to crafting!

All I used is a BAT cookie cutter.
Some tissue paper! You can use any color but black looks good for a BAT!
You should already have creases in your tissue paper so let’s use them to our advantage. Take about 3 sheets and fold them the way they came in the package.
Then take your cookie cutter (remember you can use any shape you have) and trace it onto the tissue paper. It’s OK if your image goes off of the paper. THIS is the part that got me! When you are cutting the shape out you want to make sure and leave a bit of uncut fold at both ends so the figures can connect to each other.

You will end up with a couple of strings. Simply tape them together to make one long one! Jaderbugs, it’s THAT easy! Can you believe it!
And this my friends is what I used mine for. I know Martha uses hers as real garland but I wanted to put them flat on a some wood. I needed a little choppy-ness above my sink and this did the trick! See all of my rocks above my sink! LOVE ROCKS! I take them from all over the world! Unless I am not supposed to!

Sending you bags full of rocks,
jaderbomb

Behind the scenes at MARTHA STEWART!!!

Happy whatever day it is my little Jaderbugs! I have to tell ya, I am lost when it comes to days. I am sitting here writing this post and I have a new glade candle burning on my desk and lemme tell you how good this baby smells! I think it’s a new scent. I will make sure and tweet about it because it’s a MUST have. This is also the time I get to “watch” all the shows I miss during the day.  I am watching Martha learn how to make noodles! How {{ironic}} right! Writing about her, watching her, I might as well change my name too! Lemme text her and ask her what she’s doing. You think she is burning a glade candle? I wonder if she HAD to choose a glade candle which one she would choose! I would say something “lilacky” (I know, that’s not really a word)…
So I will just tell you now that this post will INDEED be very long. Typically I don’t have this many pictures but this is a special occasion.  I did write a post sorta talking about my experience that day and if you click HERE you can get to it!  I also wrote a post about a particular song playing during a commercial break and you can get to it HERE.
So here goes nothing. If you ever wondered what went on in Martha Stewart’s studio/offices here ya go!
I hope you enjoy the “tour”. I couldn’t show ALLLLL my pictures but I surely gave you a good preview!
This is on W 26th St in New York. I can’t tell you how exciting it was to walk up and see this. I literally had to “take” in the moment because it was surreal. I got to go in “UNDER” the MARTHA sign.
So when I walked in under the MARTHA sign I got greeted by smiling faces from EVERYONE! They were all so nice! Me and my dad even got real name tags! I felt so special I tell ya!
Yes! This was my own name tag!
Once I got to the first room I was in they brought us breakfast! It was everything I imagined Martha feeding me. {that did not sound good teeheheh}…. lemme tell you that the blueberries were fresh! I think they came from her yard. They tasted like a Martha grown blueberry.
This is my friend Erica Miles!! She did my hair and lemme tell you I got SO MANY complements on it! She is a celebrity make up artist and you can see her site HERE
This was me sitting in the make up chair! I can’t even express how awesome the lady that did my make up was! I  wanted to pack her up in my purse and bring her home with me. She complimented me the ENTIRE time. She even gave me a ju ju vitamin from her purse! It was so good! She asked me if I was Indian because of my facial structure. That was a first but NOW I see it! I can’t remember her name but I promise I will find out and add it in here! She is worth looking up!
This was before the show started. It was the best organized chaos I have ever experienced. The girl with the black shirt and water bottle is Laura! She is in charge of the audience and GREAT at her job! We talked on the phone a couple of times before I got there and you would swear we knew each other longer than we did!
Everyone was staring to sit down at this point. I have my dad to thank for taking all of these random pictures. Had he not been there I would not have any! We all know how much I LOVE random shots! He did a great job too! He was so cute, always taking pictures of me while I did anything and everything. I was chit chatting with one of the producers trying to not freak out. JJ. I was nervous but this moment was actually calm.
Before the show aired the producers let certain people (craft bloggers) go and walk around the set and take pictures. I met some wonderful and awesome gals this day and we will forever be friends. The girl I am talking to is Noel, a producer.  Her and I clicked. That’s it. I am trying to get her to come to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! We laughed so much this day it was crazy!
I was playing around with things in Martha’s new kitchen. It was so much fun! How do you like my mint right there in the middle of my tongue.
This is JOEY! He warms up the audience before, during and after the show. Before the show he was pumping everyone up and he went strait for my dad. I mean he was around WOMEN the whole time and was the only man in his section. (I’m sure he loved it)… His seat even had his name on it. I think he felt pretty cool with that! I know I would! I wished they would have aired my dad and Joey because they were both cracking up the whole audience.
See! This is my dad around all the ladies. <3
I love this picture.
While I was visiting with everyone after the show my dad and Joey kicked it off! So I figured I would take a picture with all three of us! Such a great memory. I am still so thankful and honored to be a part of everything. OH! Joey signed this dollor bill for my dad and you won’t believe what happened to it. My dad put it in his pocket and later on that day he PAID a CAB driver… Guess what he paid him with… Yep you guessed. The dollor from Joey. I told him that the Universe thought someone else needed it more! He felt better after that!
This is David Spain. The MOSS MAN. You can read all about him HERE. You can also read his blog HERE.
Awe Noel! Can’t wait to see all of you again!!!! BTW! She was the nicest little nugget ever!
Look at THIS! My bestie Martha signed this for me and Co! I have to tell you, I was NOT expecting this. I mean my mind was all over the place this particular day so this was AWESOME to get! Thanks Martha! Your the BEST!
LENOREEEEEEEEEE! I don’t even know where to begin with this ball of awesomeness. Lenore made me feel so comfortable the entire time I was there! We had a blast doing the practice run and she LOVED the earrings I brought for her! Yes! You can get them in my ETSY shop… Click HERE if you want some rose earrings. OH! Martha got a RED pair. She LOVED them!
Awe! All of the crafters! This team kicks……{{you know what}} Figgy (all the way to the right) was on the Halloween special last night! Click HERE to see him dresses up like a super hero!!! Kirsten Earl is right next to Figgy and Hosanna is all the way to the left! You can see ALL three of them HERE!!!!! They did a great challenge and you must see it!
I can only show you one or two pictures here but this is in the main office building. I had to share this with you because I found it very amazing. When you get there you have to walk down this LONG hall and there are sayings, quotes, and tons of inspiration on it. My friend Stacey (who is something special there I tell ya) took me and my dad on an ENTIRE tour of the whole place. Sorry I can’t share pictures but take my word on it… IT was UH-MAZE-ING……
And then you get to the good stuff…. Jaderbug’s, I can’t even begin to tell you how HUGE this place is. It pretty much took us 8 days to get all the way around it.
STACEYYYYYY!!! She opened her arms to my dad and I and treated us like family! There was not a nook or cranny she didn’t take us! It was purely a dream come true and I have YOU to thank. I have dreamed about all the little “elves” working away in Martha’s hidden space and I wanna be an elf. Bad. I can be a gnome too. Martha LOVES gnomes. Stacey LOVED my earrings I gave her!
This is the wonderful view of New York city from her office building. It was so pretty and serene. The flag flying so gracefully in the air represents everything to me. This picture is in a frame in my house as we speak. I guess when I took this picture I felt every emotion my body could feel and I will not ever forget this. Beautiful Hudson River.
Oh Alex! Lemme tell you this and only this… Alex and I will be “tight” forever…. It’s so funny because when we were being introduced I just went up to him and gave him a big ole hug and he started loving on me back. We were like a momma cat and a baby cat. Paahahah….. You can check all of his smoothness out HERE
We literally had a photo shoot for 20 min and my dad just kept clicking away. Did you know he and Hosanna have been there for over 10 years!! ClickHERE to read all about that! Wanna see him transformed into Linda Evangelista???? If you do click HERE! Martha is in it also!!!! {the book I mean}… What book? Click the link :)
Yes. Pure love here.
This is such a good picture! I think Martha and my dad got along well :) They actually look good together.. ((hint hint, come on universe))
au revoir my Jaderbugs! On the plane going back to my nest Thank you Universe for blessing me with all of this. It was a dream that came true and I will forever hold this experience close to my heart.

Just remember Jaderbugs, if you have a dream and you feel it is not possible to reach…. Just keep on reaching. Consume all of your thoughts and energy into your dream and be thankful before it ever comes true. I never in a million years thought when I started my blog that it would result in all of this. But I knew that anything was possible. I am a pure example of following your dreams. It does not matter where you are from, how many connections you have or how much money you have. When the universe knows it’s your time they give more and more to you.
Thanks to everyone who always supported me and believed in me. I will forever remember all of the positive thoughts from the first day I started my blog.
DREAMS DO COME TRUE!

Stenciled T-Shirt Craft

GOOD…NIGHT my Jaderbugs! It has been a long day. Still very blessed with the life I was given and you can bet your kitty’s winter wardrobe that I am not taking any second for granted! EVER!

Guess what! It’s almost Halloween. I think this time of year is so much fun. I love carving pumpkins and {{usually}} cutting myself, baking, opening windows, burning awesome smelling candles all over the house! You get it, it’s FALL!

This craft was super fun and super easy. There are a couple of things that went wrong and I will share them with you to make YOUR life a little easier. Let’s face it. Sometimes we have to come up with a “costume” of some sort (and it could be for ANY holiday) last minute. We may not have what we “want” but we can improvise with what we already have! Which is what I did.
I started by drawing a “sketch” of a skeleton’s rib cage and arm bones out on a piece of wax paper. Then I cut out what I wanted to be on the shirt. This is where the tricky part comes in. I just placed any object I could find around me {{NOT SMART jaderbomb NOT SMART}} and used them as “paper weights”. No. Not smart. I had to do it all over again because where I was putting my paint was getting all messed up because my paper kept moving. I suggest you spray the backside with some light spray adhesive and place it on your material. Trust me it won’t stay forever, in fact you will be able to peel it right off.  I suggest using the stencil brush set that I have below. They work the BEST and I’ll bet you Martha’s wardrobe on that one… {{sorry Martha!}} After you pounce every spot you want, lightly peel off the wax paper. You can add a flare to the shirt by sprinkling glitter on top of it. If you do this I would suggest waiting about 7 days before you wash it. Without glitter 48 hours.

Then TADAHHHH!!! That is it. This project if really fun because you can print out whatever you want and put it on ANYTHING you want. I love stencils because when you peel away you have a clean and crisp edge! This looks nice!
OH and make sure you use the Fabric Medium I have pictured if you are panting on fabric.
Here are the links to everything I used:

The color I used in the middle is called “wet cement”

Remember, when you are cutting things out you want to cut them out very nicely so they look great on the surface!

I know these babies look crazy right here but trust me, it was a rough sketch LOL

I used the color Wet Cement because I figured on the black shirt it would come out almost “off white” to resemble bones.
I hope you enjoyed this craft and it sparked some craft light bulb in your brain!
Sending you droopy eyes that will finish this before they fall asleep on the computer,
