Good Morning Jaderbugs!
Is it really Friday? Wait… It is Friday!

I posted a picture of this craft on Instagram last week and everyone was excited when they saw the GOLD glitter. I get excited when I see GOLD glitter.

I also get excited when I see gold glitter with a hint of light near it, don’t you? Today’s craft is super fun and will add that pop of holiday decor to any space. This is great for any occasion actually. What I love the most is you can spell out whatever you want!

You can MONOGRAM it!
Let’s get started.

Seriously, how cute is this? I wish I could show you how pretty they look when they are lit.

INGREDIENTS:

*Tall glass candles
( I got these from Walgreens. 2 for $5)
*Mod Podge
*Wooden Letter
(I got these at Hobby Lobby. They were around 50 cents)
*Gold glitter
*Brush
*Baker’s Twine

The first thing you will do is coat the letter with Mod Podge. I actually put one layer of glitter and now I am applying the second layer.

After you coat your letter with Mod Podge, sprinkle with your glitter.
*sprinkle

Cut a piece of baker’s twine and gently wrap it around the letter (or number).

Once you wrap your twine around your letter then you will wrap your twine around the candle. BTW, I bought my candles without any sticker or wrap on it. It came clean and crisp just like the picture.

VOILA! Peace on my window seal, at night, while I eat Nutella on toast, and drink a Dr. Pepper, while watching RHWOA, then taking my chewy vitamins because I can’t swallow pills…. YEP.

P to the E to the ACE from my crib to yours.

Don’t forget to GLITTERBOMB something!

First thing I am wondering is if everyone survived “Cyber Monday”. I am pretty much done with Christmas shopping, well except for all of the “things” I will find from now until then. Which I hate to say could totally start to pile up. I have this thing where we always buy one nice gift but other little ones also. There is something about watching a person open a present. Do you experience that too?

The other day when I went “BLACK” friday shopping I instagramed this picture. The funniest part is when It went on facebook someone responded to it and said they knew where I was at. So, I was at Joann’s.  They had some major deals going on and they still do so click on the link I just put to shop online. I accidentally ran across these HUGE letters and I though “Wow I could totally decorate with these for Christmas and also keep them up all year after Christmas”. I bought them. The large one is normally $9.99 but was on sale for around $4.00. The small one normally is around $5.00 but for it for $2 something. I am telling you it’s a great deal. It’s always fun to think out side of the box when it comes to Christmas decor. With all of the decorations out all over it get’s overwhelming somethings and you can’t think. That’s why I am here!

Let’s get started.

INGREDIENTS:

*Cardboard Letters
*Mod Podge
*Craft Brush
*Glitter
*Krylon Sealer

You can purchase all of the item’s by clicking on the links under ingredients.

These are all of the things you will need to make your home all warm and cozy. Did I mention that you can totally buy letter’s of someone’s name, do this to them and give them as a Christmas present. Everyone loves something that has their name, initials or favorite sayings on them. At least in Louisiana they do!

HaHa

The first thing you will do is coat the top of your letter with Mod Podge. Keep in mind this dries fairy quick so you don’t want to coat the entire letter then glitter. I do a little piece glitter, shake off glitter then move to a spot away from the one I just did. So it’s a little bit of going all over the letter but eventually it all will be coated with awesome glitter!

This is about the size I do at one time. I used the “original” glitter. I don’t know if there is an original but you know what I mean. Not all that new FINE, THIN glitter but the large gold flakes. These always bring me back to being a kid so I thought hey, let’s go there for Christmas. What I love most about this project is you can get so creative with it. You don’t have to use gold. You can use whatever color your home decor is or if you are giving it as a gift you can make it that person’s favorite color.

When you are completely done you can coat the entire thing with Mod Podge or spray with this sealer. I used the sealer but they both work the same. You can get this from any craft store.

Make sure you spray this OUTSIDE!

This my Jaderbugs is what you will get.  A mantle full of awesomeness. If you didn’t see my tutorial on how I made these tinsel trees you can click HERE to see them. Yesterday I posted how to make a garland with Cotton Balls and it exploded on Pinterest. Click HERE to see how I did it!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, make sure to come back tomorrow to see some easy DIY Christmas decor.

Oh HAPPY day Jaderbugs! I have this post I am working on featuring 5-10 homemade crafts you can make to decorate your Christmas tree with. That will be coming up this week but I wanted to share a few of my favorite ones with you now. I love making things that fill those empty spots in my Christmas tree. You know? Those spots that are screaming for love and affection? This year is the FIRST year we ever got a real tree. It was so much fun going through the entire process. Lil one had fun picking it out. The one thing I didn’t realize is that you can’t BEND the branches like a fake tree.

HAHA.

Do you know what this means? HUGE spots that need love and affection. I tried sticking ornaments in those lonely spots but it was just not working. Our living room tree’s theme is GOLD, WHITE and a pop of red. I thought why not add a little bit’O candy in the tree and that is where this idea came from. I didn’t want to go out and buy candy ornaments because they are super duper expensive and I just don’t like throwing away money like that.  I hope you enjoy this craft because they turned out SO cute. Just think you can do silver ones and put bright fun paper around them. I love this because you can be creative and add paper on them that you personally love.

Stay tuned because I have THREE trees in the house this year so you will be seeing some fun ways to decorate a tree. Did I mention each room has a different theme? Eh…. I know. I have OCD.
Let’s get started:

INGREDIENTS:

*Scissors
*Twine
*Mylar Tissue (purchased from Walgreens)
*Scrapbook paper
*Paper towel roll

You can click on any of the ingredient links to purchase these items in ONE spot.

The first thing I want to tell you is this Mylar Paper is GOLD and SILVER. This is what it looks like right from the package. You can see that there will be a crease from where it was folded.

If you flip the paper over it will be silver. I didn’t know this until I bought it. I think this is great because you can choose this side if you don’t want GOLD.

The first thing I did was lay my cardboard roll on the edge of tissue, roll it over so see where I need to cut.  The goal is to have no cardboard showing.

Once you cut it it will look like the picture below. It will be too “long” so you will need to cut the strip in half. I used the crease that was already showing as a guideline.

Once you cut it wrap your roll with the tissue paper and secure with tape. I like to use double stick tape so I can “hide” the tape from the human eye. It actually just looks a little better this way.

Get a piece of twine and tie it around the ends of the roll. This will give us that CANDY look. Are they not so cute? I planned on leaving them just like this but I really wanted them to pop.

Soooo. I added red and white chevron paper around them.

This is what they will look like once you are done! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial… Make sure and post yours on my facebook page so I can share with my readers. I love seeing your take on one of my crafts.

Don’t forget to make it a DIY kinda day,

Well..It’s already that time of year and I sit here shaking my head in disbelief. I can’t believe it “really” is that time of year.

How did Thanksgiving already come and go? Have I been asleep all year? I remember when I was a kid I used to overhear my parents say things like ” Boy, time goes so quick the older we get”… What does that really mean? I get that times goes as fast but come on. Nobody ever said it would fly by quicker than you can digest the turkey you ate a few days ago.

To get in the spirit I will be making a lot of fun new Christmas Tutorials for you on here, sharing Christmas ideas, featuring other amazing Christmas crafts and kicking out some fun printable’s.

Do you ever walk around the stores WISHING you could buy everything because it all looks so good in that one spot at that exact moment. I am totally that person however over the years I transformed the way my brain thinks. I get that something I make will not have a “label” on it BUT it will prolly cost me 3/4 less and will be made the way I want it. Sometimes it’s hard to break something down in your head and re-make it. So I will be doing all of the dirty work (figuring the break down process) for you and posting it in easy steps.
I wanted to add a pop of color on my mantle in the living room so I thought mini Christmas trees would be perfect.

Yes, I was one of the crazy people out on black friday shopping. I only went to 2 stores though. One of the stores was Joanne Fabric  and craft store and there I purchases these little cardboard cones for around .75 cents.  (I know!!!) I know they sell these at any craft store so it should be easy to find. Let’s get started.

INGREDIENTS:

*Tinsel
*Cardboard Cone
*Glue Gun

TWhat I love the most about this craft is that you can get tons of garlands and make like 40 of these babies. I actually saw one like this in Albertson’s the other day and it was $39.00.  Granted the tinsel on those were a little fancy but I purposely wanted to use the “vintage” looking tinsel garland. It add’s a retro feel to the room.

The first thing you will do is add a little dot of hot glue on your cardboard cone.

Carefully start wrapping your garland around the cone.

Keep going until you get to the very bottom…..

VOILA! It’s that simple. The three cones may have cost me $3.00 and the garland was $3.99 at Wal-Mart. These look so cute on the mantle and I am proud that I took something that was WAY over priced and made it affordable and ridiculously cute.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, make sure to come back tomorrow to see some easy DIY Christmas tree decor.

Quote of the day:
“It is the first duty of the citizen to be calm.

Won’t you take me to… FUNKY TOWN with FUNKY ROCKS… with FUNKY MAGNETS…

You get it, I am pretty excited about these babies. However I never even got to put them up because dad took them to Hawaii and already gave them away! He said all of his friends there would love them. I was hoping he would of “forgot” to give them away. Eh. He didn’t.

Good thing is it’s only rocks! I can make TON’S more Jaderbugs! Let’s get started on our halloween rock magnets

Halloween Rock Magnets

 INGREDIENTS:

*Paint
*Glue Gun
*Craft Brush
*Baker’s Twine
*Rocks
*Magnets

Make sure you click on the links of ingredients to order these items!

The first thing you will do is paint your first coat of paint onto the rock. I like to do one half, let it dry then do the other half. Remember your first coat will be translucent to a certain degree.

I love taking pictures of my paint. It looks so pretty! NO. I don’t want to eat it, today.

Once your rocks are fully coated you can start painting your design on them. I really enjoy whimsical, organic designs.  Remember if you are putting different designs on your rocks to let each color dry thoroughly. I won’t show you the rocks that threw in a pile because I thought I had magical brushes that would not mix the paint together.

HAHA

To make the little designs with your baker’s twine I like to start by wrapping them around my finger like this. If you find an easier way please do that!

I know. I was lazy. I did NOT paint the  backs of my rocks. I mean, had I known they were taking a trip to Hawaii I would of.  But, once you are done painting and gluing you can place your magnet with an adhesive backing to the back of the rock. Where ever you choose to put your baker’s twine just hot glue it down.

This one kinda reminds me of Charlie Brown’s shirt. I love the way the black and white baker’s twine makes everything pop!

I am totally in LOVE with my little pumpkin. Guess I will make a new one!
(Insert shaking head here, haha)

I have this vintage serving plate in our kitchen and I use it to post important notes. These little magnet’s were cute on it.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, see ya in the next post! Make sure you come visit me in these places too! (look below this line, hehe)

Check what else I did  these Halloween earrings that look like these magnets here.

Video Inspiration for this post! Last night Beetle Juice played on ABC Family and I felt like having a party in the house. Nothing screams PAR-TAY Honey Boo Boo like PAR-TAY banners. Right now they have the 13 nights of HALLOWEEN so make sure and check out all of the classic movies playing. I suggest playing the video while you read the rest of the post, it’s sure to get you DANCING!

So, Washi Tape is pretty cool because you can use it for so many things. It’s really affordable until you become a washi tape addict then things can maybe get expensive. Sometimes at Michaels Arts and Crafts you can buy a pack of 3 or four for around 2.50. It might sound expensive but this stuff really last’s a long time. Once you start to get a collection then you can really get funky with your crafts.

INGREDIENTS:

*Washi Tape
*Scissors
*Baker’s Twine

(If you click on any of the above links you can order all of my ingredients)

What I really love more than washi tape is baker’s twine. There is something about this two toned string that makes me levitate and dance. I think when you add the black and white baker’s twine to things it adds a pop of color and it becomes a little magical to the eye.

The first thing you will do is lay out your baker’s twine on a flat surface.

Cut a piece of washi tape. I always like to cut a little more than I need. In the end we will be cutting these strips, plus it’s good to have some longer than other.

Lay your piece of washi tape on your flat surface and place your baker’s twine right on top of it. You want to make sure and place your baker’s twine is right in the middle.

Here is another angle for ya.

Fold it over so each side sticks to each other. Once you are happy with that you can cut it strait across or like I did below. It kinda adds a little “carnival” in your life!

I am really pleased with they way they turned out. Make sure you squeeze the washi tape around the baker’s twine so it is secure.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Remember they make washi tape in every design you could think of. Here is a great site to order from. It’s Wishy Washi Tape . You will really enjoy this shop.
