February Challenge creative 1 Happy Monday! I am so excited to share some denim crafts with you today! As a Michael’s Maker I was challenged by my friends at Michael’s to do something magical with their new line of denim products – Make Market. If you have not seen this line yet, now is the time! I can remember the day’s I would beg my friends for their old jeans so I could rip and tear them up. I used to always use denim and let me tell you this makes things NICE!

I love the variety of denim that is available. They have bows, ribbon, bags, canvases, wraps, cuts pieces and so much more!!! I started thinking about what I would make with the denim and then it dawned on me. I have a new chicken and she needs a basket to sleep in and I need a new basket to get our fresh eggs with. VOILA!

Here I am so excited next the denim line. Not cheesy at all! (hehe)

photo (10) 2 & and chicken. If you don’t have a chicken or fresh eggs you can still make this basket and use it for decoration or fill it with goodies and give to someone as a gift.  silkie chicken I simply love this ribbon. I would be a little happier if they made some with adhesive backing! I mean then I could stick them on practically everything! blue jean crafts Step 1: Open a pack of ribbon and start on a corner, weaving the ribbon over and under the openings. It’s truly simple but time consuming.

Step 2: When you get all the way around cut the ribbon and tie on the corners.
1 Once you get your first stripe start with your next one. You will start seeing the stripes appear and then…you will start to fall in love!

To make the chalkboard name tag: Cut the twine, write your message with a chalk marker then tie to the front of the basket.  3 I bought this fluffy blue jean ribbon to add to the front of the basket. I love that it’s a clip. I can take it on and off and use it for other projects! 4 To make the chalkboard -n- denim planter: purchase a chalkboard pot or paint one and grab some denim -n- lace ribbon. Cut a piece and tie around the top of pot!  Grab your chalk marker and write your message on the pot! 5

7 Voila! It’s all done. You now have your magical denim basket to gather your eggs or goodies in.  You know… This would make a GREAT EASTER BASKET.

Michaels has named denim the craft trend of 2015! Denim has always been a wardrobe staple and now it’s emerging in crafts and home décor.

  • If you’re looking for some spring project inspiration, take a look at Michaels’ new Make Market line for DIY project and home décor ideas – all made with simple, on-trend surfaces and textures like chalk, denim, galvanized, burlap and cork.
  • Michaels Makers readers are getting the inside scoop on an upcoming craft contest that will send one lucky participant on the trip of a lifetime to Paris. Check back on my blog March 2 to get all the details on how to enter.

Hope you enjoyed this post! See you in the next one!!! xoxo, jaderbomb

I should walk with SHAME! With my non egg decorating self. Well off to bigger and better things, which is showing off crafts that other bloggers created. You know, the ones that walk around proud of how many different types of easy easter crafts they created. BOOYAH! You just made my day a whole lot easier. Today it’s all about my trip to Old Navy and this fabulous Powder Dyed Shirt. Let’s be real, when you add Tie-Dye to anything you get a bundle of happiness. Here is PROOF! Powder Dyed Shirt When I was asked by I love to Create to make a fabulous DIY with some of Old Navy’s new line of spring clothes I was JUMPING FOR JOY, literally. I had no clue what I was planning on creating until I walked in the store. I think for a minute I was upset I only had to create ONE thing once my eyes saw the new spring line. I know you will love this powder dyed technique I used so let’s check it out.  k Be sure what you want and be sure about yourself. Fashion is not just beauty, it’s about good attitude. You have to believe in yourself and be strong
-Adriana Lima

As you can see there were so many choices. I knew I wanted crisp and bold so I ended up going with this “Textured-Dobby Shirt”. Since I am using Tulip Tie-Dye I made sure the shirt was 100% cotton. I almost bought these white pants and pink button down but I changed my mind in the end.
Wahoo! Time to check out and CREATE! Yep, you see that black and white striped ball? I can’t wait to show you what I created with this.  11.jpg
You will need:
* Tulip Tie-Dye
Women’s Textured-Dobby Shirts
I am using the Mini Tie-Dye Kit. DSC_0139 As you can see the bottles have powder inside of them already. We will not fill the bottles with water for this project.  DSC_0141 STEP ONE: Fill a bowl with water and wet your shirt.  learn to tie dye
STEP TWO: Twist water out of shirt and lay it down on a clean surface, flat and unbuttoned. Lay your shirt on a garbage bag if you can’t find a clean spot.

STEP THREE: Remove cap from bottle and lightly shake bottle over wet shirt. The powder will slowly start coming out of the bottle.  kids crafts
I used all of the colors in the pack. If you are not a fan of bright colors you can use one or two colors. This technique looks great with a single color or multiple colors.  how to mix dye I love how all of the colors start bleeding together. If you know me then you know bright it right!  mixing colors You want to let the powder sit on the wet shirt for a couple of hours. The longer it sits the brighter the colors will be.  confetti tie dye
I simply love the dye that was left behind. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  DSC_0202 After a few hours I rinsed my shirt under cool running water then washed it separately. WOWZERS! I am so happy with the way it turned out.  DSC_0193 old navy tie dyed shirt DSC_0195
This shirt looks great paired with anything.  POWDER DYED SHIRT craftgawker

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Seriously Y’all. Today I will show you how to Dye Easter Eggs, just wait —–> Not just eggs but Tie-Dyed Eggs. I am totally obsessed with tie-dye. You would think I am a born again 15 year old who’s parents traveled in a camper and lived for Woodstock or just wood. Wait, they did.

So I write for I Love to Create, twice a month and I get to actually do FUN stuff like this for my JOBBBY JOB! I know. You are totally shaking your head right now saying “ughhhh I wanna dye eggs and listen to loud music all day”… TRUST, it took me a long time and lot’s of hard work to get this egg dying job. *Fluffy Chicks
*Adhesive Magnets

You can purchase all of the supplies I used by clicking on the links above.

I purchases my chicks at Hobby Lobby and they were $2.99 for a box of 24. Pretty affordable, right!

Today’s post is super sassy and fun! Come on, it’s EGG CANDLES. I will show you how to transform boring eggs in your fridge into a great centerpiece for your table. You can even use them individually if you choose too! Did I mention they smell DELICIOUS!

you will need

I bought my blocks of wax from Wal-Mart. Completely affordable!

Take your ice pick and lightly crack a piece of the egg. Then you can start peeling the egg to create a hole at the top.

This is what they will look like when done.

Make sure to rinse out the egg completely. We want to get rid of any egg smell.

I used my burner to melt my wax. If you have a ceramic dish you can do it in the microwave but please be careful. It can get really hot. If you decide to do it in the microwave make sure you do it for a minute, stir it then continue doing that until it is completely melted.

I filled a pretty antique dish with moss that I bought from Hobby Lobby.

Next, lay out your eggs in the moss.

Gently place your wicks in the eggs.

Then start pouring your wax. I used a plastic spoon, it works really good.  Once you fill them all up let them sit for a few hours to harden. Trim the wick with scissors and voila!

There you have it. A cute arrangement for any space. Just remember if you make them in different scents that when you light them they might not smell great mixed together. I recommend doing them in one scent if you plan on lighting multiple eggs at a time. I hope you enjoyed this post, see you in the next one Jaderbugs!

I hope you enjoyed bloggy Thursday!

Happy Saturday YALL!
It’s such a pretty day outside. The windows are open. The birds are singing. The radio is blasting. I’m baking. Making easter baskets.
Pretty much loving every second of every second! (whatever that means) haha

I had to share this craft with you because EVERYONE loves rice krispy treats {{{right}}}

You will need :

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
  • OR
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies cereal
  • OR
  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Cocoa Krispies cereal
  •  and lot’s of LOVE
    How To:

    1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
    2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated. OH I forgot to tell you. I used Cocoa Krispies instead of the plain ones!!!! If you have not tried doing this you are TOTALLY missing out!!! Here is a perfect excuse to make a big batch!!!

You will need some plastic eggs.

After you let your mixture cool off a little bit stuff a little bit in each end. You do not have to fill it up at this point. When it’s closed it will fill up the whole egg. I like to spray some pam in my hands before handling the mixture. It makes it so much easier and it will not stick to you!

Tadahhhh! Can you imagine the look on someone’s face when they open a plastic egg (thinking there will be like… candy in it) and they find THIS! It will be a picture perfect moment!!!!

Well gotta run. I have ALOT more to do today! But stay tuned later on because I have a SUPER FUN “night time” egg craft for ya!
Sending you virtual rice krispy treat eggs to eat for the next month,
