Who would of thunk it! Paper Reinforcements make it so easy to get a perfect well polished DIY french manicure. I am loving this because I personally will not pay anyone for a manicure. Listen, this is so easy that I did it while I was actually working. Imagine that! I have tried using tape but the polish usually goes under it in some spots. Not good for me, hehe.  Check out my UP inspired nails, they are so cute. Here is a DIY craft you can do with polish also! How fun!

DIY french manicure

Let’s get started:

Step 1: Paint your base coat first. The most important thing is to make sure the base coat is completely DRY before moving on to step 2.

Step 2: Place your reinforcements directly onto the nail tips like the picture above. You can decide how thick you want your tip to be. If you mess up while applying it on your nail you can gently remove the reinforcement and re-apply it.

Step 3:  Paint the tips

Step 4: Remove the reinforcements as soon as you are done painting. If the paint dries before you peel it off, it can pull off some of the polish on the tip.

Step 5: ENJOY your beautiful new nails!

I hope you enjoyed this easy tutorial on getting a perfect manicure.

See ya in the next post

When you open your pack of silk screens they will look like the picture above, all connected on one sheet.

Martha-Stewart-Giveaway-APOTHECARY-jars-jaderbomb

If you notice they have white lines separating each design. You should cut along the line to separate them.

This is how they will look once you cut them.

Find the image you want to use and gently peel the silk screen off of the paper. I like to start on a corner. Plus if it get’s crinkled it will not mess up the actual image. Once you remove the silk screen place it where you want on the glass.

Martha-Stewart-Giveaway-APOTHECARY-jars-jaderbomb

Once you apply your silk screen to the glass add a bead of paint right above the image.

Get your squeegee and pull the paint down over the image. I suggest going from the top to the bottom in one stroke. It will make the paint consistent and even. Repeat the step if you have to do it in two layers.

As soon as you finish, peel the silk screen off of the glass. Very important that you wash it immediately.  If you let the paint dry on the silk screen it will not work properly again. Once you wash it lay it out on a towel to dry.

Today’s post is super sassy and fun! Come on, it’s EGG CANDLES. I will show you how to transform boring eggs in your fridge into a great centerpiece for your table. You can even use them individually if you choose too! Did I mention they smell DELICIOUS!

I bought my blocks of wax from Wal-Mart. Completely affordable!

Take your ice pick and lightly crack a piece of the egg. Then you can start peeling the egg to create a hole at the top.

This is what they will look like when done.

Make sure to rinse out the egg completely. We want to get rid of any egg smell.

I used my burner to melt my wax. If you have a ceramic dish you can do it in the microwave but please be careful. It can get really hot. If you decide to do it in the microwave make sure you do it for a minute, stir it then continue doing that until it is completely melted.

I filled a pretty antique dish with moss that I bought from Hobby Lobby.

Next, lay out your eggs in the moss.

Gently place your wicks in the eggs.

Then start pouring your wax. I used a plastic spoon, it works really good.  Once you fill them all up let them sit for a few hours to harden. Trim the wick with scissors and voila!

There you have it. A cute arrangement for any space. Just remember if you make them in different scents that when you light them they might not smell great mixed together. I recommend doing them in one scent if you plan on lighting multiple eggs at a time. I hope you enjoyed this post, see you in the next one Jaderbugs!

Happy Tuesday Jaderbugs! I am so excited to finally share with you how I make Washi tape. Washi tape is pretty popular these days but what’s not popular is how much they cost. Sometimes you can snag them for a good deal but most of the time they are a little over priced. Now let me warn you that the washi tape I make does not tear like the “paper” washi tape. Sometimes that bugs me BUT most of the time I remember how much money I saved and that I could make tape with any print I like then I feel much better.  Don’t ya see, it’s like personalizing something…In a way. I also made a you tube video while I made the tape. I hope it makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. Hehe

Below is a picture of the ones I just made. If you are wondering what the gold paper is click HERE to find out.

INGREDIENTS:

*Wax Paper
*Rotary Cutter
*Cutting Mat
*Double stick tape
*Wrapping Paper
*Flat Ruler
(for a cutting mat)
or use something with a flat surface to cut
*Scissors
(use this if you don’t have a rotary cutter)

First thing you will do is lay a sheet of wax paper down.

Put a strip of double stick tape on it.

I usually put a alot.

Tear some wrapping paper and lay it right on top of the tape. Now your tape is stuck to the wax paper on one side and the wrapping paper on the other.

Once you are sure your tape is secure on the paper flip everything over.

It’s hard to see in the paper but in person you can now see where your strips of tape are. Get your ruler out and line it up on one side of the tape.

Grab your rotary cutter. If you don’t have a rotary cutter or flat ruler you can just hand cut the strips of tape with scissors. I just think it goes faster with the rotary cutter which is why I use it.

Now you are ready to start cut cut cutttinggggg (I was just singing that btw).
Cut one side of the tape on the mat.

Then move to the other side of the tape. When you are finishing cutting you will notice it will be one long strip of paper. Trim the edges where there is NO tape and VOILA!

You can now start wrapping all of your tape into a roll like I did below. I cut a little strip of cardboard to wrap around the entire roll. This hold it all in place.

How precious are these babies. I can’t wait to use these on all of my Christmas presents. When you are ready to use them cut a piece, pull the wax paper off and stick it where you want. It’s that easy!!!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Don’t forget to make it a DIY kinda day
See ya in the next post

Happy Happy Monday! Guess what tomorrow is?!?!? MY BIRTHDAY! It’s kinda crazy how the older you get time seems to fly by. I feel like I just had a birthday and it’s already here again! Guess I can’t complain when it’s time to open gifts! {{teehehehehe}}

So, I am always baking cinnamon rolls and biscuits, go figure! The other day I was taking some out of a can (yes, I buy them in the cans) especially when they are on sale. While I was taking them out one got caught on the can and it unraveled.  I actually think I cussed at them as if they did it on purpose! Who does that! me.

Ok, so while it’s just hanging there I decided to twist them. Hallelujah, right! How could I not think of this before? Let me show you how easy this is…

Before the twisting happened!

Un-roll it

Grab them on each end and twist!

How amazing is this!!

I know this is prolly not anything new to the world but it’s new to me and it totally made me happy and smile from ear to ear! Seriously, your kids will love you even more when you give them these babies!

Make sure you come back tom and see how to chalk up a wine glass! See ya in the next post!!!!

Happy Saturday Jaderbugs! I slept SOOOO good and my coffee is SOOOO good right now! I have a few new things lined up to post  but none are 100% complete! So I thought this would be the best time to post a few crafts from last summer. A little old school for ya this morning!

This is NOT from last summer but I want you to get it if you have not yet! It’s the greatest checkoff list ever. Put this up on your fridge and watch in excitement as your little kids get to check off things your family does together! You could even have a 100 day’s of Summer journal! Write a little bit about each thing you check off!

Have some old furniture lying around? Does it look old and frumpy? I’ve got the solution! Get over to your local craft store, or Walmart and get some .99 bottles of acrylic paint! Watch the magic happen!

Remember the movie UP? I do! It is prolly my favorite! What a fun way to brighten up your day! Paint your nails like balloons. Every time you look down you will think of the movie and it will put a smile on your face!

If you are like me then you might have TON’S of paint cans laying around. No worries! Check out what I created!

Want to reuse your old Era or Gain bottle? Check out this fun craft that I made!

I hope you enjoyed me bringing back a few crafts I did a WHOLE year ago! Happy Weekend Jaderbugs!
