Y’all it’s almost Christmas! Seriously I feel like I made these DIY Coffee Mugs a week ago. Welcome to my world! I can’t quite grasp Christmas this year. Maybe because it still sorta feels like Summer-ish / Fall-ish here in Louisiana. I mean come on mother nature, can you give us like 4 days of snow? It’s not too much to ask of you. I just want to wear some scarves for a few days without my neck getting hot.

Which brings me to the subject of why stores in Louisiana even sell scarves. However it’s quite funny when you go into a store here and a mannequin is dressed with a scarf and tank top.. Insert WTF here.

Speaking of Mannequins. Are you totally loving this new fad all over the internet where everyone stands still (minus the people who blink every now and then) and pretends life is at a dead stand still? I know I am. Shoot’s, it’s better than that whole “plank” fad that went around a few years ago. I think THIS ONE is my favorite so far. I mean you can be in the WORST mood ever and once you watch this you will wish there was more, or you will wish you were in that front row. Either way I bound and determined to do one and you can bet I will get creative. Stay tuned. I think my DIY Coffee Mugs would work perfectly in a mannequin challenge.

Today I wanted to share with you a really fun tutorial I did last year for I Love to Create. I am always down to wear an ugly sweater and I wanted to make sure my mugs had the change to do the same thing. Click on the link below for the FULL TUTORIAL.
DIY COFFEE MUG

I won’t give aways the deets but I will tell you that anyone can create fun mugs. These can be for yourself or for a friend. Either way they are the perfect gift! I will say that the ceramic markers below are by far the best I have ever used. No, I am not getting paid to say that (well technically I am but…) I am very serious.

These would look great next to your mugs!ugly-sweater-snowman-mug

Yep! They are safe to use once you are done. I thought I would add hearts to the bottom of my mugs so when their drink is all done they will have a heart felt surprise! How sweet huh! ♥

OH SNAP! I almost forgot to tell you about my Dream Tree Challenge for Michaels. Every year I am honored to create a beautiful tree and this year I went all out! Wondering what theme I went with? You hoping I tell you right now huh! NOPE, haha! Click HERE to see my beautiful creation… I am still in love with last years tree but I am totally digging the beauty of this years. DIY Coffee Mugs - Christmas Mugs - DIY - DIY GIFTS

You won’t believe what I did with Moss!

Hey Everyone! It’s been a HOT minute since I posted on the blog but I have to tell you LIFE has a crazy way of throwing so much at you at once…You will be so excited when you learn how to make Moss Covered Pumpkins today. I am always so excited to do this challenge for Michaels.

You all know I love color and even though these are more natural pumpkins I am totally in love. I love the thought that there are little creatures living in the moss in their own fairy land. Maybe I created these because subconsciously I want to be one of the creatures, haha! Who’s ready to get started! P.S. I am leaving tomorrow to go to Carmel California to our annual Michaels Makers Summit so I can’t wait to share with you this adventure! Check out what we did LAST year…You will see why I am so excited!

To kick off fall in your own home, visit Michaels.com and check out the variety of craft pumpkins available – there is every color, shape and size you could ever want! There are tons of ways to DIY your own craft pumpkin for your home, a party or even as a gift.

Moss Covered Pumpkins

Supplies: Craft Pumpkin | Moss | Glue Gun | Glue Stickspumpkin project supplies

I don’t know about you but I am in LOVE with this beautiful picture of this MOSS! I won’t say what it looks like, haha! If you have never crafted with this Moss you will love it when you get some. It’s so soft and feels like it came strait of a forest. moss projects

Michael’s has a wide variety of Pumpkins to choose from so I picked the white ones. I wasn’t sure if some of the pumpkin color would show through the moss so I chose white! Guess what… The Moss fills it up completely! None of the pumpkin color shows!craft pumpkin projects

The first thing you will do is plug in your glue gun then when it’s ready add a few lines starting at the top of the pumpkin and carefully place a small piece of moss on top of the hot glue. craft pumpkins

This is what it will start to look like once you start adding your moss. I did choose three different moss colors so I can have three different pumpkins. I wanted them to all look different and boy am I happy I did that!fall pumpkins

Look how beautiful! It’s like a cute little secret world… Imagine what’s living in this! diy fall pumpkins

I added a few wax plants in the mix to bring it to life. These would look great on a table top for the Fall holidays. michaels makers

Mosaic 101! Well let me correct myself… It should be titled “Come see how easy it is to mosaic without using grout”… haha! Seriously if you are anything like me then you like to do things quick and fast. I tend to love instant gratification and this project will do the job. I created this project for I love to Create and it actually landed on television through the company! I will try to find the link and add it but in the meantime you can check out ALL of the projects I created for them HERE. The one thing I love about this project is the fact that it’s delicate yet still bold and full of of color. Color is the one thing in my life that brings true happiness to my soul. Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to get to the FULL tutorial! If you want to see another cool project I created using grout check this out!

Let me start off by saying I love miniature dishes, bowls, plates, saucers, or whatever you feel like calling them. I also have to admit that I have like 500 of them all over the house in little nooks and crannies. I always feel like an empty spot in some room needs a little dish to catch things like lip gloss, change, chargers, keys or whatever else you can find to fill them. I won’t lie, I sometimes give them away to friends or family as gifts but for some reason the hoarder comes out in me and I tend to stash them all over. Speaking of stashing I was cleaning my bathroom the other day and I found a little dish I made behind a picture frame with change in it. I wasn’t sure if I had more change or more dust in the bowl! HAHA. So I just washed all the change and put it back in the dish. SEE, I told you they are handy!

Since my friends at Michaels asked me to create a Mothers day project that can be for moms, dads, grandmas or whoever, I knew immediately what I was going to create. The great thing about this project is you can personalize it to fit your anyones personality! My mother is one heck of a crafter to I guess I owe a lot of my craftiness to her..

  • Michaels has everything you need to craft the perfect handmade gift that will make Mom’s day.

Who’s ready to get started on this mothers day project!

organize your craft roomThe only bad thing about posting this on here is my mom might actually see her Mother’s Day gift… hahaha! Sorry mom if you are reading this! air dry clay projectsMaterials for this project:
Air Dry Clay : I love this product and it’s great for kids! No need for baking, you just let them air dry and voila!
Maxx Gloss Paint : I purchased these from Michaels but you can use any gloss paint that you like. This brand tends to dry really glossy which I like because it’s easy to wash them if they get dirty. Remember, “dirty coins”…
Mod Podge : One thing I love about this product is once you apply to your product it dries clear and coats it nicely.
Glitter Flakes : You can use any glitter you want for this project. You also don’t have to use any glitter and can just paint the bowls with paint.
Brushes : Make sure you use good brushes so your bowls don’t have streaks on them.

You can purchase all of the products I used by clicking on the blue links!
kid friendly clayMake sure when you open your clay that it is cold and soft. Sometimes people open the containers in the store the clay gets hard. I seriously love this clay because you can make so much with it and the next day it’s ready to use!clay diy projectsThe first thing you will do is get a chunk of soft clay and slowly mold it into a little bowl. You can press the edges to make them thin and curve the edges to make it look like delicate flower petals. clay projectsWhen you are done forming your bowls let them sit out over night to dry. I like to leave mine out for 48 hours so make sure they are really hard. how to paint clayOnce they are dry these babies are ready to be painted! Have fun with your colors! I made them a little plain today because these are for my mom however I might keep a few and spice them up. You know me, I love my color! NO, I am not at ALL saying my mom is PLAIN… She is just not as BOLD as me….♥glitter projectsWhen your paint is completely dry you will brush Mod Podge onto the bottom of your bowl then sprinkle with glitter flakes. Press down gently with finger and blow excess glitter out. Coat the top of glitter with another layer of Mod Podge to secure the glitter! Let these suckers dry then you are done! easy mothers day diyI am simply delighted with how they came out. Simple, modern and handmade. Let me also mention, made with ton’s of love! clay dishesYou can make these as small or large as you want! You can even make one to fit your cell phone! Happy Monday Y’all!!! Today is the day I show you what I created with the new Make Market line from Michaels! Yes my friends at Michaels just knew I would create some rad project and I am super excited to share with you what I came up with!

Let’s be real. You can’t go wrong with flowers and a glue gun, hehe!

peg board flower initial

BOHO CRAFTS

YOU WILL NEED: Peg Board Letter | Artificial Flowers | Glue Gun | BoHo Decorative Screen | Twine (optional)

  • The best part about crafting is putting your own spin on a project. Whether it’s decorating with marquee lights or crafting an initial that represents your family name, Michaels has made it easy with their new Alphabet Soup by Make Market™ line of products.

The back will look like this. If you plan on putting this on a wall when you are finished with all of the flowers you can trim the backs so it fits flush against the wall.

I am so in love with this letter already. How cool would a the entire alphabet look on a wall!
valentines day gifts

I am putting my letter on top of a screen so I am not worried about cutting the backs of the flowers. valentines day projects

Grab a little hook (btw this came on my boho screen that I got from Michaels as well) and add hot glue to one side of it. glue gun projects

Step Four: Stick hook on back of letter. Leave it be for a hot minute to dry completely. easy flower projects

You know you want some Fabric Band-Aids! I am sitting on my sofa watching Diners, Drive – In’s and Dives eating left over Veggie Soup and my Cat Hanna just pooted right. near. my. face. She is just lucky her cute face makes up for the nastiness seeping out of her you know what. I know it’s time for Christmas but today I just realized that I have not posted any Thanksgiving projects on my blog this year. I am not sure how I should feel about this situation. I mean, I complain to no ends about corporate stores setting up Christmas stuff in October and skipping right over the day of giving thanks! Now, I know some of you are crying your little eyes out waiting for me to post some weird object in my house that has been transformed into a turkey neck or a chicken leg but that will not happen, however I do have a FREE Thanksgiving printable for YOU! Right now I am giving thanks to my brain for thinking of this project the other day when I cut myself in my studio.

I was literally sitting on my floor creating THIS project and I cut my finger. I hopped on over to my handy dandy first aid kit that BTW needs to be bedazzled and grabbed a bandaid. I slapped it on my finger and wished I had some cute Kate Spade or Hello Kitty band-aid. Heller, Xyron + Fabric + Boring Band-aids = Gangsta Baids. I know my fabric is not a lick of “gangsta” but if a gangsta wore it you would think it was. Let’s get started! Fabric Band-Aids using Xyron

I can’t lie I was hoping I would cut myself just so I could put one of these babies on me. You know you could make a batch of these and give them to someone as a Christmas gift and I pinky promise they will love them.
