Burst of BUTTERFLIES TUTORIAL

Howdy roo Jaderbugs! It’s Saturday and I have so much stuff to do my brain is like
“oh my lawdddddd who do you think I am”…
and I am like…
“hellooo your my brain your supposed to work overtime”…..
and then out of anger my brain is like….
” well how bout this.. “I’m off for the night, good luck finding a new brain”
There you have it. It’s going to be that kind of day!

But lemme tell you about this tutorial. So you know I love “MARTHA STEWART” (((really Jaderbomb,we know))). All of her punches are fabulous. I swear they punch out PERFECTLY and you would think they would go bad after um, 500 punches but NO! I think it actually get’s better! It’s springtime and I thought it was the right time to do a butterfly craft! This would look great in a little girl’s room. There is something whimsical and magical about a butterfly. I always seem to “relate” to them.
{{real or fake}}

Let’s get started.

Monarch Butterfly Large Double Punch
Scissor All Purpose

Do you see how perfect!!

Once you get them all punched out you need to bend them all in half. This will make them look like they are flying!

There you have it! You very own BURST of BUTTERFLIES!!!! The great thing about this project is that you can make all of the butterflies one certain color or you can use your favorite two colors. It’s all up to you! You can use glitter paper, paper with designs on them, or construction paper! This makes it very affordable.

If you really want you can punch out of loose leaf paper and color them or use markers to add details! See, there are SO MANY things you can do with these magical babies!

Sending you butterflies from all over the world,

Hey y’all!! Happy GOOD FRIDAY!!!
I am not quite sure how I am actually typing right now because I ate SO much crawfish today my fingers are FULL….I could just feel my stomach expanding as I slowly swallowed each and every yummy crawfish!

It’s almost Easter time and you know my motto “it’s never too late to get it done”… If you want to spice up some plastic eggs for your Easter table then get this craft done ASAP! Just don’t accidentally EAT one!!! ((haha))

You want to start by getting some PERFECT PLASTIC  eggs. I think these babies are around 2 dollors a bag!

I used four main ingredients for this project.
1.Mod Podge  (I get this from Michael’s Arts and Crafts) I brush the Mod Podge on the egg then sprinkle glitter so it dries on there!
2. Martha Stewart Glitter  (Just incase you have NEVER used this glitter now is the time! You will fall in love)
3.  Martha Stewart glitter glue set
4.  Martha Stewart brushes

These nuggets are amazing!

I tell ya, these look so good I just want to take a bite out of one!

I hope everyone is STILL enjoying this wonderful FRIDAY night! Enjoy your “EASTER” weekend and come back tomorrow for MORE EASTER fun!

Giving you a BIG hug through the computer,

DIY: Garden GNOMES

Happy SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!   I think my mouth is still OPEN from the halftime show. I can’t even get over the fact that MADONNA is still the hottest performer alive! There is nothing like her. Maybe that’s because I grew up with her and she was the most daring person I knew as a child. She has a new album coming out and if you click HERE you can pre-order it!!! I just did!!!

I wanted to squeeze in a fun little craft before my hectic week started. I LOVE gnomes. Maybe it’s that little “red” pointy hat that make me smile. I wanted to make some little plant stakes for some of my lonely plants. We had a really cold winter and my plants are coming alive again. Figured I could make some “friends” for them!

It all came back when I got this book. I had a credit at a book store for sending in some old books and one day I went in the store and found it. I had this book when I was little and didn’t think I would ever see it again. When I was a little girl I used to watch “The world of David the Gnome”.  Do you remember it? It’s BASED off of this book!!!I will post a clip at the bottom of this post!!!!

The book is called “Gnomes” by Huygen and illustrated by Dutch artist Rien Poortvliet. You can order a copy HERE  if you are interested! I will share some fun facts that are in the book and maybe you will fall in love with garden gnomes like I have!

* The adult male weighs 300 grams and the female weights 250grams * You would typically only come in contact with the male because the females stay home *ONLY the males wears a peaked red cap *They are 7 times as strong as a man *When it’s really cold the male keeps his hands warm by placing them under his beard *They speak their own language, only animals can understand them.* Goodnight is “slitzweitz” and Thank You is ” te diews”.

Let’s get started!!!

Grab some air dry clay. You can get this at walmart or any craft store. I order my stash from from the Crayola website!

Grab some  wooden skewers.

Of course you will need red paint and if you are a glitter fanatic like me you will need red glitter! Grab a small detailing brush also. If you follow me then you KNOW my commitment to anything “Martha Stewart”.  I absolutely swear by everything and it is by FAR the best quality of products I have ever worked with.

I used Habanero for my paint. You can get it at Michaels Art’s and Crafts or just order it here. I used red corundum for my glitter and you can get it here.

Start by shaping your air dry clay into the shapes you want. I did two separate pieces for each one then put them together after. Make sure you stick them onto the skewers before they dry. You want them to dry around the wood.

Put some paint on the hat then sprinkle glitter on top!

Don’t forget when you paint your mushroom to leave some little white circles. It will be cute with a couple of these on top.

This is what your mushroom should look like. BEWARE, if you sprinkle glitter while the clay is WET it will stick and you will NOT be able to get it off! ( haha, go figure I learned this the hard way)… But don’t worry, if this happens it will only give your mushroom
“character”.

Tadahhhhh!!! Here are my cute little creations. I just love them and I can’t wait to make a ton of them to put in ALL of my plants. I think I will make them ALL different! I hope you enjoyed this craft and create whatever makes you happy. This clay is super fun and very easy to work with.

Oh, before I forget…here is the video of the cartoon I used to watch.

Sending you lot’s of gnome love,

Wowzers!!! I can’t believe it is already THURSDAY!!! RIGHT! I have been having so much fun making all of these crafts for you {{and for me}}!  The other morning while I was making my coffee I ran out of creamer. {wahhhhh}.  So the typical routine is to throw the empty bottle away, right! That is exactly what I would have normally done {UNTIL} my lightbulb went off! I thought “how cool would it be to use these instead of throwing them away..
And here you have it! JUST FOR YOU my little jaderbugs.
I hope you enjoy!!!
Ingredients:
The pieces do NOT have to be a certain size.  Use the size you like.
Are you having fun yet? OH and I am using “sparkle” Mod Podge!!!! When it dries it is full of GLITTER!!!
Don’t worry about being perfect! It’s about having fun!!!
This is what it will look like still damp!
OMGJB {{ohmygodjaderbomb}} HOW FLIPPING FULL OF CUTENESS  ARE THESE LITTLE SUCKERS.
Wishing my coffee pot could bring me another cup of coffee,

MY TOP 10 of 2011

Can you believe it’s almost 2012. I think it kinda freaks me out a little. I remember 2000 like it was yesterday. Remember how everyone thought the end of the world was gonna take place in 2000. I never believed all of that. Maybe it is the way the human mind thinks. I am actually SO READY for 2012. I KNOW this coming year will be so much better than 2011. I am so excited for the fun and exciting things coming up!  This year is already starting off amazing but that’s ONLY because I make every situation in my life positive. Nothing is meant to take over us, but you have to remember that.  It can be very hard at times but you HAVE to know that you are better than what ANYONE thinks of you!  I actually love wifey’s quote “WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK ABOUT YOU IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS”. Don’t you just love that!  What about the SAINTS! I am so very proud to be from LOUISIANA, lemme tell ya! I can’t wait for them to win the SUPERBOWL again.

Top 10 things you need to ring in the NEW YEAR!

If you ever wondered what you should wear for a “re-donk-ulous”  party then you have to keep reading this blog post! I put together a little set of things that ANYONE can pull off for this BIG party coming up!

* A black turtleneck looks great on everyone, plus black is slenderizing.

* Sequin dress shorts will surely make you stand out, and they make your legs look long when you put them with high heels

* Bright pumps! Find a color that you really like because this will be the “item” to make your whole outfit!

* Bright clutches will look like bright sparkles in your hands. For sure a show stopper!

* Have fun with bangles! The more you add the better your wrist will look {trust me}

* Fake black glasses, unless you really wear them then you can buy some Ray Bans that look like this!

* If you haven’t heard of NARS now is the time! LE-GIT-NESS is all I am saying!

* More NARS~ This lipstick is fabulous! Make sure you get the color “carthage”

* I mean, we can’t forget about nails right. Grab a bold “matte” color and slap on some glitter over it. Just think how good your hands will look holding a mug of beer, (haha) or WINEEEEEEEEEE. { I just said that in a longggg deeppp voiceeee, I think you should too!}

I hope all of these things make your night a lil more fun! Don’t forget to smile, hug and make grand memories because in the end NOBODY can take memories.

*here is a lovely photo from a recent photo shoot with seester, isn’t she just so beautiful*
