There are a few things in life that make my heart flutter.
Prednisone, a good kiss, seeing my son every afternoon and glitter. All shades of glitter.

This Saturday, November 15th Michaels will be hosting a super rad Holiday Pinterest Party! When you go in you will get a list of “Pinterest-Inspired holiday projects and an exclusive coupon to use when purchasing products needed for your project.

Michaels sent me a list of every single project they will be creating on Saturday and asked me if I wanted to create one using a little Jaderbomb love to it. HELLER! It’s on like donkey kong. BTW: Did you see my Dream Tree I did with Michaels!

Michaels created these super soft and delicate glittered jar candles and I decided to bring out the fun and whimsical side of glittered candles.

Michaels_DreamTree_A01

Obviously I can’t settle with just pink glitter and an eiffel tower…. SMH

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the pink candle that Michaels created (Michaels instructions here). I personally have a thing for black and white with POPS of color. Maybe it’s the fact that I simply can’t be satisfied long enough with color. Plus every color in the world looks better with back and white. Preferably stripes! I used fun colorful beads to wrap around my candle but you can use any beads that make your heart flutter.

P.S. Black and White striped ribbon is the BEST. michaels holiday pinterest party

When I saw these alphabet beads for about 3 seconds I felt 10. I used to give these to my friends as “BFF” bracelets. I am now reminded that I need to buy 5 more packs of these. So stay on the look out, you might be getting BFF bracelets! CHRISTMAS JEWELS

Create any word you want and use baker’s twine to connect the letters.
BLACK AND WHITE NECKLACE

I used flexible jewelry wire to wrap wooden beads around the top of candle. This adds a little, ok a HUGE pop of color. If you squint your eyes they kinda look like NERDS. #JS BEADED NECKLACE

Carefully wrap your beaded wire around the base of your candle or the top portion of candle. It’s pretty much that simple! Last, tie your beaded words the same way.

P.S. If you are wondering what “HEAUX” means, it’s sorta the cajun way we write things. Don’t ask, we have our own language in Louisiana! HEHE

Hope to see you at the store Saturday! If you can’t make it in person and want to shop Michaels online, you can use promo code MERRYSALE for 40% off any one regular price item, now through November 15.

I love this glitter. It has a matte look to it and it goes perfect with the shiny spiders!

vintage glitter

The first thing you want to do is place the spider on your finger, add mod podge to the end then sprinkle glitter on top.

Once your spiders are dry, grab a pair of scissors and cut the ring section off.

How gorgeous are these spiders…

Start applying the spiders on the pumpkin by adding a little hot glue to the back of them, then placing on the pumpkin. That simple. This is all we are doing with the cream pumpkin.

For the matte black pumpkin you will start by spraying the pumpkin with Krylon chalkboard paint. Make sure to do this in a well ventilated space.

DSC_0540

Take your black spiders and repeat all the steps from the cream pumpkin. Once all of the spiders are glued on spray your pumpkin again with the chalkboard paint.

Here is a quick tip: Remove loose strands of hot glue with a heat gun, or a blow dryer. It heats up the thin strands then they magically disappear.

Halloween is my favorite holiday as you all may know. So I teamed up with Fiskars to create a fun Halloween project just for YOU!

Sometimes I want to be a kid again. I tried it last year but I think everyone knew I was not a kid. Dammit. I lost a little weight in the last few weeks so maybe I will have a good chance this year. Last year I dressed as Frida Kahlo and boy did I look just like her. The guy at the grocery store thought I was a “geisha girl”…

Epic fail. How could anyone not realize who I was!? Moving on.

Sometimes when everyone is buying Halloween costumes they might find it difficult to find a matching treat bag to sling on their arm. I am making things super easy for you this year by showing you how to create your very own using Duck Tape! When you get to the Duck Tape isle in whatever store you are in you will realize just how many options you have to choose from. It’s like being in a sticky candy store. If you love bags check out these glittered lunch bags.

So head on over to the Fiskars website ( See below the picture) and get the full tutorial. You won’t believe what I used to make these bags with, besides Duck Tape. Did I mention the bags are filled with glow in the dark stickers. Yes indeed!

Today I will be showing you how to make Chalkboard Labels ! I love these for the simple fact that they can be used for practically anything and everything. There are a few different ways to create these labels and I obviously opted out for the “lazy” version which means my cardboard labels are already cut out.

Chalkboard labels, Prints and Chalkboards in general are popping up all over the place so this is the perfect time to share this with you.  Check out these antique chalkboard mason jars I created for Michaels, they are great to store things in

If you have a certain paper punch that you love you can use it to make labels also. It would certainly have to be a durable punch to go through cardboard but it’s possible.

Let’s get started!

diy chalkboard labels tutorial

You will need: Cardboard Tags | Chalkboard Paint | Chalk Markers | Brush chalkboard label suppliesI am absolutely in love with this chalk paint from FolkArt. It’s convenient and very compact. It also comes in multiple colors! folk art chalk paintThese particular tags came with ribbon on them. Make sure to remove the ribbon before you start painting them.

black chalk paint diyIf you love chalk then you will love these markers! It works just like a paint pen and the best part is when it dries it looks just like chalk! You can also wipe the chalk away with a wet washcloth and start over again.

chalk markersOnce they are dry, have fun drawing whatever you want on them.

how to use chalk markersI thought it would be cute to re-apply the ribbon and attach them to coffee bottles. You can buy a 6 pack and give them to someone as a gift with personalized labels. chalkboard labels tutorial
