Well here goes another great month of “crafty” crafts. I am having so much fun doing the 12 month’s of Martha every month. This month I received a great big box box full of Martha goodies. Of course I always open the box and the first thing I think of is “What can I make with all of these materials”…
Then I realize that would end up looking like a hot mess, haha. I have always wanted an herb garden, you know the kind that is small, cute and you can keep it in your kitchen. Can you believe I finally made one! You can too. Seriously, it so easy and fun.
Let’s get started Jaderbugs!
Isn’t this herb garden so cute! My favorite thing is that it looks quite elegant with the little white stripes wrapping all the way around the container. I never thought I would wrap yarn around something to display in my home but this yarn is so “fannnnncyyy”. (Say that like you are from the South)
*Decorative paper
*Layering Punch, Flourish Frame
*Craft Glue
*Mambo Yarn
*Baker’s Twine
*Herbs
*Wooden Skewers
You can purchase all of the items I used by clicking on the linky links!
Get together whatever herbs you love and some garden soil.
I wanted to show you how beautiful this mambo yarn is up close.
You can braid it, knot it, wrap it or make jewelry. You can even use it as a trim for home décor and fashion accessories.
It’s made of 75% Acrylic, 7% Wool, 9% Nylon, 6% Viscose, 3% Angora
This new double punch punches a solid shape and the die cut shape. I think this is the coolest thing ever.
Another good thing is it stands up right on their own, which makes for easy storage.
See, you can get the solid shape in a jiffy.
If you don’t want the solid shape you can get the frame. This frame will fit completely around the solid shape.
Get any container you want to put your herbs in.
Start by adding a dab of hot glue on the container and gently placing the yarn on top of it.
Continue wrapping until it is all covered. I love it just like this, right!
Once you are completely done fill that baby up with soil and herbs.
With your double punch, punch out the solid shape and the frame. When you buy flowers or herbs they have that little label in the soil that says the name of herb and how to take care of it. I cut the picture from the label off then glued it on top of the solid shape. When done place the frame over it.
On the back I put the name of the actual herb just incase I forget.
If you want the make the labels I just showed you you will need:
*Glue
* Skewer
*Baker’s Twine
Spread a little craft glue on the stick. Rub it thoroughly over the stick with your finger.
Wrap the baker’s twine around the stick while the glue is still wet.
VOILA! This is what you will be left with. A hunka burning love on your kitchen window seal!
I hope you enjoyed this post and would really love if you shared this wonderful craft!
