February Challenge creative 1 Happy Monday! I am so excited to share some denim crafts with you today! As a Michael’s Maker I was challenged by my friends at Michael’s to do something magical with their new line of denim products – Make Market. If you have not seen this line yet, now is the time! I can remember the day’s I would beg my friends for their old jeans so I could rip and tear them up. I used to always use denim and let me tell you this makes things NICE!

I love the variety of denim that is available. They have bows, ribbon, bags, canvases, wraps, cuts pieces and so much more!!! I started thinking about what I would make with the denim and then it dawned on me. I have a new chicken and she needs a basket to sleep in and I need a new basket to get our fresh eggs with. VOILA!

Here I am so excited next the denim line. Not cheesy at all! (hehe)

photo (10) 2 & and chicken. If you don’t have a chicken or fresh eggs you can still make this basket and use it for decoration or fill it with goodies and give to someone as a gift.  silkie chicken I simply love this ribbon. I would be a little happier if they made some with adhesive backing! I mean then I could stick them on practically everything! blue jean crafts Step 1: Open a pack of ribbon and start on a corner, weaving the ribbon over and under the openings. It’s truly simple but time consuming.

Step 2: When you get all the way around cut the ribbon and tie on the corners.
1 Once you get your first stripe start with your next one. You will start seeing the stripes appear and then…you will start to fall in love!

To make the chalkboard name tag: Cut the twine, write your message with a chalk marker then tie to the front of the basket.  3 I bought this fluffy blue jean ribbon to add to the front of the basket. I love that it’s a clip. I can take it on and off and use it for other projects! 4 To make the chalkboard -n- denim planter: purchase a chalkboard pot or paint one and grab some denim -n- lace ribbon. Cut a piece and tie around the top of pot!  Grab your chalk marker and write your message on the pot! 5

7 Voila! It’s all done. You now have your magical denim basket to gather your eggs or goodies in.  You know… This would make a GREAT EASTER BASKET.

Michaels has named denim the craft trend of 2015! Denim has always been a wardrobe staple and now it’s emerging in crafts and home décor.

  • If you’re looking for some spring project inspiration, take a look at Michaels’ new Make Market line for DIY project and home décor ideas – all made with simple, on-trend surfaces and textures like chalk, denim, galvanized, burlap and cork.
  • Michaels Makers readers are getting the inside scoop on an upcoming craft contest that will send one lucky participant on the trip of a lifetime to Paris. Check back on my blog March 2 to get all the details on how to enter.

Hope you enjoyed this post! See you in the next one!!! xoxo, jaderbomb

Happy almost Easter! I think my favorite thing about Easter is decorating eggs.  I dont know why but each year I try to push myself to create fun and crazy egg decor. Wanna know how many different eggs I have decorated this year! Pretty much NONE! I know how can I be a craft blogger and walk with my head high in this moment.

I should walk with SHAME! With my non egg decorating self. Well off to bigger and better things, which is showing off crafts that other bloggers created. You know, the ones that walk around proud of how many different types of easy easter crafts they created. BOOYAH! You just made my day a whole lot easier. Today’s post is super sassy and fun! Come on, it’s EGG CANDLES. I will show you how to transform boring eggs in your fridge into a great centerpiece for your table. You can even use them individually if you choose too! Did I mention they smell DELICIOUS!

you will need

I bought my blocks of wax from Wal-Mart. Completely affordable!

Take your ice pick and lightly crack a piece of the egg. Then you can start peeling the egg to create a hole at the top.

This is what they will look like when done.

Make sure to rinse out the egg completely. We want to get rid of any egg smell.

I used my burner to melt my wax. If you have a ceramic dish you can do it in the microwave but please be careful. It can get really hot. If you decide to do it in the microwave make sure you do it for a minute, stir it then continue doing that until it is completely melted.

I filled a pretty antique dish with moss that I bought from Hobby Lobby.

Next, lay out your eggs in the moss.

Gently place your wicks in the eggs.

Then start pouring your wax. I used a plastic spoon, it works really good.  Once you fill them all up let them sit for a few hours to harden. Trim the wick with scissors and voila!

There you have it. A cute arrangement for any space. Just remember if you make them in different scents that when you light them they might not smell great mixed together. I recommend doing them in one scent if you plan on lighting multiple eggs at a time. I hope you enjoyed this post, see you in the next one Jaderbugs!

Happy Saturday YALL!
It’s such a pretty day outside. The windows are open. The birds are singing. The radio is blasting. I’m baking. Making easter baskets.
Pretty much loving every second of every second! (whatever that means) haha

I had to share this craft with you because EVERYONE loves rice krispy treats {{{right}}}

You will need :

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
  • OR
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies cereal
  • OR
  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Cocoa Krispies cereal
  •  and lot’s of LOVE
    How To:

    1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
    2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated. OH I forgot to tell you. I used Cocoa Krispies instead of the plain ones!!!! If you have not tried doing this you are TOTALLY missing out!!! Here is a perfect excuse to make a big batch!!!

You will need some plastic eggs.

After you let your mixture cool off a little bit stuff a little bit in each end. You do not have to fill it up at this point. When it’s closed it will fill up the whole egg. I like to spray some pam in my hands before handling the mixture. It makes it so much easier and it will not stick to you!

Tadahhhh! Can you imagine the look on someone’s face when they open a plastic egg (thinking there will be like… candy in it) and they find THIS! It will be a picture perfect moment!!!!

Well gotta run. I have ALOT more to do today! But stay tuned later on because I have a SUPER FUN “night time” egg craft for ya!
Sending you virtual rice krispy treat eggs to eat for the next month,

Hey y’all!! Happy GOOD FRIDAY!!!
I am not quite sure how I am actually typing right now because I ate SO much crawfish today my fingers are FULL….I could just feel my stomach expanding as I slowly swallowed each and every yummy crawfish!

It’s almost Easter time and you know my motto “it’s never too late to get it done”… If you want to spice up some plastic eggs for your Easter table then get this craft done ASAP! Just don’t accidentally EAT one!!! ((haha))

You want to start by getting some PERFECT PLASTIC  eggs. I think these babies are around 2 dollors a bag!

I used four main ingredients for this project.
1.Mod Podge  (I get this from Michael’s Arts and Crafts) I brush the Mod Podge on the egg then sprinkle glitter so it dries on there!
2. Martha Stewart Glitter  (Just incase you have NEVER used this glitter now is the time! You will fall in love)
3.  Martha Stewart glitter glue set
4.  Martha Stewart brushes

These nuggets are amazing!

I tell ya, these look so good I just want to take a bite out of one!

I hope everyone is STILL enjoying this wonderful FRIDAY night! Enjoy your “EASTER” weekend and come back tomorrow for MORE EASTER fun!

Giving you a BIG hug through the computer,

Paper Butterflies Tutorial

I am sitting here eating cool ranch doritos and watching Dog the Bounty Hunter. LEMME tell you how nice this is! I forgot what life was like without reality television. Remember the Cosby’s… Seinfeld… I still love those shows!

{{ Oh wait, what about Roseanne!! I LOVED that show growing up }}

I can’t wait to share with you fun and exciting EASTER crafts the rest of this week! It’s time to decorate and I will be your assistant ((wink wink))

I could not wait to share this craft with you because it’s perfect for EASTER and SPRING. I mean, if you LOVE butterflies then you will keep these suckers up year round! It is absolutely the easiest craft ever and you will have a blast doing it!

Let’s get started Jaderbugs

Get a Monarch Butterfly Punch. You can order one or get it at Michaels Arts and Crafts.

Grab some scrap book paper and get to punching!

Place your paper in the slit and give it one good punch. You barely have to press it. It really works so easily!

How pretty is this!

I am using floral wire which you can get at your local craft store.

Get your handy dandy glue gun! This glue gun has dual temperature  so it’s really cool to work with! A must have for your “wish” list!

They come out FLAWLESS!

After you punch your butterfly out put a line of hot glue along the back of it then place a piece of your floral wire in the glue.

I like to glue two or three butterflies on top of each other. It adds a whimsical touch. Make sure if you do this you separate the butterflies.

Sending you butterflies to make your world brighter,

Howdy my little JaderBugs~!! How are ya! Sorry I been kinda out lately but I had a death in my family and didn’t really have time to blog much.  But I am back and running!!!

Also, if you have not seen my {bloopers} video check it out, it’s super funny!!!

Decorate with Eggs

Howdy my little JaderBugs~!! How are ya! Sorry I been kinda out lately but I had surgery this week and didn’t really have time to blog much.  But I am back and running!!!
OMG, while I was on my “meds” I started thinking about a craft to do with eggs.  I didn’t want to do the typical egg craft that I see all over so here goes MY EGG CRAFT!!! I think it’s absolutely precious because it’s very crisp and clean looking but has the spunk that I adore.  I used my favorite markers of ALL time, my BIC markers.  Check out my post I put up a while back when BIC sponsored me for a craft party!   So exciting I tell ya~
Also, if you have not seen my {bloopers} video from last week check it out, it’s super funny!!!
These are the colors that I chose but you can use the ones that tinkle your heart:
Plumtastic Purple
Hot Aqua
Sunset Orange
Polynesian Purple
Tranquil Teal
Stone Gray
Tiki Hut Tan
Pink Flamingo
Key Lime
√ Tuxedo Black
Yellow Blaze
Peach Parfait
Fandango Pink
p.s. you can also use fishing wire or any other string you can think of, i just love the look of twine.  don’t forget to get personal, splatter on all kindsa different sequins on them!!!
p.s.  this process is fairly simple.  after your first 2 eggs you will figure out what way works best for ya!
p.s.  seriously, how cute is this! makes me think of my polka dot bak-ini, fa reel
p.s. do you want to eat these are is it just me?
p.s. btw, you don’t have to use black to outline your polka dots.  i just happen to love the color black around things all pretty n stuff 🙂
p.s. ok, on the left if you look good enough, you can see the FIRST sequin i put up.  but to the right you will see an egg starting to become engulfed in them. did you know i love all things glittery and shiny!!! like ADDicted!!!
p.s. play around with this part.  you do’t have to put them in any certain order or anything.  it’s your time to be creative!
p.s.  you can hang these anywhere and your house will be sparkly and happy
p.s. see!!! i told ya! BTW I was supposed to post this but never got around to it.  i spruced up some things in ma crib and painted them all summery {{is that a word?}} lol
