Antique UPDATE

I  finally put up the pictures from our antique journey in Perry, GA.  {btw I am using georgia font}.  I know this first picture does not have ANYthing to do with antique’s but I wanted to share it with you.   This stunning {lit up} sign is what I relate to “relax time“.  This sign means we finally made it.  Time to start putting our socks back on.

I have to tell you about our first “antique” journey.  We packed the ride up and had everything ready for a long, eventful day of rummaging through other people’s goods stuff.  15 minutes into the journey we found ourselves staring at an empty, abandoned antique store {that our gps brough us to}.  So we turned around and decided to look for more.  My “seester” {amelia} said hey, they have this one on Macon street, let’s go check it out“.
We said “ok“. When we drove up, we realized it was a NEW business.

Even though this saddened us we were still tempted to go inside.  I mean HELLO…Look at this building.  Wouldn’t you want to go in also! PLUS my favorite color was EVERYWHERE!!!
The stellar little place is Two Purse-N-Alities. You can click HERE to check it out!!!
Thanks Ya’ll for a fun time! Below are some of the things I bought there!

Did I mention above that we went STRAIT ——> home after that stop.  We were pooped actually.  The very next day we woke up with another wild hair to antique it up.  We were smart this time and googled first! It was successful.  After a 20 minute ride we finally had an “ahhhhhhhh” moment.

After arriving at The Big Peach Antiques, Gifts and Collectibles we took off inside and never looked back. The things inside were timeless, elegant, smelly and just beautimus {is that even a word?}…

These are just SOME of the things that caught my eye.  I mean this place was HUGE!Like 28,000 sq feet and 160 dealers huge.  Did I mention how orderly and neat this place was.  In the 4th picture below there is a desk, a wooden desk.  As I was slowly making my way from the back to the front I ran across this sucker.  I quickly looked at the price {i just knew it would be over $400}…IT SAID $30.  WHAT!!??!!?? This could not be real.  I RAN to the front and grabbed the guy, ran back with him and said “I WANT IT“. There was no way I was passing this deal up.  Funny looking back because I ran to the front like it was black friday and there was a line behind me waiting to snag it up too.  {there was like 6 people in the place}.  Can you imagine how I looked!. Oh, and I had no idea how I was gonna get it back because I did bring ALOT of luggage and a dog for the first time in my LIFE.

Some more things from this little BIG place. My seester looks so good with a vintage feather {we think} headband on.  I mean, it was by the dead fox scarf.  Amelia bought this wine bottle adorned with stainless steel add on’s. SO CUTE.

Here are the things I bought.  A vintage linen apron, an old snuff bottle and a Annie Oakley print for the “special gurl in ma wurl.
And my wonderful desk.  Thanks Ga for always bringing a smile to my face.
P.S.  obviously you know that the desk fit in my vehicle but incase you did not see the room that was left for Ceaux Ceaux, you can check it out here!!!

How to make a T Shirt Quilt

Over the Christmas holidays, I learned something about myself that I never knew. Have you guessed it yet???? I am a quilter. I am in LOVE. Really! I am in love with quilt making.  Who woulda ever thunk it. It is actually fascinating, the whole process I mean.  Let me tell you the story of how this all happened.

One day I was in JoAnn fabrics looking for some fabric {go figure}and I spotted a stash of little fabric pieces called quarter rounds.  I instantly fell in love and had to buy them.  ALL OF THEM. Now mind you I had no idea what I was gonna use these for but I just knew I would put them to good use sooner or later.

Below is a picture I took the DAY I bought them.  I love the colors, patterns and brightness of the fabric.  Don’t you just love them too!
After alot of brainstorming I figured out that I wanted to make a quilt.  I couldn’t  imagine not using all of these together so making a quilt seemed like the most logical thing to do. Did I tell you I  NEVER made a quilt in my LIFE!!!  Ironically I have a good friend who’s mom quilts.  It could not have worked out any better because she wanted to teach me.  It is so nice when you meet someone and they love what they do so much that they would spend their precious time teaching someone like me how to do it.

Since you are wondering what I made I will tell you. I mean, you obviously know by now that I am making a “quilt” but, I made a T-Shirt quilt.  Well, with MUCH help from that little angel.  Good thing is, she did teach me everything I need to know to pursue my DREAMMM of being a quilt maker.
I wanted to make a quilt for “that special gurl in ma wurl” and I knew she would just love it!  Just going through the old T-shirts and picking out which ones would be the best to use was so much fun.  Made me feel very good about what I was doing.  After I picked out all of the shirts I arranged them with the pieces of fabric.  Lotsa mixing and matching I tell ya!!!
Just look how beautiful these colors are in the shirt below!!!
They just don’t make shirts like this anymore!!!
You know I had to add a special touch along the edge of the quilt.  I love stars. Not really the look of them on things but just the idea of them.  I guess what I am saying is they are very personal to me and they make me smile.  SO! “the special gurl in ma wurl” now has them on the edge of her quilt.
Listen to this~ I had SO many shirts to choose from and it seemed like I could NEVER narrow it down to just 16 (for one side)…So… it’s double sided, kinda like double tape, kinda like {double the pleasure}. Speaking of pleasure, where are the double mint twins? Does anyone know.
Now! Here below is my FIRST quilt done all by myself.  It’s not actually complete yet but here is what I have so far! I figured you would want to see that I have followed through with my word {of being a quilter}…Right! I had some fabric left over from the T-Shirt quilt and since I loved it so much I felt it was necessary to use it.  I also threw in some other fabric I had.  I love the bohemian feel to it!!! I cut every 4×4 square and let me tell you the time this takes.  Did I mention that when you are done cutting you then have to —sew— each square together.  Ahhhhh….Stay tuned for the finished product!!!
This is the back side that I chose for the quilt. I know you are thinking “Jaderbomb, this does not match”.  But it does.  Just trust me once these two beautimus pieces are together you would swear they WERE the double mint twins:)
Before I go I have to tell you that a friend of mine posted a blog yesterday and she put up a picture of her and some friends in a muumuus. You can see her blog HERE! She really is a cutie and her blogs are awesome! It actually caught me by surprise because I was putting this picture up today!   Me and my Amelia “my seeester” always wore these dresses! I will never forget the day we bought these. In Mexico, and we both could not decide which color we wanted.  {i still wish I would of got the turquoise}… I think that is the actual day when I fell in love with prints, colors and fabric.  How does this dress have anything to do with this post!?!?! I am sure you are thinking that.  Well this picture is on my desk and I look at it DAILY!!! The day I spotted “that” fabric I immediately related it to the feeling I feel when I see this picture and the way I felt as a little girl wearing it. I felt ALIVE, BRIGHT, HAPPY, CONTENT and BEAUTIFUL
Oh! BTW. I used the word QUILT 16 times in this post

Feathers & Frames

Hey friends! I know, I know, it’s been quite some time since I did a (craft blog) but I have really good excuses…swear~ For some reason I have been blogging lately about things thats I have been DOING!!! Not like “craft doing” but like where I have been and things that I have been “DOING”…You get it.
The good news is, I’m totally not in trouble with you….BECAUSE:  the {universe} told me it was fine.  Did I mention to you that “the universe is a SHE“? Pretty flipping awesome right! Since you asked I will tell you how I “found” out…

A friend of mine who’s name I will NOT say {mary buckheit} aka——> maryside on you tube broke the news to me. I was kind of shocked because I thought “she” was a “he”…. Not sure why but I am glad to know I, yes I was wrong.  So, thanks MARRRRRYYYYYYYY for making my new year start of even better~~
First things first:
*How was your new year?
*What did you get over the Holidays!
*Have you missed my face!
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, time to move on to the craft 🙂
*and when i say any frame i mean any.  as you can see below i am using a new frame, which only cost $10 at hobby lobby and i used a 50% coupon, so it ended up costing like $3.  but if you don’t have the money to go out and buy a new one then go dig in some old frames and bring one back to LIFE {ahhhhhhhhhh}
*really, any feathers will work.  if you have an old boa that you used to wrap around your neck in your younger days, bring it on OUT of the closet {literally}…

*now is when you let your “craftiness” come out. add as many as you would like..remember it’s your world and i just live in it {as your servant telling you cheap things to do to improve my YOUR life}
*i like to use these glass beads because they sorta have a flat back to them and it makes it very easy to place on a flat surface
*wow, it’s coming to life…
*and this is the final result. a cheap, easy, crafty craft to make you smile, and of course ME…
peace. love. jaderbomb

Boots, Buckets and Pickles

First things first.  Yesterday was a GOOD day!  I am sure many of you don’t know that I broke 2 of my toes the on December 23rd and I was stuck wearing a big black boot.  I know, I know what kind of person am I to not share that with you…..{i swear i still love you}!  Soooo the story since you asked.  I had been up for [days and nights] wrapping presents in my studio a.k.a my hideaway workplace and I was bringing out the last batch of presents when I realized a bucket was in my way…
Now I know you are thinking to yourself how bad could a bucket possibly be….let me tell you.
1.  the bucket was BIG {like 5 gallons BIG}
2. I thought I could lightly kick it out of my way but what I didn’t realize is that when my foot went back to kick all of a sudden I had super power strength and thought it was best to kick it as hard as possible…{so i reared back and tried to kick the winning field goal}
3.  the bucket was FULL
4. full of pickles
Did I tell you that the bucket did not budge. Ok… you get it
Oh~! In a fit of rage because it hurt so badly I decided {well my brain did but I didn’t} to kick it again to show it who was boss.
i lost.
Yesterday was the 1st day I wore shoes {normal} ones all day long.  I got to sport my brown kicks at an LSU v/s Tenn Vols game.  It was a blast… but now my toe is THROBBING.  xoxo
