Make a Cork Necklace

Howdy all you lil JaderBUGS out there!!! It’s a big ole Saturday and I am so happy “blogger” is back up and running.  I seriously began having withdrawals. CUH_RAZY!!! I have been thinking of some cool things you could do with corks and I thought this craft was really simple, cheap and FUN!!! Did I mention yet {{just how cool it is}}???? 🙂
Really, it MIGHT cost you um…1.00. 
The felt I used cost a little bit more than just the plain colors.  I think it cost around 1.25 for a sheet of it.  This is only because it has a design.  The cool thing with this craft is that you can still see some of the felt in between the corks so if you pick felt with a design you will indeed see some it, which looks GREAT!!!
We all know you can find plenty of corks laying around your house!!!

Make a Paint Sample Lamp Shade

Hey my little Jaderbugs!!! I totally have been MIA lately and you can now slowly walk out of the closet and stop crying… why? Because I’m back you little suckers. I tell ya, life seems to get crazy hectic all at the same time. RIGHT!!!! The other day I was “mopping” (yes I am OCD) and I noticed a lamp that looked {{boring}}. I mean don’t get me wrong, it was super cute and prolly one of my favorite lamps at one time, but that “time” is long gone.  While mopping I was thinking of something I could do to dress it up but at the same time keep it cute and sassy. By the time I finished mopping I STILLLLLLLL didn’t think of what I could possibly do UNTIL I opened a drawer. I tell ya, I have never had a drawer sing to me like this one did! As I slowly opened it I saw a HUGE stack of paint samples and the universe answered me.  I hope you enjoy this craft and remember, it’s not stealing if you get 1000 paint samples 🙂 I promise because I had like 2000.  Also, remember that you can do a lampshade in one particular color but in different shades of it and I bet that would be cute as a button!!

Seriously. How cute is this.  I know you can’t see it but when the light is ON it lights up in the coolest way. It’s almost like a “cheap” tiffany lamp{{{heheheheh}}}

PURPLE RAIN, PURPLE RAIN (sing it)

Ok. fine. I have been slipping lately.  Totally not like me since I adore my virtual family!!! 
{{scouts honor}}…
I have a couple of things totally worth sharing! In between countless hours stuck in books, recovering from surgery and sleeping, I am now finding a quiet moment to connect {with ya}!!! 
So last week was Festival International here! Lemme tell ya, this is the best part of the year. 
{{{{well besides mardi gras}}}}
You can ALWAYS find the coolest bands from across the world, the best food {eva}, the most unique crafts and art, the friendliest people and the best food.  wait. i mentioned that already.
🙂 
p.s. these suckers were SOOOOO cool! i think the best part was, well they were life size. AND MAGNIFICENT!!  i meant to get one of his cards but due to the paparazzi i was tied for time… {haha, you didn’t believe that did ya}


p.s. seriously. pictures do NOTHING! it was really crazy because they were all in this booth and it sorta felt like they were ALL watching you…. I mean, they were… in a weird stonehenge kinda way. 


p.s. these cumquats just pop with color and energy.  seriously.  this local artist makes them along with HUGE, MAGNIFICENT, BOOTIMUS, wind chimes.  i got one from “the special gurl in ma wurl” about 6 years ago and it has never seen pure sunlight.  well besides through the window!!!  i will NEVA put it outside {too scared for it’s safety} 


p.s see.  would you? didn’t think so.  


p.s. if you were dazed and confused walking the streets, these street flags reminded you that you were INDEED still aimlessly walking the festival streets. 


p.s ok. these {b holes} excuse my “french” were totally awesome but totally rude! I almost popped one behind the knee after he did this…. {you will see in the next picture}….they were HUGE… Like um…. 1000000 feet tall.. I kid you not.  


so they would make the people on the streets give them things like {a shoe} PROOF ABOVE and play “jokes” by putting them on something really high, obviously a regular human could not get it if they extended their arm but THESE BEASTS’ could.  well he put this woman’s shoe on top of this window and guess what.  it was hollow.  yep. you got it. the shoe fell in.  the BEASTS’ laughed.  they walked away.  left the woman SHOELESS.  swear.
{can you imagine walking festival streets with your BARE FOOT!!!!}} ewe. 

getting off of festival.  a couple of nights ago at like… um… 3 in the morning mother nature decided to stop in for a LOUD and NOISY visit.  i tried to ignore her because she was un-invited however my manners kicked in and i greeted her at the door.  all she wanted was a photo shoot.  lemme tell ya she was performing!!!! I got this profile picture of her and i think she i will like it when i email it to her.

p.s. i have these “purple hearts” alllll over in my back yard.  some may also know it at “wandering jew”…they are so beautiful and rich in color.  when outside they stay completely purple, year round.  i have noticed that when i cut them and keep them indoors for a period of time, they start turning GREEN!!! (does that mean i have a green thumb) 🙂
but seriously, go buy a plant and put it indoors. it does NOT have to be anywhere near sun. they just live.  i swear.
unless the energy in my house is just THATTTT good that they refuse to leave it.
