I am warning you now. This is a super long post but I just couldn’t help it because these “Mason Jar Christmas Gifts” are to dye for. I am so excited to be showing you my December post for Michaels as a Michaels Maker!♥
I am always making fun gifts to give my friends and family so when I had to come up a DIY gift for YOU I got all jittery inside and glitter started popping out of my eyes! There is a bonus at the end of the post, don’t miss it! I usually like making gifts that you can eat but I think this is a close race with hot chocolate chip cookies. Speaking of cookies I am baking some tonight and I can’t wait! I might just have to put some in a jar and mail to someone special!
The one thing I love about this gift is anyone can do this. It’s a fun way to dig out those small miniature trinkets that are all over your home and put them to good use. I mean you can literally add anything cute to the tops of these and you will make some heart smile!
Yes, I actually used styrofoam to sand my mason jar. I swear it works just as good as sand paper if not better! How gorgeous is a snow white mason jar. I have a feeling milk and ice would look REAL pretty inside…The best part of this craft is you can decorate the bases and the jars to your own personal liking. I grabbed these bases at Michaels in the wood section for a few dollars and painted them black with white stripes.
Use your imagination for bases. You would be surprised what you will come up with. You can make this craft with a base or without, totally up to you. I think it adds a little FUN to the whole thing. P.S. I bought all of my miniature items from Michaels. They have a whole section dedicated to people like me who loves ANYTHING MINI….. How can you not?
Instead of putting warm cookies inside (because they belong in my belly) you can put these battery operated candles inside. They add a little flicker to give off just enough light.
You can buy bottle brush trees from Michaels but if you want to get colored ones like I have in this post, come back tomorrow and I will show you how I made them!
HERE IS YOUR SPECIAL BONUS!!!
A fun way to gift wrap these babies!
♥Layout two two sheets of tissue paper
♥Overlap them
♥Place tape over the two where they overlap
♥Place mason jar in the middle and fold up the sides
♥Add twine and a label to seal the deal
