Today I will show you how to Decorate Paper Bags.

Well from what I gather it is almost Halloween around this joint. This means I get to display my favorite color everywhere in the house! Black that is.

I have to admit being the “DIY’ER” that I am sometimes crafts come to me and I just quickly make them. If they are good then they get posted. No lie, this was not planned but I just think it’s practical and can be used for many things in your life.

Sometimes I go through a period of doing fairly simple tutorials and then I do really complicated ones that require ton’s of pictures. Not sure why I do that but I do.

This one would surely fall under EASY!

Have you seen my Halloween Coffee Party yet?

What about my Vintage Crow Magazine Holder!

Decorate Paper Bags

It is honestly a craft that you would add your own imagination too so have fun with it. I made a quick video for you also.

Boo-Yah!  I don’t know about you but I love HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR. What do I love about it? EVERYTHING.

It doesn’t always have to be bloody and dark, ya know. Even though that’s the real way to celebrate this holiday.

I wanted to throw a black and white themed coffee party and I know you will love all of the little details. Witches “brew” is what we will call it.

If you love Halloween as much as I do then you need to check out these houses I made. Wear these shoes while trick or treating with your kids. I am in love with these black and white kitchens.

BLACK AND WHITE HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR

I know I would love to attend a spooky “brew” party, what about you? If you can’t find the items I used in this post you can click on ANY of the links below the pictures and order from one site! Hey, I am just trying to make your life easy.

I think everything looks clean and crisp. Kind of reminds me of a sterile hospital room.

Still want coffee?

HOW TO DIY YOUR HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR

I purchased these mugs from World Market and dressed up the handle with glitter. Glitter will always make things better.

EASY DECOUPAGE ON GLASS TUTORIAL PARTY MUGS To start you will place stencil tape around your handle. Coat the handle with a nice coat of Martha Stewart’s new decoupage. Sprinkle your favorite shade of glitter on the wet decoupage.

Of course I used classic black. Carefully peel the tape off before it dries. You can clean up your mug now easily. Check out what else I decoupaged.

HOW TO DECORATE FOR HALLOWEEN PARTY

Once I removed the tape I sprinkled some more glitter on them before they dried. When they are dry just dust them off with a brush. Remember to let these cure for about 28 days then you can wash them by hand or in the dish washer.

They will stay fully glittered if cured correctly. HOW TO DECOUPAGE ON GLASS

To add a little spark to the bottom of my mugs I decoupaged some insects to the bottom. When someone lifts their coffee mug a nice bug will be displayed on  the bottom! I think this is my favorite part of the party.

How clever are these test tubes! They come with sticky vintage labels that you can write on. I added a few different things inside of the tubes like chocolate covered coffee beans, strawberry milk and coffee cream. Anything that goes with a coffee party will work. HALLOWEEN PARTY DIY

I used some halloween adhesive paper to make flags. I wrapped a piece around a toothpick then cut the paper on the end. These are what my guests’ will stir their coffee with.

This month the world came to a sudden halt with the launching of this product —> Martha Stewart Decoupage.

Decoupage on glass? Why yes, this will become your next secret addiction.

This is not like your everyday decoupage, y’all. It’ the cream of the crop.

I purchased my pitcher and glasses from Target and they were completely affordable. That is always nice, incase you mess up 3 times.

I have to admit, Martha Stewart consistently impresses me but she really did it with these fabric flower embellishments. Pre-cut, why YES THEY ARE!

decoupaged-pitcher-cups

1) The first thing you will do is grab a little rubbing alcohol clean the surface. This will take care of those greasy little fingers that just touched it.  Wear gloves if you feel like touching it.

2) Grab your Durable Matte Finish Decoupage and roll that sucker on a flat table to mix it up. Please, for the sake of all the bubble makers out there don’t shake. We want to keep the bubbles in bubble-land not in the decoupage bottle.

3)Grab your soft bristle brush and apply a thin layer over the section you will be placing your flower. Don’t over do it, we just want to apply where the flower is going to be placed.

4)Quickly grab your flower and place it on top of your thin layer. Brush a light coat of decoupage on top to make sure it’s secure. Apply as many flowers as you want. Make sure you work at a good pace so the decoupage does not dry. The fabric embellishments are easy to put on however if you decide to use paper make sure to rub your finger over them to get any hidden air bubbles out. Set aside and let dry 1-2 hours.

When dry, the Durable Matte Finish Decoupage looks just like frosted glass. I almost flipped in my chair when I went back to look at them. I may have blurted out a few curse words that were purely out of excitement.

5) When you are finished applying your flowers get the 1 1/2 in 3.81 cm soft bristle brush and apply a thin coat over the entire glass. It’s important that you brush in the same direction when applying your final coat.

6) When done let them air dry 2-3 hours.

7) You can put as many layers as you want just make sure you allow drying time in between each layer.

8) Set this aside for 21 days to cure completely and guess what, this will be dishwasher safe!

You can really see in this picture how the decoupage looks like frosted glass. It is beautiful!

How to make a Decoupaged Candy Corn Lace Lamp

Decoupaged Lace Lamp

Happy Monday! It’s all about Martha Stewart Crafts decoupage supplies today

When I think of decoupage I always go back to that day in 1st grade when I coated my entire hand with Elmer’s glue. What was I thinking?

The only thing I was missing was painted lace which is why we are using some today for our lamp.

I mean, doesn’t anything look better with lace wrapped around it? Hopefully it won’t turn out like these tights I bought last year. Oh and incase you missed it check out this lace paper I made.

See the entire decoupage line here. I don’t think I will have enough day’s in the week to use all of these awesome products.

Today we will turn this boring lamp into an oversized lace candy corn. I know, I know that might seem hard but it’s easy with the materials we have.

You know I have not seen a lace candy corn inspired lamp floating around Pinterest lately so I figured I would give it a go.

lace-lamp-steps

The first thing you want to do is paint your lamp a light background color. Keep it simple because you want the lace to pop and not the lamp shade behind the lace.

how-to-paint-lace

Since a candy corn is bigger on the bottom I tried to mimic that with the lace size. This pack of decoupage lace trim worked perfectly since there were multiple sizes in it.

Once your lace is dry it’s time to start applying it to the lamp shade with the decoupage glue. This glue is super smooth and creamy and it’s easy to create a thin even coat with the decoupage brush.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and it gives you a ton of inspiration.  I am certain this will look yummy with all of my Fall decor. Maybe I will try to glue lace to my hand later!

Hi. My name is Mod Podge.

What? You didn’t know that? Ok so my name is Jaderbomb but if I could create a “craft kid” I would totally name “it” Mod Podge. If you follow my blog then you should be familiar with this container of AWESOMENESS! Seriously. It’s like magic in a container. A really pretty container.

My friend Amy Anderson wrote this AMAZING book  Mod Podge Rocks! Decoupage Your World.

She is also the founder of the blog Mod Podge Rocks!

I remember the first time I used Mod Podge. I coated my paper and freaked out because it was completely white. Being the crafter that I am I never read the instructions which simply stated it dries clear. I actually started crying because it was a craft I was working on for a couple of days and was VERY happy with the way it turned out. I thought I ruined it (no fist pump insert here).

UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING.

When my eyes landed on the craft I think my heart skipped a beat and instead of being happy about how the project ended my brain immediately started thinking about what it could do next with Mod Podge.

This is where the addiction started.

If you have never used Mod Podge or you have but are not aware of just how much you can do with it, then this book is for you. It has over 40 projects teaching you different ways you can use Mod Podge. The crafts in this book are fun and creative.  There are a ton of techniques and tricks in the book to make your experience using Mod Podge AMAZING!

This here is my friend Amy Anderson! Isn’t she cute as a button. (hehe) I wanted to show you a sneak peak of some of the crafts in the book. These are just the ones that really got my attention so put your seatbelt’s on because we are about to Mod Podge the world!

Ok. Bottom line. This is the cutest thing since sliced bread. I love working with bottle caps because you can put fun images in the center and make them very unique. I bet you would of never thought a now and later wrapper would be this cute on a person, right! Amy always proves us all wrong!

I love this stool on the left. It’s a great way to dress up any room in your house!
Check out the puzzle message board. Perfect for everyone!

I love taking something I have and adding a special touch to it.

Decorate a vintage suitcase…

Dress up your personal space with this fun Christmas glass block…

I love that the book is a soft cover. It really makes it easy to tote around or use while crafting. It’s filled with 128 pages of awesome material. The book is broken up into sections like:

WEARABLES
HOME DECOR
& HOLIDAY

In the beginning of the book there is a quick run down on each Mod Podge Primer. This is very helpful if you are not all that familiar with the product. Even if you are familiar it’s a great refreshment course!

Here are a few different Mod Podge Primers:

GLOSS
MATTE
SATIN
HARD COAT
FABRIC (LOVE)
PAPER
OUTDOOR (HELLOOOO)
SPARKLE (HEAVEN IN A CONTAINER BTW)
and a very fun Mod Podge product called:
DIMENSIONAL MAGIC

I promise you when you get this book your brain will be FILLED with ideas!
