How simple are blue mason jars. I love the simple fact that you can place one out on a table and it changes the whole outlook of your space. Today I will show you how to make a flower/plant holder with just a few ingredients. Check out my other craft I just did using a blue jar here. Let’s get started!

ingredients

*Blue Mason Jar
*Wire Cutters
*Screen
I got the screen from Home Depot a long time ago. I am not sure if they sell it in small pieces but you don’t need a lot of this. You can use this same process with a large pot to hold plants upright.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Lay your screen down on a flat surface. Place the lid facing downward on the screen and outline the lid with a marker. I like using a red one because it shows up great.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Next get your wire cutters and cut on the outline. Be careful doing this.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

When you are done cutting the screen you can put it in the lid. I keep my lid on a flat surface while putting the screen in.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

This is what it will look like after you put the screen in.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Carefully screw the lid back on. I love how the picture looks like it has water in it but it’s just the glass.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Snip your plants/flowers and pop them in your new mason jar.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

I went in my back yard and picked these lovely flowers! They are so stinking pretty right! I think if I could be a flower it would be a hydrangea.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. It’s super simple to make. These make great gifts also!

There is nothing better than going in your backyard with $2 glass bottles and in 30 minutes staring at beautiful faux milk glass for your home. That is the kinda stuff I live for. Let’s be real not everyone can afford to really make a FULL centerpiece with “real” milk glass. Thankfully I collect it but I am surely not putting in out on my table to get knocked over. Recently I did a tutorial on puffy paint vases so that is what we will use as our base for this tutorial.

I am in love with these bottles and I can’t wait to make so many more. Just think how gorgeous these will look for different holidays. You can do red ones for Christmas, brown ones for Thanksgiving and orange or black ones for Halloween. Did I mention these are so fun for kids? Ok let’s get started.

Remember these Neon Puffy Paint bottles that I made this week? You will have to do this first before we turn them into “Milk Glass”. Get the full tutorial HERE.

All you need to do is spray paint the bottles with about 3-4 coats. Don’t try to coat the bottle right off the bat. Spray thin coats and I promise eventually it will be opaque. If you try to make it opaque in the first layer it will start dripping. (trust me, haha)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Stay tuned for some other fun crafts this coming week!

How would you display these?

When I think of LOVE I imagine everything white, fluffy and full of Christmas lights. Whuhh? You don’t think that’s love? FINE, LOVE is fried chicken, cozy pj’s and a ice cold coca cola. Better! (teeeheee)

Seriously yesterday morning I woke up around 3am because this cough decided it wanted to get up and drink coffee, craft and watch tv. I can’t get rid of this darn cough y’all. If you have any home remedies please leave me a comment cause I need something that’s gonna work. So, I am up aimlessly walking around trying to figure out what I could do. I really didn’t care as long as it had to do with an upward position. It seems the “cough” only likes to act nice when I am not laying down.
I went to my studio and the first thing I saw was puffy paint. YES! I had some bottles soaking in water for another craft I was going to do but who cares, I just grabbed them.

Off to crafting I went. 6 am I was done with craft and already shot pictures. Wahooo let’s get started on these puffy paint vases.

Puffy Paint Vases

Are you flipping out. Cause I am. I think I am  a little 7 year old inside because anything that is bright still makes me super giddy all inside.

(the ones I used were sparkling water)

Soak your bottles in ice cold water. I don’t know why but this makes the paper come right off. I usually put them in the water for about 2 hours.

puffy-paint-vases-jaderbomb

See! It just peels off. I don’t put anything in the water btw.

puffy-paint-vases-jaderbomb

Look how purdy! You would never know these once were just sparkling water bottles.

puffy-paint-vases-jaderbomb

Choose your puffy paint colors and start puffing. (teehehe)
All you need to do is put dot’s in any pattern that you want. I just winged it and put dot’s down. I mean dont’ get me wrong, I had an idea of what I wanted before I started but I didn’t use a template.

How stinking cute are these. I kid you not, they were dry in 1 hour. Perfect last minute gift, right!

I hope you have a great Saturday and you enjoy puffing your paint. See ya in the next post Jaderbugs!

Well here goes another great month of “crafty” crafts. I am having so much fun doing the 12 month’s of Martha every  month. This month I received a great big box box full of Martha goodies. Of course I always open the box and the first thing I think of is “What can I make with all of these materials”…
Then I realize that would end up looking like a hot mess, haha. I have always wanted an herb garden, you know the kind  that is small, cute and you can keep it in your kitchen.  Can you believe I finally made one! You can too. Seriously, it so easy and fun.

Let’s get started Jaderbugs!

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Isn’t this herb garden so cute! My favorite thing is that it looks quite elegant with the little white stripes wrapping all the way around the container. I never thought I would wrap yarn around something to display in my home but this yarn is so “fannnnncyyy”. (Say that like you are from the South)

you will need jaderbomb

*Decorative paper
*Layering Punch, Flourish Frame
*Craft Glue
*Mambo Yarn
*Baker’s Twine
*Herbs
*Wooden Skewers

You can purchase all of the items I used by clicking on the linky links!

Get together whatever herbs you love and some garden soil.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

I wanted to show you how beautiful this mambo yarn is up close.
You can braid it, knot it, wrap it or make jewelry. You can even use it as a trim for home décor and fashion accessories.

It’s made of  75% Acrylic, 7% Wool, 9% Nylon, 6% Viscose, 3% Angora

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbombThis new double punch punches a solid shape and the die cut shape. I think this is the coolest thing ever.
Another good thing is it stands up right on their own, which makes for easy storage.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

See, you can get the solid shape in a jiffy.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

If you don’t want the solid shape you can get the frame. This frame will fit completely around the solid shape.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Get any container you want to put your herbs in.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Start by adding a dab of hot glue on the container and gently placing the yarn on top of it.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Continue wrapping until it is all covered. I love it just like this, right!

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Once you are completely done fill that baby up with soil and herbs.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

With your double punch, punch out the solid shape and the frame.  When you buy flowers or herbs they have that little label in the soil that says the name of herb and how to take care of it. I cut the picture from the label off then glued it on top of the solid shape. When done place the frame over it.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

On the back I put the name of the actual herb just incase I forget.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

If you want the make the labels I just showed you you will need:

*Glue
* Skewer
*Baker’s Twine

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Spread a little craft glue on the stick.  Rub it thoroughly over the stick with your finger.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

Wrap the baker’s twine around the stick while the glue is still wet.

yarn-wrapped-herb-garden-jaderbomb

VOILA! This is what you will be left with. A hunka burning love on your kitchen window seal!

I hope you enjoyed this post and would really love if you shared this wonderful craft!
