It’s the FIRST day of Fall and today I will be showing you how I made Glow in the Dark Pumpkins. If you know me then you know how much I love Halloween so I figured I would get a little creative with my pumpkin decor. I love crafting with craft pumpkins because I can spend countless hours decorating one and when the season is over I can box it up in storage and reuse it the next year. Unlike decorative craft pumpkins you buy in the store you can decorate yours the way YOU like. For one, they last a heck of a lot longer (heller, saving money 101) and they are simply gorgeous the second you purchase them. Have you seen my pumpkin roundup, if not you have to check it out.

I get all of my pumpkins from Michaelsfollow and right now they are 50% off! I know, This tutorial is a great family project for kids and adults. It’s the kind of project that just makes you feel good! Plus creating is a good way to release anger and and it relaxes you in the process! The FULL tutorial is at the bottom of this post. Come check out all of my past Halloween crafts here. Did you see my glow in the dark pumpkins I made last year??? Enjoy Jaderbugs!

Happy Painted Neon Socks Day! It’s been a hot minute since I made an appearance on the blog and I promise that was temporary! I have been so crazy busy lately and I am now back in the groove of things! It’s kinda funny how life can get so overwhelming, but in a good way! Check out this NEON DUCK TAPE bag I made it would go perfect with these socks!

I have this “SLIGHT” obsession with socks. Anytime I go into a store and I run across socks with prints I go nuts. I am not sure why because you will rarely find me wearing tennis shoes. I am a Birkenstock kinda gal so the sock things is kinda odd. Yes, I have a drawer full of neon, colorful, printed, patterned and anything else you can think of socks.  Which brings me to THIS post. I found this pack of socks at……Michaels! Yes, Michaels. I was kinda shocked at first but I can’t lie my insides kinda had a party inside when I saw them. I immediately grabbed one of each color as fast as I could. I am really proud of myself that I didn’t grab 3 of each color, seriously! I knew I wanted to jazz them up but I wasn’t sure how.

These pretty babies stayed in my studio for a hot minute… ok they got lost in my studio but when I finally ran across them my insides had a party all over again. That day I was into my Tulip Dimensional paint so the Universe answered my design question for me. I realized this was something anyone can do, especially kids. Let’s face it – kids love to create! Adults do too! Let’s get started so I can show you how to enhance your socks in 10 minutes!

neon socks

I could tell you this project is super hard but I would be lying. It’s actually super easy! I wanted to create very subtle geometric designs on my socks so I only did the top part of them…. They turned out fabulous and unique. Every time I wear them I get stopped…well not really BUT I have had a few people ask me where I got them. Remember, I am a Birkenstock chica so you won’t really find me wearing socks!

On a whole other note my better half signed me up for a tennis league. Yes. A tennis league. I am not sure why I am telling you this but I guess this will be the perfect opportunity to show off all of my snazzy socks. I am so glad she has more faith in me than my socks do, haha! I am however super stoked about all the tennis clothes I will be wearing. I guess if I don’t play that good the least I could do is look cute on the court right… Stay tuned I will keep you updated, or I will NEVER mention this again. #fml

NEON GREEN SOCKS I kinda fell in love with each pair but I absolutely love the pink with black and white stripes. Leave a comment in the comment section telling me which pair is YOUR favorite.  DIY SOCKS

Since I love NEON so much I thought I would share with you this neon fashion roundup I did a while back. Yes I still love every single thing in the picture below even though this post was done a few years ago.  Neon Statement

Get your black light’s out cause are about to have a party with these Neon Tree Ornaments! Remember when I made this neon pumpkin! It was a HIT… So I figured I would make another NEON HIT with these cute neon ornaments.

Let me tell you before I start that this was an accidental project. I found these neon “things” one day when I was shopping in Michaels. I thought they were really cool and figured they would look good in a vase in my my studio. Then one day I looked at them and realized they looked like mini trees. BAM! That is how a project usually happens for me. Right brain for sho! Just thought I would share that with ya franssss!

Let’s get started.
neon tree ornaments You will need: Neon Fluffy Pipe Cleaners (I got these from Michaels) | Scissors | Mod Podge Collage Clay in White | Brush | Shiny Glitter | Pliers | Clear Ornaments
neon tree supplies diy christmas crafts After you spread out your collage clay inside of your ornament grab your pliers and carefully place your mini neon trees inside. They will sit right in the middle of that white gooey pile of collage clay and once it’s dry your trees are good to go.

I love collage clay! If you have never used it I suggest getting your hands dirty and grab some from your local craft store. This stuff here is literally like icing on top of the cake. You can spread this stuff out on any surface, drop in glitter, jewels, trinkets then VOILA! Let it sit for a hot minute (that means a few hours) and everything is secured in place.

Is your brain going nuts now? I can’t stop thinking about all the things I can do with this! orange tree ornaments neon christmas decorations diy christmas ornamtents neon colorfu;l ornaments I hope you enjoyed this tutorial from the bottom of my little ole heart! Huge glittery hugs from my computer screen all the way to YOU! xoxo, JADE

in other news I will be in Anaheim CA for the Craft and Hobby Association conference in January! I am super exited and all I will tell you is I will be doing some make -n- takes at a certain book and an appearance! I can’t wait to see all of my virtual friends there so make sure to look for the glittery girl giving out glitter bomb wishes!! xoxo

Remember when I did demos for Plaid, check out this video (don’t mind my thick accent) HEHE

There is nothing better than going in your backyard with $2 glass bottles and in 30 minutes staring at beautiful faux milk glass for your home. That is the kinda stuff I live for. Let’s be real not everyone can afford to really make a FULL centerpiece with “real” milk glass. Thankfully I collect it but I am surely not putting in out on my table to get knocked over. Recently I did a tutorial on puffy paint vases so that is what we will use as our base for this tutorial.

I am in love with these bottles and I can’t wait to make so many more. Just think how gorgeous these will look for different holidays. You can do red ones for Christmas, brown ones for Thanksgiving and orange or black ones for Halloween. Did I mention these are so fun for kids? Ok let’s get started.

Remember these Neon Puffy Paint bottles that I made this week? You will have to do this first before we turn them into “Milk Glass”. Get the full tutorial HERE.

All you need to do is spray paint the bottles with about 3-4 coats. Don’t try to coat the bottle right off the bat. Spray thin coats and I promise eventually it will be opaque. If you try to make it opaque in the first layer it will start dripping. (trust me, haha)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Stay tuned for some other fun crafts this coming week!

How would you display these?

When I think of LOVE I imagine everything white, fluffy and full of Christmas lights. Whuhh? You don’t think that’s love? FINE, LOVE is fried chicken, cozy pj’s and a ice cold coca cola. Better! (teeeheee)

Seriously yesterday morning I woke up around 3am because this cough decided it wanted to get up and drink coffee, craft and watch tv. I can’t get rid of this darn cough y’all. If you have any home remedies please leave me a comment cause I need something that’s gonna work. So, I am up aimlessly walking around trying to figure out what I could do. I really didn’t care as long as it had to do with an upward position. It seems the “cough” only likes to act nice when I am not laying down.
I went to my studio and the first thing I saw was puffy paint. YES! I had some bottles soaking in water for another craft I was going to do but who cares, I just grabbed them.

Off to crafting I went. 6 am I was done with craft and already shot pictures. Wahooo let’s get started on these puffy paint vases.

Puffy Paint Vases

Are you flipping out. Cause I am. I think I am  a little 7 year old inside because anything that is bright still makes me super giddy all inside.

(the ones I used were sparkling water)

Soak your bottles in ice cold water. I don’t know why but this makes the paper come right off. I usually put them in the water for about 2 hours.

See! It just peels off. I don’t put anything in the water btw.

Look how purdy! You would never know these once were just sparkling water bottles.

Choose your puffy paint colors and start puffing. (teehehe)
All you need to do is put dot’s in any pattern that you want. I just winged it and put dot’s down. I mean dont’ get me wrong, I had an idea of what I wanted before I started but I didn’t use a template.

How stinking cute are these. I kid you not, they were dry in 1 hour. Perfect last minute gift, right!

I hope you have a great Saturday and you enjoy puffing your paint. See ya in the next post Jaderbugs!

Happy Saturday Jaderbugs.
I am living a crazy hectic life lately. You know how that is right? Ton’s of deadlines, people ordering you around and crying because you just can’t do it all. Oh, you don’t know what I am talking about? Paahaha

I am sure that sounds very familiar to all of ya. I have a ton of new tutorials going up on the blog this week I even have a video tutorial and a Fall Haul video. Did I mention a THOUSAND other deadlines. Do you ever wish you had another you to help out? I do, and she would wear turtlenecks, pencil skirts, fish net stockings and high heels every single day. She wouldn’t drink Dr. Pepper everyday, eat Christmas cakes or stay up late. She would prolly have a house that was all painted (inside) vintage white and she would have a maid. Sheesh I can’t forget an assistant. That’s right. My other “me” would have an assistant. Hey nobody said it isn’t fun to dream.

Today I wanted to share with you some things that can brighten up your day or just your life. NEON. No matter what kinda day your are having, just slap on some neon and BAM. Just like that you will feel better. Plus the good thing about NEON is it really makes you look darker. Even if you have pale skin it’s like an instant snooki tan. Well maybe not a snooki tan, I don’t want you to look orange.
I hope you enjoy these amazing things I wanted to share with you.
