I can’t think of anything else besides tie dyed undies today. I never in a million years thought I would ever do a tutorial on Tie-Dyed Undies but hold on to your crafty seat belts because I did! Tie-Dyed Undies may seem like something that is not that common but today we will change everyones perspective. Of course you can go to ton’s of expensive stores to buy fancy lil undies but get ready to spend 30 bucks on 4 pairs. See, I don’t roll like that. I like to “jaderbomb” everything in my life including my undies. I have to wear them so why not feel fashionable.

Incase you don’t know every two weeks I write for the I love to create blog. I actually look forward to this post every week. So the second and fourth Tuesday you can find me and a new craft up on the blog.

(P.S. I am actually blogging today wearing a new pair of Tie-Dyed undies)

Cute Tie Dyed Undies

I am super happy with the way they turned out and believe it or not it is my FIRST time crafting with undies. It was so much fun, so you can look forward more. I already have 2 different tutorials in mind dealing with undies. Phew!

I want to give a SHOUT OUT to the winner of Martha Stewart’s new book, Crafts for Kids. Wahhhh freaking Hooooo!

Well here goes another dam edition of face it friday. That lovely day of the week where we are all forced to “face things”, well at least only here you are. Can you believe the 4th is over already? I thought my birthday celebrations were big, but holy guacamole-yyy. I didn’t have fireworks at my party. SMH = Shaking My Head.
{Can we say a little conceited “Merica” as Bernie Mac would say} At least my little one told me yesterday that he didn’t want to buy fireworks because they are a waste of money. Let’s face it that’s a SCORE!

let's face it

On to bigger and better things. Like this shirt I ran across. Now before you freak out let me just say first that I love Brit, for goodness sake she is a Louisianaian just like me. How can I not love her! But let’s face it, how can we ever forget this radical moment in her life? SMH.

My bestie bought me the best graduation present this year. Stackable mugs, which are rainbow. There is one problem though, every day I try to drink out of as many colors as possible. Yep this would be considered a little “cray cray” but let’s face it after I get through the yellow mug life get’s a little blurry. Maybe I can blame the caffeine for that.

In case you didn’t know I graduated from college in May!  I am still trying to get adjusted to the fact that I don’t have to go back in August but I will prolly just go anyways. I want to go to a large class all semester and see how long it takes for them to figure out that I am not actually enrolled. I am doing Dr. Evil’s laugh right. about. now. Let’s face it>>>>the speech we got for graduation was sorta… well boring?! I think it was so boring all I did was Vine videos while it was going on. One of my fellow graduates tagged me on facebook yesterday and said this is the speech we SHOULD have received. I liked the post and now I am sharing. Please watch, PLEASE!

The picture I decided to share today is from me and the wifey’s walk the other day. I seriously love eucalyptus. I love it so much that I “borrow” fresh pieces from our neighbors tree every once in a while. No, she does not know but I have a feeling deep down she would not mind. After all, her yard is a little “ungroomed” anyways. I am just trying to help!  But let’s face it, it’s much easier to get fresh eucalyptus when someone cut’s down a tree and has it all stacked on the side of the road. FU-REE.  We picked this bunch and walked for 2 more miles with it in tow.

Happy Happy Joy Joy >>>>it’s Friday Y’all. Don’t forget to give someone a huge hug today and stop to smell the roses or eucalyptus.

Morning my little Jaderbugs! Happy “foath of Ju-lie”. Today I have some super fun party crafts from my crafty lil friends Mark, Margot, Cathie, Heather and Kathy! These are great for those parties you will attend this summer or last minute gift ideas. I think it’s fun to make things for your friends and loved ones. Personally I love homemade gifts over store bought any day!

PartyCrafts

If you have not seen my easy tutorial on making paper beads then you must check it out! It’s very addicting to here is your warning.

Kathy the CraftyChica.com always surprises me with her fun tutorials. She has a cool way to dress up that table that has been needing a quick makeover!

Mark Montano is ONE big party in a box, seriously. He shows us how to show up a party in STYLE so make sure and check out his new video!

Heather from Dollar Store Crafts made my heart melt with this craft. I am seriously making 10 of these! Check out how she “embellished” her cups. You are gonna flip! Just think you can paint them any color you want. I am thinking of a GOLD collection!

Cathie Filian with Handmade Happy hour made a ridiculously cute mod melt southwestern necklace! I love how easy it is to make these roses. I can’t wait to get my hands on these Mod Melt’s, have you tried them yet?

My homie Margot Potter delivers a fallen star right in our lap! Wanna see how easy it is to make a star spangled shirt, come on! Did I mention she used a Silhouette? I don’t own one of these but I am starting to think I might need to.

What I love the most about each craft is you can make them for yourself or for someone else. These are all great party crafts so have fun y’all!

Happy Tuesday Jaderbugs today we will be making a paper bead bracelet. The big suprise will be at the bottom of this post so make sure you read till you get to the end. This month’s box of goodies was a little different than normal. If you are not familiar with the #12monthsofmartha let me tell ya. Each month Martha (well maybe it’s not exactly her but I will pretend it is) sends me a box of goodies for me to review and share on the blog. I also make something fascinating with the goodies. This month she sent her new book. Read more about it here.

Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts for Kids: 175 Projects for Kids of All Ages to Create, Build, Design, Explore, and Share

I had to re-create a craft in the book so I chose the paper bead necklace except I made a Paper Bead Bracelet instead. I will admit right away that making jewelry is not the one thing I am really good at. You know the fancy kind, with beads and clasps and all those little things involved. I will shock you now and say that today’s tutorial was FUN and EASY. Did I mention “wearable”.

Martha, if you are reading this… YOU ROCK
{{ok, this is asking a lot but if you do read this just shoot me a comment and let me know what you think or just text me, hehe}}

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
― Coco Chanel

I am so pleased with the outcome!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

This is the cover of the book and the bracelet I re-created. Let’s get started!

you will need

 paper trimmer|mod podge|decorative paper|toothpicks|elastic string|pencil

//P.S. You can purchase all of the items I used by clicking on the above links. These are affiliate links so if you click and buy you will help feed me more eggs and grits! Just saying, it’s my favorite.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Some of the items I used you might have already so take advantage of that. Oh, I used decorative paper to make my beads but another alternative is using magazine pages. I actually started one and can’t wait to show you.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

The first thing you will do is take a sheet of decorative paper and place it on top of another one. Use the edge of the one on to to draw your lines, or you can use a ruler. You will be drawing triangles and the bigger the triangle the bigger the bead. Keep that in mind. I like to make around 5 different sizes so it’s a little more unique.

265

This is what the lines will look like on the paper. Depending on the paper some lines may appear lighter or darker.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Once you draw your lines then you can cut them. If you don’t have a paper cutter you can use scissors.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Your triangles should look like this. Unless you have a shaky hand, haha! Which is why I don’t use scissors to get a strait line!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

1. Grab a toothpick and place the paper on the bottom of it.
2. Start wrapping the paper around the toothpick.
3. This is what your paper bead should look like once it’s all rolled.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Mod Podge the end so it all stays together.  You can even coat the entire bead with mod podge to make sure it is all secure.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Your bead should look like this when you are done. As soon as the mod podge is applied take the bead off of the toothpick. You don’t want to leave it because it could dry on the toothpick and we surely don’t want that!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Start stringing your beads with the elastic string. The good thing about this is you can put as many beads as you want!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Now onto the BIG news! I am giving away a copy of the book. WAHOO!

Whoa! It’s already flipping Friday. I can’t be the only person who wakes up on a Friday morning to realize the whole week flew by. I am usually lost as to what day it is and I can thank working from home for that. My birthday was two days ago and I am still getting so much love and support from the post I wrote. If you did not hear the big news I suggest reading it. I feel like I did when I was a senior in high school, 105 pounds. I mean, I don’t weigh that now but that is how much weight I feel is lifted. Poo Yi, that’s a lot huh! On to my DIY post of the day.

Today I will be showing you how to make washi tape magnets. This tutorial is so stinking easy you could do it in your sleep. Eh, not really but you get it. Let’s get it Jaderbugs! Check out my Spotify playlist that I listened to while working on this post!

washi tape magnets

I am very happy with they way they turned out. Personally I love putting everything on my fridge so I can never have enough magnets. The best part is you can use any color paper, fabric, glitter or tissue paper. It’s all up to you. I will be putting some up in my ETSY shop soon just in case you don’t have the materials to make or if you just don’t feel like making them. You should check out all of my new items that I just listed. Super cute!

you will need

Sticky Magnet Scissors | Glitter Ribbon

washi tape magnets

washi tape magnets

You can use any shade of ribbon that you like. The fun part is you can mix up your colors and have a variety on your fridge. Don’t stop on the fridge put these babies on your filing cabinet or on your face. I mean I don’t know about you but I am pretty magnetic. (shaking head here because I am ridiculous)

washi tape magnets

You can get these magnetic sheets anywhere. Seriously I bet the Dollar Store even has them but incase they don’t we can always depend on the trusty ole Wal-Mart. Kuddos Sam.

washi tape magnets

Get your ribbon and hold it in your hand. Observe each little glitter flake so you can feel really close to them. Tell them a story and maybe take them out for a walk, on a leash.

washi tape magnets

Peel the white sheet off of your magnetic sheet and just stick pieces of ribbon down. The magnet will be super sticky so no need for any glue. This is s perfect craft for kiddo’s too.

washi tape magnets

And there ya have it Jaderbugs. Your very own Washi Tape Magnets.  Who woulda ever thunk it. If this is something you personally don’t like I bet SOMEONE you know would love to get them. Pinky Promise!

washi tape magnets

Welp, that’s it. That is all the goodness I have for you today. Off to putting cubes of ice down my back cause it’s hot as hell here in Louisiana! See you in the next post!
