Happy Birthday Martha Stewart! Today’s post is dedicated to my best friend, Martha! I know what you are thinking. Jade, does she know she is your best friend and my answer is yes. When I texted her this morning she was so excited to hear from me. She asked me to send her some crawfish and a zydeco cd.

OK. FINE. She doesn’t know we are “best friends” but if we were I would treat her to the best birthday ever, the CAJUN way. I altered the photo below so she could visualize her birthday with me, however the portrait of her and I is legit. If you want to read my story of the first time I met her and watch my episode from the show click here! ENJOY!

Martha’s Cajun Birthday

martha stewart birthday

♥ I would surprise her with eggs for breakfast. I don’t do poached, sorry Martha. I would put a crap load of bacon grease in a magnalite pot and when it starts to boil I would throw her egg in it. This is known as heart attack eggs here. Let me also say these eggs will be from Wal-Mart not my back yard. I guess I would get “organic” for her. I would serve it with a bowl of hot cajun grits. I swear this delightful dish takes bacon, egg and grits to a whole new level. Calories. None.

♥After breakfast I would tell her to put some boots, not Hunter. I prefer white boots known here as Cajun Reebok’s. I would take her to watch the sun rise on a 4-wheeler alongside a mosquito infested swamp. What can I say, we have the prettiest sunrises in Louisiana but it comes at a good cost.

♥ After the sunrise tour I would take her to a mud pit and we would wrestle like pigs. Isn’t mud good for the skin? She would know this.

♥ It’s almost noon at this point so I would take her to a random house of her choice and knock on the door. Yes, the saying is true everyone in Louisiana welcomes you with open arms, unless they don’t have any then they would probably wrap their legs around you. Wondering why we are at a random person’s house? DUH, for lunch! Everyone has rice and gravy cooking on a Sunday. I can’t promise her what kind of meat will be in that gravy but hey, Martha is fond of “delicate” meat so she will be good. Worse case scenario, I will tell her it’s chicken.

♥ After lunch she might be sick. Why? Well because once you eat our rice and gravy you will know what I mean. (wink wink)

♥ When she feels better (after a nap on the random person’s sofa) I will call my long time friend Kristy from Swamp People. Yes, they film it right here in Louisiana. She will take us on a luxurious horse back ride to get to a dock. We would then get in a random boat and go find a gator. Remember everything belongs to everyone here, including the boats. At this point in the day Martha will be sweating profusely because it’s HOT here. The heat “might” make her feel ill since she practically ate greasy eggs for breakfast and random meat for lunch.

♥ At the end of the day I would take her to a random house here, preferably one with a swing in the back yard. You know what kind of swing I am talking about, one like this. I would tell her to plop herself in it and I would push her while watching the sunset. Again, she would be eaten alive by mosquitos but it will be totally worth it. Good news is I am immune to them. She would then BEG me not to leave and adopt me.

I have a feeling when she reads this she will have her assistant book her flight asap. I know this birthday sounds GREAT but this is a 17 star trip so no, I can’t treat everyone to this kind of day. I think we can all agree Martha deserves it! You can check out all of my posts here.  GUESS WHAT! I was chosen again to be a 12 months of Martha blogger!

Yippe Ki Yay! I wanted to make something that you could drink out of or put on your desk! These Glittered Mugs will totally make your heart melt and it’s the perfect gift to give someone. Let’s get started!

Glittered Mugs YOUWILLNEED

Glitter tray and rack | Patterning tape | Heart Glitter | Mugs | Brush | Decoupage glittered mug supplies
If you have not seen this amazing glitter then you are about to flip out. These are so stinking cute right. It’s baby heart that shine like stars in the sky. I chose these two colors because I thought they went nicely together. aa The first thing you will do is put tape around the mug. I wanted to add glitter on the bottom half so I simply put tape in the middle of the mug.  how to use stenciling tape
In today’s project we will be using a gloss decoupage. I love this product because when it dries, it dries clear and so beautiful.  how to write on mugs I am loving this new glitter rack and tray. It is great way to trap the glitter and when you are done you can pour it back into the glitter tube. The great thing is on the corner of the tray there is a tray that has a little hole on it making it easy to remove the glitter without a huge mess.

You will lay your mug on top of the tray and coat a section with decoupage then immediately sprinkle the heart glitter all over it. glittered mugs
We will also embellish our mugs with miniature love notebooks. I am in LOVE with these. You can really write in them! how to make glittered mugs

Today it is all about mugs. I don’t know about you but I somehow collect way too many mugs and what happens is I never can decide which one I actually want to drink out of. I guess just like the clothes I wear I believe my coffee cup defines what kind of mood I am in or want to be in.

What? You don’t think so? Shoots, maybe I am just a nut case but at least I am a nutcase than could throw a banging coffee party. Remember my coffee party I did for Martha? You know you could always use these printables for a banging party too!

PINTERESTMUGS YOUWILLNEED *Glass Paint
*Mugs
*Daubers
*Adhesive Stencils
*Brush and Stencil Cleaner
How to Stencil Mugs The great thing about Martha Stewart’s stencils is the fact that they have a nice adhesive backing to them. This is good because they will not budge when you paint on them.  martha stewart adhesive stencils

Start by placing them on the mugs wherever you want. Don’t worry, if you mess up you can remove them and reapply them where you want.  numbered mugs diy Once your stencil is secure squirt a little bit of glass paint inside of your stencil.  how to write on glass I love using daubers because they distribute the paint nice and even through out the stencil. They also help prevent bleeds since you are apply in an up and down motion.  martha stewart dauber Apply one even coat and re-apply a second coat 10 minutes later. If you want a really opaque look add a third coat.  how to stamp glass

Before your paint dries pull off your stencil and place it in a bowl of water.

Take them out of the water when you are done and place them on a paper towel. Grab another paper towel and apply a little stencil cleaner to it. Gently rub the stencil and the paint will come off.  how to clean stencils martha steawart stencils Allow them to dry over night and if you want lock in the paint you can bake them in the oven. The directions to doing that is on the bottle.  numbered mugs I hope you enjoyed this easy and fun DIY tutorial. I mean, you can put numbers on your mugs so you can count how many cups you drink in a day right!

Remember a while back when I posted this picture below? Remember how stressed I was trying to figure out what to do with this odd little piece of wood? I received ton’s of advice on what I should and shouldn’t do. So much advice that I got completely distracted all over again and could not make up my mind.

Like, who else freaks out about stuff like this? I feel like I need a stump to sit on and “think” when I have to make design decisions. After staying up many nights (not really) I finally decided to trust my bestie Martha. She always knows what do to. Come see what I ended up doing.

Learn how to Stenci - www.jaderbomb.com

Initially I painted the wood with black chalk paint. I wanted a whimsical space where I could write positive notes on. Yeah, not so much once it was there.

It’s obvious I love anything with chalk. Check out what I did to my fridge. I also made some rad chalk labels. In today’s project you will learn how to Stencil.

I used Martha Stewarts Geometric Patterns Laser Cut Stencils. They are super easy to use and affordable, at a low price of $16.99. I like things like this because it will not break the bank and you can always paint over it when you get tired of looking at it.

“Use stencils to create beautiful painted designs on fabric, wood, glass and other surfaces. Contains 3 laser cut stencils 8 3/4in x 16 3/4in, 12 designs, and instructions”.

Correct way to use stencils - Jaderbomb You will simply lay the stencil down on any surface, grab a sponge and lightly sponge on top of the stencil. I am very ocd so after every application I would wash the stencil and pat it dry. When you move onto the the next section just take one row and lay it on top of the last one you painted.

This will line up the stencil pattern. Once you are done stenciling your entire surface, let it dry for 24 hours. When dry apply a layer of Mod Podge on top. Let it dry completely and apply a second coat.

I mean, this is something I am doing temporarily until I finish the kitchen. It does add pizazz to the space if I must say so myself.  Easy Kitchen Makeover - Jaderbomb
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it helpful. Make sure to let me know in the comments if you have any questions or if you want to share your experience with stenciling. I love to hear your thoughts! See you in the next post.

ST_12_months_of_Martha_Logo-1 How to make a Paper Cone

What’s better than Popcorn? Getting Popcorn in a paper cone, y’all!

Now before you flip out with excitement I will need you to put on your Christmas shirt and grab a movie. Preferably UP. Wait, did you see my post I did yesterday on the I love to create website? Check it out Here.

Let’s get started because I am eating all of the popcorn.  YOUWILLNEED Martha Stewart Craft Paper | Baker’s Twine (optional) | Christmas Stickers | Glue Gun | Love
DIY SNACK CONTAINERS The first thing you will do is lay a sheet of paper out flat and start rolling from one corner to the next. It might feel awkward at first but you will get the hang of it.  howtomakeapapercone It will start to look like this on the end. With a little practice (maybe a minor heart attack) you will get a nice pointed tip.

Whatever you do, don’t ask me how how many times I threw that sheet of paper down on the ground while walking away like a mad little kid <——– teehee.  make a paper cone snack containers When you are done rolling your paper you will have this little piece of paper hanging off of the top. Don’t worry it’s supposed to be there. If it’s big enough you can fold it down and clip it with a button or something. You can use a hole puncher and attach with baker’s twine also.  paper container I used Martha’s new stickers on my paper cones. I love how they add just enough to the cones.  marthastewart peppermint stickers popcorn holder paper cone You can fill these with anything your little heart desires. I wanted to hand out popcorn to my family and thought that would be the perfect filling.  diy paper cones diypaper cone craft Disclosure:  I’m part of the 12 Months of Martha program. This is a sponsored post from Avery & Martha Stewart, but all opinions are mine! <— scouts honor! How to make Printable Labels

I don’t know about you but I love to make labels for everything. Whether it’s a gift card, present, table setting, or a good ole envelope.

Call me OCD and I will nod gently up and down while staring at you in the eyes. I would like to clarify that a little. Let’s just say I am obsessive and I like things to be consistent.

Now grab your Santa hat because I am about to show you how to make printable labels, the easy way!  homeofficeaverylabels

The good news is all you have to do is grab someAvery (Martha Stewart) holiday labels from Staples download the template to your computer, write what you want in the labels and VOILA! It’s that easy.

I love the ones below because they are clear and if you have a print on an envelope you can still see the background through the label. How stinking cool is that!

averychristmaslabels I like to give everyone cards for Christmas and these printable labels make anything look real “Fannncyyyy”. Everyone will think you spent hours hand carving their label (not really), but it sounds nice!  averylabels I guess now I have to fill envelopes with globs of money. I will just put more in mine and open it in my closet when everyone is sleeping. Hopefully the Santa won’t catch me.

If you mail out cards for Christmas these will save your life, for real. Just incase you forgot where to get these babies hop on over to the Staples site and pick out your favorite ones.

P.S. Santa if you read this I am still waiting on my Land Rover. Happy Holidays from my heart to yours!

Since my tags were fairly small I decided to use a stamp that would fit perfectly on them. I also used a big stamp that went off the edges of tag and it came out so cute!

halloween-popup-mspets-halloween_vert

Hey everyone! It’s that time of year where we dress up our furry balls in exciting things!  I am so excited to show off Ceaux Ceaux’s (Co-Co) new Halloween costume from Martha Stewart’s line at Petco. I was truly stumped when I had to pick out this year’s costume. I ended up choosing the Glitter Skeleton Costume. Did I mention they are really affordable too!

I think Ceaux likes it because she actually started running around the room when I took this out of the box. It’s like she knows it’s for her. When I say “come see baby girl” she sit’s right in front of me.

When it comes to pet’s it’s important to put them in things that are soft and comfortable.

I am always impressed with Martha’s line at Petco. Everything is thought out perfectly from the fabric to how it fits. Let’s look at how stinking cute this costume is.

I love the way the sleeves are made and the precious tutu on it. Don’t worry, this tutu is extremely soft so it will not scratch your pet.

If you think you get “ooh’s and ahhh’s” now, just wait.

12monthsofmartha HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR

Boo-Yah!  I don’t know about you but I love HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR. What do I love about it? EVERYTHING.

It doesn’t always have to be bloody and dark, ya know. Even though that’s the real way to celebrate this holiday.

I wanted to throw a black and white themed coffee party and I know you will love all of the little details. Witches “brew” is what we will call it.

If you love Halloween as much as I do then you need to check out these houses I made. Wear these shoes while trick or treating with your kids. I am in love with these black and white kitchens.

BLACK AND WHITE HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR

I know I would love to attend a spooky “brew” party, what about you? If you can’t find the items I used in this post you can click on ANY of the links below the pictures and order from one site! Hey, I am just trying to make your life easy.

I think everything looks clean and crisp. Kind of reminds me of a sterile hospital room.

Still want coffee?

HOW TO DIY YOUR HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR

I purchased these mugs from World Market and dressed up the handle with glitter. Glitter will always make things better.

EASY DECOUPAGE ON GLASS TUTORIAL PARTY MUGS  To start you will place stencil tape around your handle. Coat the handle with a nice coat of Martha Stewart’s new decoupage. Sprinkle your favorite shade of glitter on the wet decoupage.

Of course I used classic black. Carefully peel the tape off before it dries. You can clean up your mug now easily. Check out what else I decoupaged.

HOW TO DECORATE FOR HALLOWEEN PARTY

Once I removed the tape I sprinkled some more glitter on them before they dried. When they are dry just dust them off with a brush. Remember to let these cure for about 28 days then you can wash them by hand or in the dish washer.

They will stay fully glittered if cured correctly.  HOW TO DECOUPAGE ON GLASS

To add a little spark to the bottom of my mugs I decoupaged some insects to the bottom. When someone lifts their coffee mug a nice bug will be displayed on  the bottom! I think this is my favorite part of the party.
