Homemade Potpourri

On a recent trip to my father’s house I took a stroll and ran across a couple of things other’s may pass by without even noticing. I though this was the perfect time to post some things from nature that you could incorporate within your personal space.

Most would see these hanging in a tree and pass by it. Next time, grab a big handful and let them sit out in the sun for a day or two and when they are completely dry, there you have it!!!! Next all you have to do is sprinkle drops of your favorite essential oil and voila!!! Homemade Potpourri ….

While on my walk I ran across these Cattails! There is something so interesting about these little babies. Maybe it’s the fact that they simply remind me of a corn-dog! I know you all love corn-dogs!!

See! I told you these suckers look awesome! I have them outside on my antique wood burning stove… They just add that “perfect” cozy touch to it!

I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY my little Jaderbugs!!
Sending you lots of spongy fake corn-dogs,
jaderbomb

Homemade Scented Confetti

Happy Saturday my little Jaderbugs! I hope your weekend is going GREAT! I have lots of crafting to do  ALL day Sunday because I have missed a couple of days and I need to catch up! I know all of you forgive me though {{praying hands}}.  The last couple of days have been “surreal”and BUSY! SO much to do and SO little time. Let me know if there is a special craft you would like to see me do! You can write a comment below ANY of my posts’ to tell me!

This is one of the gifts I got in the mail!!! {{thanks Martha}}
 PUNCH ALL OVER THE PAGE
I can’t even explain how awesome this tool is! Let me just tell you the best thing about it. On all four corners they have little magnets. Why is this awesome? WELLLL because you don’t have to “guess” where to place the top! The awesome fantastic magnet’s do all the work! AND, you can use the WHOLE sheet of paper not just the edges!

~For best results press top of punch evenly with both hands.
~Align the flat corner of base to flat corner of top to punch.  The magnets will connect.
~Use this punch in the center, on the edge, or anywhere on the page! Punch multiple times in a row or grid to achieve a patterned effect.

It’s all about Frank and the Universe

Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it – New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it – New York, New York

I wanna wake up in a city that doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill – top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it – in old New York
If i can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you – New York, New York

New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps
And find I’m a number one, top of the list
King of the hill, a number one

These little town blues, are melting away
And I’m gonna make a brand new start of it – in old New York
And if i can make it there, I’m gonna make it anywhere

It’s up to you – New York New York

New York

sending you nice background music to fall asleep to,

MARTHA MAIL

Beyond excited is what I feel today!! Lot’s of FUN things coming up so you will have to keep coming back!!! I just could not wait to share this with you because when I opened this box my heart was beating so fast it felt like it was gonna burst out. I mean, who doesn’t like to get presents in the mail.  Especially from MARTHA STEWART!!!!
The last 2 weeks have been amazing! Actually SURREAL (fa reallll). I just am still so much in shock at the outcome of where I stand today. The support I deal with on a daily basis is something I would not trade for anything in this world.  Now I understand the saying about is your glass half empty or half full. LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT! Don’t let anyone tell you other wise.  If someone tells you something that puts you in a rut, take that as an incentive to do better! But you have to remember one important thing.  Don’t do it for anyone but YOU.
Don’t do it to PROVE something to someone because you are sending out the wrong energy.
No matter what you do in life as long as you give it ALL you have then the only thing that can come out of it is good.  Ya know.  When I started this blog years ago I had alot of people make “rude” comments about how “silly” it was.  That is OK. It was their opinion. I have had to learn to shake anything negative off. When I did that. My life started changing.
WOWZERS. How did something I got in the mail turn into this!!! {{head shaking and laughing}}
Onto the GOOD things!!!
Please keep in mind that this is only 2 pictures of what I got. In the morning I will open each thing up and take some really good pictures for you!!!
She amazes me and I can’t wait to meet her. JS….and Laura…and Jenn (insert lots of big grins here)
I hope you enjoy them!

Sending you lots of goodies in a box waiting at your front door,
jaderbomb

Pinecone Hurricane Vase

Ok… I will just jump to the truth.  This baby did not turn out like I “though” it would. Is it ugly, NO.  Is it pretty, NO. {{paaahahaha}}. It is pretty in person and I think that is what counts. It was fun to make and VERY affordable! I have to say I didn’t think the pinecones would require so much attention. Those babies just kept breaking and breaking!!! It was like “ok, just work with me… do it for Martha”.. Then a couple decided they wanted to work with us! I also used a mason jar because it was a “little” different than what Martha used but I just had to add that Jaderbomb touch!
I would rate this craft as SUPER easy, but you have to get “good” pinecones.  They can’t be too dried up because they just crack. I think every pinecone tree around my house had DRY pinecones.  {{thanks universe, jj I love you}}
I do NOT think my craft came out as decadent as Martha’s but I still plan on making lot’s more!!
I have some fun and exciting things coming up in the next couple of weeks so you BETTER stay tuned!!!
p.s. Remember how I told you about them breaking so easy! These are my first two babies I got off in one piece!
p.s. I know it looks messy with all the hot glue strings all over but in the end, once the glitter is on everything it will all be just fine!

p.s. They may not have turned out as perfect as Martha’s but they sure do make me happy!
I hope you enjoyed this craft you little Jaderbugs!
sending you lotsa pinecones sticking you all over but making you happy,
jaderbomb

All the annoying things in life

Just wanted to share something with you that was sent to me… I usually don’t write stuff like this but I just had to share this with you. I feel EVERYONE who reads this or comes across it could benefit from it and for that reason alone I have to share….
As you might remember, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring the donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock did not go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One’s car would not start.
One could not get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man who put a new pair of shoes on that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there he developed a blister on his foot.  He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.
You see…. God has a plan for all of us.  Some might not understand that but you must TRUST.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone… all the little things that annoy me
I think to myself.  This is exactly where god wants me to be. At this VERY moment.
So , the next time your day seems to be going “wrong”…
You can’t seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don’t get mad or frustrated.
It may be just that GOD is at work watching over you.
p.s. i took this picture during the summer and i am still in awe of it. it’s just proof that he loves us.
