Wow! What an emotional day. This will probably be the hardest post I have ever written. Not only is it my 33rd Birthday today but also a monumental day.  Today the Supreme Court strikes down federal provision on same-sex marriage benefits. This is huge and I am so happy about this right now.

Today’s blog post will be a little different than my normal crafty post. Since Jaderbomb started almost 3 years ago I have shared many things with you and important milestones in my life however I have not shared 100% of who I am with you. You have become a huge part of my daily life and I will forever be grateful for the love and support, which is why I want to share with you about who Jade really is.

I have struggled with many things in my life but the one thing that I always have is support. My family and friends are the reason I am who I am today. They love me unconditionally and that is something I am thankful for. It’s only 10 am and my day has been very awesome so far. Did I mention this was a hard post? I have deleted about 6 paragraphs and started over and over again. I came out about 10 years ago and it was the best feeling in the world. Finally being able to be who I really am was such a relief. My heart aches for anyone who is scared or can’t come out. I had to bury who I  was for years prior to coming out and that is not fun, plus I live in the South. Don’t get me wrong I love where I am from but it’s not California, haha! I have had loads of support since I came out and I think if I didn’t I would be a troubled little soul by now!

I am Jade, a true Southern girl who loves my family and friends, a blogger, a lover of gold glitter, madly in love with coke in a bottle (cold), big time coffee drinker and I am GAY. This may matter to some and others might not care at all about what I just shared but this is my online home and it sure feels good to share this with you. WOW! I DID IT! What a monumental day, right!

If you are wondering why I have not shared this publicly yet, let me tell you. I am very passionate about what I do online and I think it shows. The one thing I did not ever want was someone judging me because of my sexual orientation. This little part of me does not matter to some but I have had many bloggers stop communicating with me because of this. Some shocked me but in the end they were negative people and I like to surround myself with positive.  I think it’s a sad thing if you ask me. People can be cruel and this is why I felt it was not the best thing to do. In the last year I have gotten really close to many awesome people in the crafting world. Slowly as I became closer to these people I would share with them this “secret” hoping they would react in a positive way. They all did! When I would share with them the bloggers who have been ugly to me they got super upset because they felt it was not important what I did in my personal life. My friend Margot told me once that it was their loss and they would realize it one day. I know that is something anyone could tell me but for some reason when she said it to me it was special. So thanks to all of you (you know who you are) who love me 24-7. I hope this allows you to feel closer to me, after all I am still the same Jaderbomb!

P.S. For anyone who feels stuck in any way just know that releasing who you are is better than holding it in to please anyone! Plus, I love you and will ALWAYS be here for you!

Big hugs to you, my friends

xoxo, Jade

Happy Saturday everyone. I have been so excited lately with fun things and I can’t wait to share them all with you. I figured I would space things out so you are not overloaded with it all, right! I am always so thankful to all of you that come here daily and support me. I often think about everything that has happened in my life and quickly freak out.  When I say freak out that usually means dancing on the spot and making weird faces. Ok enough mushy talk let’s get to business.

Today we are making something really unique and awesome. Homemade stickers using a Xyron sticker maker. . I know what you are thinking, why make them when you could buy them. I thought the same thing until I experienced this sucker. Last year at CHA  I got this and I don’t think I realized at the time how much it would impact my life. Haha, that is funny! Let’s get started. homemade stickers

ingredients

Xyron Sticker Maker | Scissors | Ribbon
homemade stickers

Did I mention you can use any kind of ribbon that you like. I swear it’s the coolest thing. I wish I had 10 more because it’s amazing when you are crafting.

homemade stickers

The first thing you will do is cut a strip of ribbon. Start off with a small piece just to get the hang of it. I promise its easy.

homemade stickers

Place the ribbon like this in the sticker maker. Make sure the good side faces upward.

homemade stickers

Pull the sheet at the bottom.

homemade stickers

Once all of your ribbon is out tear the paper. The ribbon will now be in the middle of a white piece of paper and a clear film. Take the clear film off then peel the ribbon off. It’s really that easy. The underside of the ribbon will have a sticky film on it and you will be able to put the sticker wherever your little heart desires.

homemade stickers

I love sealing little bags with them. It makes things so personal and FUN!

There is ONE rule, you must have fun with this crafting tool! I might be doing a giveaway with some of these soon so stay tuned. Let me know what you think in the comments below! Love you to pieces and pieces

How simple are blue mason jars. I love the simple fact that you can place one out on a table and it changes the whole outlook of your space. Today I will show you how to make a flower/plant holder with just a few ingredients. Check out my other craft I just did using a blue jar here. Let’s get started!

ingredients

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

*Blue Mason Jar
*Wire Cutters
*Screen
I got the screen from Home Depot a long time ago. I am not sure if they sell it in small pieces but you don’t need a lot of this. You can use this same process with a large pot to hold plants upright.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Lay your screen down on a flat surface. Place the lid facing downward on the screen and outline the lid with a marker. I like using a red one because it shows up great.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Next get your wire cutters and cut on the outline. Be careful doing this.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

When you are done cutting the screen you can put it in the lid. I keep my lid on a flat surface while putting the screen in.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

This is what it will look like after you put the screen in.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Carefully screw the lid back on. I love how the picture looks like it has water in it but it’s just the glass.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

Snip your plants/flowers and pop them in your new mason jar.

blue-mason-jar-flower-holder-jaderbomb

I went in my back yard and picked these lovely flowers! They are so stinking pretty right! I think if I could be a flower it would be a hydrangea.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. It’s super simple to make. These make great gifts also!
What are your favorite flowers to display?

jade

blue-mason-jar-plant-food-containersI love jars, especially blue mason jars. Not the kind you painted blue but the limited-edition Ball Heritage Collection Pint Jars.  I went to Target and saw them on the end of an isle and they were screaming at me, saying “JADERBOMB…PLEASE COME BUY ME”.  I caved.  I love my plants so feeding them is mandatory. I only have one problem with the boxes the plant food comes in. Once you open the bag inside the moisture gets in and makes the food sticky and wet. Wanna see how I store my plant food?

ingredients

I bought these paper doilies from Wal-Mart. You can let your little ones write on top of them. It is a fun way to help out plus they feel really involved.

 blue-mason-jar-plant-food-containers

Carefully pour the plant food into a jar.

 blue-mason-jar-plant-food-containers

Put the flat lid on top of the jar then place your paper doily directly on top of that. Screw the cap on. That’s it!

 blue-mason-jar-plant-food-containers

A super cute way to store your plant food. Another thing you can do is put packets of seeds in them. I mean it’s endless what you can do with these jems!

What will you do with your’s?
