Y’all it’s almost Christmas! Seriously I feel like I made these DIY Coffee Mugs a week ago. Welcome to my world! I can’t quite grasp Christmas this year. Maybe because it still sorta feels like Summer-ish / Fall-ish here in Louisiana. I mean come on mother nature, can you give us like 4 days of snow? It’s not too much to ask of you. I just want to wear some scarves for a few days without my neck getting hot.

Which brings me to the subject of why stores in Louisiana even sell scarves. However it’s quite funny when you go into a store here and a mannequin is dressed with a scarf and tank top.. Insert WTF here.

Speaking of Mannequins. Are you totally loving this new fad all over the internet where everyone stands still (minus the people who blink every now and then) and pretends life is at a dead stand still? I know I am. Shoot’s, it’s better than that whole “plank” fad that went around a few years ago. I think THIS ONE is my favorite so far. I mean you can be in the WORST mood ever and once you watch this you will wish there was more, or you will wish you were in that front row. Either way I bound and determined to do one and you can bet I will get creative. Stay tuned. I think my DIY Coffee Mugs would work perfectly in a mannequin challenge.

Today I wanted to share with you a really fun tutorial I did last year for I Love to Create. I am always down to wear an ugly sweater and I wanted to make sure my mugs had the change to do the same thing. Click on the link below for the FULL TUTORIAL.
DIY COFFEE MUG

I won’t give aways the deets but I will tell you that anyone can create fun mugs. These can be for yourself or for a friend. Either way they are the perfect gift! I will say that the ceramic markers below are by far the best I have ever used. No, I am not getting paid to say that (well technically I am but…) I am very serious.

These would look great next to your mugs!ugly-sweater-snowman-mug

Yep! They are safe to use once you are done. I thought I would add hearts to the bottom of my mugs so when their drink is all done they will have a heart felt surprise! How sweet huh! ♥

OH SNAP! I almost forgot to tell you about my Dream Tree Challenge for Michaels. Every year I am honored to create a beautiful tree and this year I went all out! Wondering what theme I went with? You hoping I tell you right now huh! NOPE, haha! Hello!…Perfect Gifts for the Adele lover in your life . I have to admit that I am one of the MILLION humans on this earth that absolutely fell head over heels in love with Hello by Adele. It’s great to know that she is back and ready to mend millions of the broken hearts with her amazingly new album , 25.  Now let me be the first to tell you that when I drive in my car I turn this new and overplayed song up really loud and pretend I am in a forest like she was in the video. But when I wake up from the dream I am just on my way to Kroger to get toilet paper and chocolate. Yesterday me and my son were driving and I was belting Hello, and right when I the main verse came on I let it out LOUD with my Sprite Microphone and my clever son decided to press PAUSE on his phone. It was epic and horrible all at the same time. Check it out here, trust me you don’t want to miss out on this doozy.

In today’s post I wanted to do a fun roundup of “Hello” inspired gifts to get for your family and friends for Christmas. Some you can make which will make it nice if you can’t find these gifts in stores! Ready!

Did I mention that Adele just ruined the entire word HELLO for everyone! Anytime someone will tell me “Hello” I will always sing “How are You” in my head. SMH

Happy Monday Jaderbugs! I hope everyone had a ridiculously good weekend. Here in Louisiana it was rainy and gloomy. But that didn’t stop the crafting I tell ya. I have always been a fan of line drawings. They capture things that paint couldn’t ever capture which is why I am so excited to share this craft with you today. The thing I love the most about this craft is ANYONE can do it. It’s super simple and they turn out fabulous. Who would of ever thunk it?

You can have some ideas of things you want to create before you start or you can just go with the flow. I had a few images in mind that I wanted to create. You can lightly draw on your card stock with a pencil so you have a simple guideline to follow.

Ink-Blown-Art

INGREDIENTS:

*Card Stock
*India Ink
*Small Straw or Big Straw

Purchase all of the items I used by clicking on the links in the ingredient section.

Let’s get started!!

Ink-Blown-Art

Here are all of the things you will need. If you use a small straw know that it will give you FINE lines, if you use a big straw it will give you THICK lines. I used a small one.

Ink-Blown-Art

This is the india ink I used. I purchased it at Hobby Lobby.

Ink-Blown-Art

The first  thing you will do drop a little drop of India ink on your card stock.

Ink-Blown-Art

This is what it will look like.

Ink-Blown-Art

Grab your straw and start blowing. The harder you blow the more you will see the ink blow in every direction. If you wiggle the straw back and forth while you blow the lines will really take off.

Ink-Blown-Art

The picture above is “supposed” to be a woman with her hair all around her. Do ya see it?

Ink-Blown-Art

Do you see Holly Hobbie in the picture? My Holly Hobbie is reading a book. I love her.

Ink-Blown-Art

This is the trash can that Ash used to have. I found this one on Etsy, you can buy it HERE.

I love this because it’s completely affordable and it will spruce up ANY space!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Don’t forget to make it a DIY kinda day,

I had so much fun creating this project in my head. See I had these mini blue jeans from my son when he was LIL. I didn’t want to throw them away or stuff them into a box  so I decided to let my creative brain decide for me. I thought they best way to incorporate them into my daily life was to make them into a fashionable blue jean purse.

Let’s get started. I’m just warning you, this craft is super easy so put your crafty seat belt on.

I know, I know. You are prolly thinking “Hey Jaderbomb, where is your “ingredient” list”. If you don’t know what that means it’s the picture of things you will need to make this project. I will tell you why I don’t have one. Well, because I didn’t plan on posting this. I think I THOUGHT it wasn’t going to come out like it did in my head. I guess I fooled myself.

You will need:
*blue jeans
(whatever size you want)
Obviously the bigger the jeans, the bigger the purse
*an old purse strap
*snaps
*gold chain
*needles
*thread
**sewing machine works the best**

The first thing you will do is cut the pants where you want the bottom of the purse to end. When you are done cutting pin them like I did below. This will secure the material for you.

Remember, the longer you cut the deeper the inside of the purse. I am loving this project so much I think I will make a few HOBO bags (with new jeans of course cause we don’t want any honey boo boo smells) and sell them on my ETSY and STORE ENVY shop. What cha think! I think it will save you the time and it’s great Christmas gifts!

Just a little closer look at how I put the pin through the blue jeans.

Five years ago I would of totally hand sewed this, or found someone to do it for me…
Can you believe Ashy just taught me to sew last year! I mean let’s just say this. I always knew how to do basic things but now I can sew by myself like a big girl! haha

You want to sew the bottom of the blue jeans slowly. I made two passes just to make sure it was secure. Make sure if you are using a sewing machine for the first time that you take the pins out before you sew in that spot.  If you look at the picture below I wait until I am ABOUT to sew the pin until I take it out of my material.

When you are done with sewing you might need to take a lil break. You just did some major sewing. I am gonna take a break right now.

OK! I’m back!

Now is the time to embellish your new purse. I started by passing a piece of gold chain through the belt loops.

If you don’t like chains, you can actually put a real belt (sheesh that would of been cute, why didn’t I think of that), some fabric or nothing at all.

I have a ton of purses that have removable straps so I just stole one off of a purse and clipped it onto the belt loops. I am really loving the way the leather and blue jean look together.

In the picture below you will see those two gold snaps that I added. I found when I put things in the purse it kinda opened more  and I didn’t like that. I don’t want my goodies falling out now!
I used some SNAP FASTENERS for this. You can buy these at any craft store. I bought mine from Michaels Art’s and Crafts.

Another close up. This is what the snap looks like from the back. If you are not a fan of GOLD you can get SILVER snap fasteners also.

I hope you enjoyed this craft! It was so much fun. You could tie dye your purse, put tons of beads on it, make a strap with fabric, stencil it and so much more! I wanted a clean one, this time.

Stay tuned because I will be putting some in my Etsy shop for you to purchase! Can’t wait to see you in the next post!
