Hooo Rahhhh Hooo Rahhh! All aboard on the crafty caboose y’all. It’s that day of the week where me and my friends will show you some fabulous SUMMER CRAFTS , sha-bang! I hope these projects encourage you to start crafting cause they are all super cuhyute. Don’t forget to give them all some LOVE, cause they give love back!

SUMMER CRAFTS1.  It’s like a two in one deal y’all! Mark Montano mixed two pretty cool ingredients together and BAM he, this came out!

2.  Like Modest Mouse once said and we ALL FLOAT ON. I have always wanted to be a “floater” so I guess I will make this and become one. Margot Potter makes the COOLEST projects so make sure and see just HOW she made this necklace

3.  Cawww Cawww (yes that is a bird noise) I love the way Cathie Filian‘s bird charm ring came out. Wait till you see just how easy it is to make.

4.   What!? Nautical HOME DECOR with plain ole party supplies. ARrrrrrrrrrr…. I am loving this and I know you will do thanks to Heather Mann.

5.  We all know you have fabric “scraps”. Or maybe you throw yours away. When you see what Crafty Chica does with her scraps you will surely save yours! These earring’s surely will be on my ears SOON!

6.  Last but not least, check out my latest “undies” tutorial. You can really see what my undies LOOK LIKE!

SUMMER CRAFTS are always fun especially when you have friends and family to share them with.  All of these crafts would be great things to bring on summer vacations. You could also give them as birthday presents!

Happy Tuesday Jaderbugs today we will be making a paper bead bracelet. The big suprise will be at the bottom of this post so make sure you read till you get to the end. This month’s box of goodies was a little different than normal. If you are not familiar with the #12monthsofmartha let me tell ya. Each month Martha (well maybe it’s not exactly her but I will pretend it is) sends me a box of goodies for me to review and share on the blog. I also make something fascinating with the goodies. This month she sent her new book. Read more about it here.

Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts for Kids: 175 Projects for Kids of All Ages to Create, Build, Design, Explore, and Share

I had to re-create a craft in the book so I chose the paper bead necklace except I made a Paper Bead Bracelet instead. I will admit right away that making jewelry is not the one thing I am really good at. You know the fancy kind, with beads and clasps and all those little things involved. I will shock you now and say that today’s tutorial was FUN and EASY. Did I mention “wearable”.

Martha, if you are reading this… YOU ROCK
{{ok, this is asking a lot but if you do read this just shoot me a comment and let me know what you think or just text me, hehe}}

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
― Coco Chanel

I am so pleased with the outcome!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

This is the cover of the book and the bracelet I re-created. Let’s get started!

you will need

 paper trimmer|mod podge|decorative paper|toothpicks|elastic string|pencil

//P.S. You can purchase all of the items I used by clicking on the above links. These are affiliate links so if you click and buy you will help feed me more eggs and grits! Just saying, it’s my favorite.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Some of the items I used you might have already so take advantage of that. Oh, I used decorative paper to make my beads but another alternative is using magazine pages. I actually started one and can’t wait to show you.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

The first thing you will do is take a sheet of decorative paper and place it on top of another one. Use the edge of the one on to to draw your lines, or you can use a ruler. You will be drawing triangles and the bigger the triangle the bigger the bead. Keep that in mind. I like to make around 5 different sizes so it’s a little more unique.

This is what the lines will look like on the paper. Depending on the paper some lines may appear lighter or darker.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Once you draw your lines then you can cut them. If you don’t have a paper cutter you can use scissors.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Your triangles should look like this. Unless you have a shaky hand, haha! Which is why I don’t use scissors to get a strait line!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

1. Grab a toothpick and place the paper on the bottom of it.
2. Start wrapping the paper around the toothpick.
3. This is what your paper bead should look like once it’s all rolled.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Mod Podge the end so it all stays together.  You can even coat the entire bead with mod podge to make sure it is all secure.

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Your bead should look like this when you are done. As soon as the mod podge is applied take the bead off of the toothpick. You don’t want to leave it because it could dry on the toothpick and we surely don’t want that!

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

diy-paper-bead-bracelet

Start stringing your beads with the elastic string. The good thing about this is you can put as many beads as you want!

Now onto the BIG news! I am giving away a copy of the book. WAHOO!

I am so excited to share with you my latest post for the I Love to Create Blog.  How to make Bohemian Garden Flags. {Get the link at the bottom of post}

Long hair is considered bohemian, which may be why I grew it, but I keep it long because I love the way it feels, part cloak, part fan, part mane, part security blanket” Marge Piercy

How to Make Bohemian Flags Jaderbomb

How to Make Bohemian Flags Jaderbomb

I get asked a lot how do I create things or come up with fun new ideas that are not all over Pinterest. Well the thing is I have a rule that I made with myself long before Pinterest came around. I promised that I would always stay true to the things that make me extremely happy. That I would not copy anyone’s special ideas that they create because after all I  have so many in my own head I really need to focus on getting them all out! ((teehee))

I promised that I would not ever compare my blog to anyone else’s {trust me this can be hard at times} because that is them and this is me. Sometimes I get inspired by other’s but you have to focus on YOU and that is when TRUE content will come out. Sometimes it’s not all about how “pretty” your blog looks but how great the CONTENT is.

I will always create things with BOLD bright colors. If something feels fun and MAGICAL when I am creating it then I know I am doing the right thing. What do I do when I have a creative block? I just close my eyes and trust my intuition. I follow my heart and pretend I am making a gift for ME. I trust this unexpected blogging life that the Universe created for me and go for it. When I look at something I create and feel happy inside then I know YOU will too.

Happy hump day Jaderbugs! I am so excited to share my “Chick Magnet’s” with you today. It’s almost easter and I thought it would be the perfect time to put these on your fridge or anything magnetic. Magnets add a lot of fun to your fridge especially when it’s holding up special notes or your child’s art. Let’s start making them!

Chick-Magnets-Jaderbomb

you will need
*Fluffy Chicks
*Adhesive Magnets

You can purchase all of the supplies I used by clicking on the links above.

Chick-Magnets-Jaderbomb

I purchases my chicks at Hobby Lobby and they were $2.99 for a box of 24. Pretty affordable, right!

Chick-Magnets-Jaderbomb

Start by peeling off the side of the magnet with paper on it. It should be sticky.

Chick-Magnets-Jaderbomb

Take your fluffy chicks and stick them to the sticky side of magnet. That is pretty much it! It’s a super easy craft that your kids could do in no time.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, see you in the next post…
