I know what you are thinking, crazy it’s not Fall. I then come back and say “really, it’s not”.  You might even want to insert a crooked smile here. Someday’s I get that because of this unexpected career in blogging. I am a little ahead of my time when it comes to home decor and crafting. That is why I am sharing last year’s fall mantle crafts with you today.

fall mantle crafts

I have to be! I know this sounds cray cray but in August when you are doing back to school shopping and scouring Pinterest for ways to get organized I am trying to create new Fall and Halloween ideas for you, which you will then be seeing all over my Pinterest {click link to follow me} in September. Did I mention that in September I am already starting Christmas things?

Maybe that is why I always feel like I am in a time warp yo. Yesterday I was looking back at my Fall mantle last year and boy oh boy has things changed. For one I must have been in a Easter time warp with the turquoise walls. I mean sure, it fit’s my personality but I am still sitting here shaking my head. I will blame it on being in school full time and going nuts internally. There, I have a legit excuse. Moving on.

Aside from the “let’s pretend we are at a beach house but we are in musky Louisiana”  turquoise walls my mantle was exploding with some really fun unique crafts. Crafts in which I believe could be used for many of you and possibly in different ways. Be open and creative when you look at someone’s mantle. Don’t nit pick it because there might be ONE thing you can take away from it for your own house. For example the painted sticks could be used for Christmas, but you could spray paint them GOLD. See?

Good news! The walls are a different color now, the shelf is gone and there is no sign of fall yet. But no worries I will soon share with you my non fall mantle crafts. Just get ready because in a DIY blogger’s house things change quick! CLICK HERE TO SEE ALL OF THE CRAFTS IN ACTION.

Happy Friday! I am so stinking excited about this post mainly because it’s so fun to make it. I write for I love to create every two weeks and I am always looking for different ways to incorporate tie-dye into our lives. You know, creating ways other than doing a t-shirt. I was in my studio looking around while trying to find inspiration one day and I glanced at my huge box of tissue paper. If you are a DIY’ER then you know it’s always good to have enough of this! You can mod podge it onto things, make tissue balls, or just Tie Dyed Tissue Paper . I was unsure of the way it would turn out but don’t you worry, I made all of the mistakes necessary before I shared this with you. So what are you waiting for? Hurry and check out the FULL TUTORIAL HERE!

Oh and if you are on Pinterest make sure to follow all of my boards, I promise I will give you loads and loads of inspiration daily. Find me HERE!

Kitchen Decorating

Boom Chaka Laka, Chaka Laka, Chaka Laka, Laka BOOM! I am on this odd spoon kick lately. I am not quite sure how to kick it so I decided to share all of the fun things I been doing with them. You remember the other day when I posted this, well before I put up all of my colored nail polish I thought hard about what else I could do with them. I went into a day long daze (crafters you know what this is) and BOOM. This thought happened. Kitchen Decorating 101. Well, not exactly what you see below but the thought of bright, whimsical, retro spoons happened in my noggin. Initially I thought they would look great in a glass jar in the kitchen. I put them in a jar but it was like looking at yourself in the mirror while trying on bathing suits. It worked but didn’t work. Or in my case I have just resorted to the “shirt” on top because I don’t want the sun to burn me. Wink Wink!

Anyways, I grabbed some gold glitter and sprinkled it over my head then the magical thought of a spoon display occurred to me. There you go, now you have my trick on how I create things. Let’s get started!

you will need

Wooden Spoon | Nail Polish | Wooden Plaque
decorative wooden spoonsRainbow Nail Polish

I am going to be honest, there was no specific pattern involved just pure excitement. I did want them to feel a little tribal | retro | whimsical | happy | colorful and that is exactly what I got. I was not planning on doing a black and white one until I put them together. I needed that to break the colors up, I think that was a smart choice.

how to paint on spoons

What colors will you be using? It would even look great as a whole set in one specific color/design. Now remember I did not coat them with anything because the nail polish gave me a great shiny finish.

painted spoons

I painted a piece of wood white and let that dry over night with the spoons. Once everything is dry you can then glue the spoons to the wood with the glue of your choice.
DO NOT EAT FROM THESE OR COOK WITH THEM. THESE ARE  JUST FOR DECORATIONS!
I made these for decoration purposes.

Big Glittery HUGS from me to YOU!

Help! I need your ideas to complete this temporary table in our kitchen. As you know we are remodeling pretty much our whole house little by little and we need to DESIGN THIS TABLE asap! I am doing something a little different right now. I am asking for your advice and I will choose my favorite tip given. Once I am done I will blog about the person’s idea I chose and show you the end result. Of course I could just paint it and call it a day but I am looking for FUN, UNIQUE, DIFFERENT ideas. Possibly something that is out of the box because we all know I don’t like following traditions. I will be keeping track of ideas given on all of my social media sites. Maybe in a week I will decide on something. I love all you to the glittered moon and back! I am super excited to hear your ideas.

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SUGGESTION IN THE COMMENT SECION BELOW HOW I SHOULD DESIGN THIS TABLE OR EMAIL ME: [email protected]

Whoa! It’s already flipping Friday. I can’t be the only person who wakes up on a Friday morning to realize the whole week flew by. I am usually lost as to what day it is and I can thank working from home for that. My birthday was two days ago and I am still getting so much love and support from the post I wrote. If you did not hear the big news I suggest reading it. I feel like I did when I was a senior in high school, 105 pounds. I mean, I don’t weigh that now but that is how much weight I feel is lifted. Poo Yi, that’s a lot huh! On to my DIY post of the day.

Today I will be showing you how to make washi tape magnets. This tutorial is so stinking easy you could do it in your sleep. Eh, not really but you get it. Let’s get it Jaderbugs! Check out my Spotify playlist that I listened to while working on this post!

washi tape magnets

I am very happy with they way they turned out. Personally I love putting everything on my fridge so I can never have enough magnets. The best part is you can use any color paper, fabric, glitter or tissue paper. It’s all up to you. I will be putting some up in my ETSY shop soon just in case you don’t have the materials to make or if you just don’t feel like making them. You should check out all of my new items that I just listed. Super cute!

you will need

Sticky Magnet Scissors | Glitter Ribbon

washi tape magnets

You can use any shade of ribbon that you like. The fun part is you can mix up your colors and have a variety on your fridge. Don’t stop on the fridge put these babies on your filing cabinet or on your face. I mean I don’t know about you but I am pretty magnetic. (shaking head here because I am ridiculous)

washi tape magnets

You can get these magnetic sheets anywhere. Seriously I bet the Dollar Store even has them but incase they don’t we can always depend on the trusty ole Wal-Mart. Kuddos Sam.

washi tape magnets

Get your ribbon and hold it in your hand. Observe each little glitter flake so you can feel really close to them. Tell them a story and maybe take them out for a walk, on a leash.

washi tape magnets

Peel the white sheet off of your magnetic sheet and just stick pieces of ribbon down. The magnet will be super sticky so no need for any glue. This is s perfect craft for kiddo’s too.

And there ya have it Jaderbugs. Your very own Washi Tape Magnets.  Who woulda ever thunk it. If this is something you personally don’t like I bet SOMEONE you know would love to get them. Pinky Promise!

Welp, that’s it. That is all the goodness I have for you today. Off to putting cubes of ice down my back cause it’s hot as hell here in Louisiana! See you in the next post!

blue-mason-jar-plant-food-containersI love jars, especially blue mason jars. Not the kind you painted blue but the limited-edition Ball Heritage Collection Pint Jars.  I went to Target and saw them on the end of an isle and they were screaming at me, saying “JADERBOMB…PLEASE COME BUY ME”.  I caved.  I love my plants so feeding them is mandatory. I only have one problem with the boxes the plant food comes in. Once you open the bag inside the moisture gets in and makes the food sticky and wet. Wanna see how I store my plant food?

I bought these paper doilies from Wal-Mart. You can let your little ones write on top of them. It is a fun way to help out plus they feel really involved.

Carefully pour the plant food into a jar.

Put the flat lid on top of the jar then place your paper doily directly on top of that. Screw the cap on. That’s it!

A super cute way to store your plant food. Another thing you can do is put packets of seeds in them. I mean it’s endless what you can do with these jems!

What will you do with your’s?
