Jewelry takes people’s minds off your wrinkles – Sonja Henie

Hey everyone! I am just getting back from the most amazing trip ever and I wanted to share this tutorial with you on making Color Blocked Gold Bracelets . I will be sharing more about the my trip later this week so make sure to come back and check it out!

If you are like me then you can sometimes be cheap! Very cheap!

I personally call it being “smart”, right. I found a set of gold bracelets a while back at Old Navy and bought them. Check out what I was REALLY doing there when I found them.  I wasn’t sure exactly what I would do with them but I knew I would figure it out and it would be RAD. If you like gold check out this cute gold flag banner I made for a cake.

I finally decided I wanted to add a splash of color to them. Finger nail polish is the best thing to apply to metal because it stays on for a LONG time. Let’s get started.Color Blocked Gold Bracelets How beautiful are these bracelets. I knew they would be a hit on my vacation and now I am madly in love with them. I think I need about 10 more on my wrist.

You will need:
1. Nail Polish

It doesn’t take too long for the polish to dry. In 10 minutes you can flip it over and do the other side. I like to do about 2 good coats  of each color. My goal is to give it a matte finish. how to paintYou can see below how it will look if you only do one side of the bracelet. Depending on the links I would decide if I wanted to do both sides on some of them. diy braceletsOne tip I have when storing bracelets is to sling them over the top of a really cool jar. You can find these at garage sales or vintage stores. Plus it looks really pretty. EASY KIDS CRAFTS

BIG HUGS TO ALL OF YOU GLITTERY CRAFTERS! XOXO, JADE

Whoa! It’s already flipping Friday. I can’t be the only person who wakes up on a Friday morning to realize the whole week flew by. I am usually lost as to what day it is and I can thank working from home for that. My birthday was two days ago and I am still getting so much love and support from the post I wrote. If you did not hear the big news I suggest reading it. I feel like I did when I was a senior in high school, 105 pounds. I mean, I don’t weigh that now but that is how much weight I feel is lifted. Poo Yi, that’s a lot huh! On to my DIY post of the day.

Today I will be showing you how to make washi tape magnets. This tutorial is so stinking easy you could do it in your sleep. Eh, not really but you get it. Let’s get it Jaderbugs! Check out my Spotify playlist that I listened to while working on this post!

washi tape magnets

I am very happy with they way they turned out. Personally I love putting everything on my fridge so I can never have enough magnets. The best part is you can use any color paper, fabric, glitter or tissue paper. It’s all up to you. I will be putting some up in my ETSY shop soon just in case you don’t have the materials to make or if you just don’t feel like making them. You should check out all of my new items that I just listed. Super cute!

you will need

Sticky Magnet Scissors | Glitter Ribbon

washi tape magnets

washi tape magnets

You can use any shade of ribbon that you like. The fun part is you can mix up your colors and have a variety on your fridge. Don’t stop on the fridge put these babies on your filing cabinet or on your face. I mean I don’t know about you but I am pretty magnetic. (shaking head here because I am ridiculous)

washi tape magnets

You can get these magnetic sheets anywhere. Seriously I bet the Dollar Store even has them but incase they don’t we can always depend on the trusty ole Wal-Mart. Kuddos Sam.

washi tape magnets

Get your ribbon and hold it in your hand. Observe each little glitter flake so you can feel really close to them. Tell them a story and maybe take them out for a walk, on a leash.

washi tape magnets

Peel the white sheet off of your magnetic sheet and just stick pieces of ribbon down. The magnet will be super sticky so no need for any glue. This is s perfect craft for kiddo’s too.

And there ya have it Jaderbugs. Your very own Washi Tape Magnets.  Who woulda ever thunk it. If this is something you personally don’t like I bet SOMEONE you know would love to get them. Pinky Promise!

Welp, that’s it. That is all the goodness I have for you today. Off to putting cubes of ice down my back cause it’s hot as hell here in Louisiana! See you in the next post!

“When I work 14 hours a day, seven days a week, I get lucky.” -Armand Hammer

Happy Sunday Jaderbugs. I have been seeing a huge increase on color blocking. It’s really huge in the fashion world and I am noticing a lot of home decor being color blocked. I think I have been doing this for years but didn’t realize it. Maybe I just can’t ever decide on a color so I put all the ones I love! Smart idea, not sure. I guess when people come over and they “oohh and ahhh” over things in our house I will take that as I am doing something right or interesting. Sheesh, maybe they don’t know what to say so “oohh and ahhh” is the only thing that can come out of their mouth, haha. (sucka punched)

So, for this particular tutorial I was totally inspired by my friend Meg Allan Cole. She is pretty amazing and anytime I am needing a smile I just head over to ANY of her sites. Here are a few that you have to check out.
*Her You Tube
*Her Blog
She just did a video on color blocking animals. No silly not real ones, haha. Little miniature ones to decorate her tree with. They turned out so flipping cute. Check them out HERE.
She totally inspired me to do this craft. Ashy bought me these set’s of keys years ago and can you believe they have been hidden for the last year or so. What can I say I go through different decorating phases at a time. I thought it would be perfect to give them a make over and bring them back into the public arena. I think they came out great, what about you?

You can color block anything! The possibilities are really endless. Let’s take a look at the tutorial.

If you are on Pinterest they have a really cool color blocking board by West Elm. Click HERE to follow it.

INGREDIENTS

*Brush
*Paint
*Masking tape
*Keys
*Whatever object you are using

(You can order all of the items I used in my tutorial by clicking on the links in the ingredients)

Glittered Keys

Colorblocked-Keys

The first thing you will do is tear a piece of masking tape and put it around your object in one spot. You want to create a strong separation of the colors. This will do it for you. Once you do this, start painting. I am only painting one end of my key but if you wanted to do the other end you would wait for the gold to dry, tape it off then paint the other end. It’s really that simple.

You could also put paint into a cup and dip your items.

Colorblocked-Keys

These are my keys now! They have a whole new look to them. I can display them again, yayyyyyy.

Colorblocked-Keys

I also color blocked these mini keys. I wanted to make them POP so I threw on some fun glitter!

Colorblocked-Keys

Then hung them from my cook book stand.

Colorblocked-Keys

I think they came out great! I am already thinking of what colors will be next to the gold. I think HOT pink and Chartreuse!

Don’t forget to check out Meg’s hot spots, you will be happy there I promise! {fine, pinky promise}

“What you can’t do in one day you must do in two.”-East Anglian Proverb

Happy Friday Jaderbugs! I couldn’t wait to share this amazing thing that happened yesterday. It is pretty awesome, at least for me it is. When I started my blog 2 1/2 years ago I never imagined it would end up defining me as a person. This blog, sorta saved me. It all started as a way to “show” the things I love. I had NO intention of ever having a DIY-Craft blog. Guess the Universe showed me, hehe.  I have always been crafty I just never realized that others could possibly enjoy the things I create as much as I do. I never understood this thing that my brain does. I can look at something and the thoughts just come flooding in. Sometimes they are so overwhelming that I have to jot them down just to remember them. If I don’t jot it down I feel like I might not ever think of it again. This is mainly how I create all of my crafts that I post on Jaderbomb. Don’t get me wrong, I get ton’s of inspiration from everything I encounter daily but I can’t ever stop thinking of ways to “change” things or simplify them. I love showing ways to use every day items to decorate your home with. There is something special that happens to a person when they see something beautiful that they made. It’s something a store bought item can’t ever give to you.

A few weeks ago I got an email from a friend asking if I wanted to be in an article about hosting a crafting party. Of course I said YES, while I was JUMPING all over the place. I didn’t know exactly what it was for or where it was going to be but I am down with anything crafty. The best thing is that I was able to do this with a good friend of mine, Lenore. She was the producer of my show when I was on Martha Stewart. Click here to check it out.

So here is the picture of the front page of Yahoo!Homes! I am SOOO excited you just can’t imagine! If you click on the picture below it will take you there. They featured my
Cotton Ball Garland and my Candy Decorations

See that shiny gold candy picture!

I feel so blessed and can’t wait to share with you more amazing things happening in Jaderbomb land! Enjoy this good read.

Well..It’s already that time of year and I sit here shaking my head in disbelief. I can’t believe it “really” is that time of year.

How did Thanksgiving already come and go? Have I been asleep all year? I remember when I was a kid I used to overhear my parents say things like ” Boy, time goes so quick the older we get”… What does that really mean? I get that times goes as fast but come on. Nobody ever said it would fly by quicker than you can digest the turkey you ate a few days ago.

To get in the spirit I will be making a lot of fun new Christmas Tutorials for you on here, sharing Christmas ideas, featuring other amazing Christmas crafts and kicking out some fun printable’s.

Do you ever walk around the stores WISHING you could buy everything because it all looks so good in that one spot at that exact moment. I am totally that person however over the years I transformed the way my brain thinks. I get that something I make will not have a “label” on it BUT it will prolly cost me 3/4 less and will be made the way I want it. Sometimes it’s hard to break something down in your head and re-make it. So I will be doing all of the dirty work (figuring the break down process) for you and posting it in easy steps.
I wanted to add a pop of color on my mantle in the living room so I thought mini Christmas trees would be perfect.

Yes, I was one of the crazy people out on black friday shopping. I only went to 2 stores though. One of the stores was Joanne Fabric  and craft store and there I purchases these little cardboard cones for around .75 cents.  (I know!!!) I know they sell these at any craft store so it should be easy to find. Let’s get started.

INGREDIENTS:

*Tinsel
*Cardboard Cone
*Glue Gun

TWhat I love the most about this craft is that you can get tons of garlands and make like 40 of these babies. I actually saw one like this in Albertson’s the other day and it was $39.00.  Granted the tinsel on those were a little fancy but I purposely wanted to use the “vintage” looking tinsel garland. It add’s a retro feel to the room.

The first thing you will do is add a little dot of hot glue on your cardboard cone.

Carefully start wrapping your garland around the cone.

Keep going until you get to the very bottom…..

VOILA! It’s that simple. The three cones may have cost me $3.00 and the garland was $3.99 at Wal-Mart. These look so cute on the mantle and I am proud that I took something that was WAY over priced and made it affordable and ridiculously cute.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, make sure to come back tomorrow to see some easy DIY Christmas tree decor.

Happy Thursday Jaderbugs!!!! I can’t believe the week flew by so fast. I literally feel like the week jumped in a plane and flew to the weekend. Don’t get me wrong. I am not knocking the weekend but that just means the summer is coming to an end. {tear}

You know when you are a little kid and you are waiting for all of the fun holidays like SUMMER, CHRISTMAS, YOUR BIRTHDAY  or NEW YEARS and it feels like it takes forever to get here. Then once it get’s here (for a kid) the holiday lasts forever . But to an adult it goes by faster than the blink of an eye… I miss that feeling.
Christmas  it’s almost here Jaderbugs. Well, not really but you get what I mean. In the next 40 blinks it will be. Am I the only one who is done Christmas shopping by October?

I started burning a Christmas candle the other day and lil one walked in the door and said “MOM, it smells like Christmas in here” {with an excited face}, then Ashy walked in and said “Why does it smell like Christmas in here” {with a confused face}. Then bestie walked in and said “Wow, it smells so cozy in here” {with a 5 year old face}.

Isn’t it Christmas in July, or something? Check out the candle I was burning here. I ended up eating this for supper that night. Guess it really did make me all warm and cozy.

Just wanted to do a “summer favorites” with you before summer is over! These are the things that are MANDATORY for me, DAILY! Especially this summer.

I will post all of the links below so you can find them really easy!

1.  Vitamin Water (ONLY acai-blueberry-pomegranate) Seriously. Warning, it stinks pretty bad but it won’t stink to your taste buds!

2.   St. Ives collagen elastin facial moisturizer  Listen Jaderbugs. I have been using this stuff for years and I swear I believe in it 100%. Plus, Dr. Oz said on his show that he believes it works. (haha, who cares what any Dr says, JADERBOMB says it’s good and that’s all that matters… hahaha)

3.  Xhilaration® Gold Metallic Backpack I know what your thinking. Who would wear a gold back pack. Duh, ME! I feel extra special when I wear this baby! You know the streets of New York will love this baby!

1.  Cheetah Flats All I will say about this is (l o lo lo lo veee eeeee l o lo l oooooooooo) yes I am singing this!!!! Plus they are very comfy!

2.  Black and White Really Jaderbugs, I am totally into these two colors this summer. Don’t get me wrong there is just something about topping off something or someone with black and white. Yes, I think pattern matters. I am totally digging big thick chunky stripes. Kinda was loving the typical chevron print but I like the BASIC! I think it is very classy! OH, and top this off with something GOLD. BAM!

3.  Quench Gum I know what your thinking.Who would chew this. Lemme tell you it’s the best ever! It has this twang to it and it’s so good! I get my stash from Academy but I am sure other sport’s stores have them.

4.  Gold Hoops These are an absolute MUST have for me. I wear them daily and you would wonder why if you saw my earring collection! I am surely into “classic” items that NEVER go out of style!

Well Jaderbugs! I hope you enjoyed seeing all of my favorite items that I have been using/wearing this summer! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow. I will be posting a tutorial on making chalk board sticky labels. Other things coming up this weekend:
Tie dyed shower curtain and how I dressed up a huge mirror!
