Design your own cell phone case

This weekend I woke up with the “grand” idea to cover my phone case.  What started that idea was the fact that my phone case was FULL of scratches and FULL of paint.  I know, your thinking, “well if you got your real case dirty why would you think you wouldn’t get this furry concoction dirty”.  Fact is I will. If you lived in my shoes a couple days you would see that dirty means GOOD. Dirty means PRODUCTION.  Dirty means, finding ways to constantly “cover” things up.  Ya know, sometimes I hate buying new clothes. It’s so pretty and clean. Those fibers have no idea what it’s like living in the life of an artist.  Well, someone has to do the dirty work {{right eyebrow lifting up REALLY high}}
p.s. if you go to your local craft store you can find every color you could possibly want.  I bough mine at Michael’s Arts and Crafts.
p.s. i like to do a little bit at a time so ensure it is put on well
p.s. just keep on wrapping all over the phone. good thing is if you mess up nobody will ever know because it all blends in.  make sure you don’t cover the spots where your “holes” are.
p.s. when you are almost done you will need to cut the “fur” where your camera lens is.
p.s. tadahhhh.. one BIG ball of love .. YES that is my phone faced down.  funny huh!!!
Sending you balls and balls of hot pink fur,
jaderbomb
P.S. Don’t forget to check out my 100 days of Martha Stewart countdown I am doing. It is a REAL fun project I took on! So fun, I am gonna do a new craft later tonight. Oh you ask. When do I have time to do ALL of this and have a REAL life.  Well, when you are all cozy in your beds at like 3 am… I am crafting.  ((teeheheh))

T-Shirt Bag

Happy Monday! I wonder if I am the only person in the world who sees Monday as a “fun-day”.  I can’t really list any reason why I think Monday is more fun than any other day but hey, it’s only 4 days away from the weekend! So, I guess it’s all how you look at it.  Due to something called LIFE I found it very difficult to get a craft done yesterday! I know, how could I disappoint all my jaderbugs like that! I promise I will make it all up to you one day, and I promise that it will be before the 100 days of Martha is over!

When I saw this craft I got super dooper excited! I am such a BAG freak it’s not even funny.
It’s not like I {{need}} more bags. Trust me, if you saw the variety of bags I have you would just stand in a awkward stance and shake your head back and forth… {bad thing is I am not sure how many times you would actually shake your head}. It’s kinda like that thing where you smell something bad and you KNOW it smells bad but you just have to smell it again. It’s like reassurance that it INDEED DOES SMELL BAD! That it’s not your mind playing tricks on ya or some sinus drip your smelling subconsciously. You would just shake your head over and over just to make sure SOMEONE sees how amazed your are by your “shake”… OK.  enough about being AMAZED!

This craft is REALLY affordable which is ALWAYS nice!!! So let’s get started! OH, and after I did this craft of course this “boring” brain just went to work overtime.  I am gonna post at a later date all the extra creations you can do with this awesome craft! Martha always knows how to get ya!
You could also use these for your groceries instead of using the plastic they give you.
very GREEN

p.s. all you will need is a sewing machine, some FABRIC shears ( i used pinking shears) and a bowl.
p.s. i used 2 different shirts just to show you a variety! ya know, this is a great way to “reuse” shirts that you LOVE but don’t wanna get rid of”
p.s. first thing you wanna do is flip the shirt inside out and sew the bottom part of it.
p.s.  i simply put a bowl down where your neck goes and just traced around the bowl with a pencil.  i only used half of the bowl.
p.s. next you want to cut over the line you just drew.
p.s. with the shirt still inside out you need to cut the sleeves off.
p.s. tadahhhhhhhh! how awesome are these babies. are you going through your shirts yet~~~
Sending you lot’s of T-Shirts cut up and made into bags,
jaderbomb

Homemade Heating Pad

Today we will be making a homemade heating pad. I think this is a great way to look cute and relax at the same time. It is very easy to do and only costs around $ 3.00. I know, that sounds absolutely CRAZY!!! But it’s true.
Some of the ingredients you will need are:
Bandana: $1.00 (Hobby Lobby/Local craft store)
Rice: $2.00 (Local grocery store)
and LOTS of LOVE~~

First thing you will do is hand wash your bandana to get some of the dye out and to take some of the stiffness out.

After you are done you will iron the bandana. This will make it really crisp and a lot easier to sew with.

When you are ready you lay the bandana face down (pretty side down/faded side up) you will fold in half twice. At this point you will be seeing the “wrong” side (faded side) of the bandana (or it will look inside out). You will sew at close as you can to the edge. I sewed about 1/4″ away from the edge. If you don’t have a sewing machine you can do this all by hand~ Remember, you only want to sew 3 sides. You will leave the top open so you can put the rice in.

As you can see it’s still inside out.
After you are done sewing, put your hand in the top you left open and pull it inside out. Once you do this, the edges will look clean and you will not see where you sewed.

Now it is time to fill with rice.
I used brown rice. However you can use any type/brand.

You can use a cup or your hand to put the rice inside.
The more rice inside the stiffer the heating pad will become.
I prefer my heating pad to be flexible,
this makes it easier to wrap on my aching or cold body parts.

When you are done stuffing your bandana with rice you will hand sew the side you left open. Make sure and sew it tight enough so the rice does not fall out.

And there you have it!!! Simple, Fashionable and CHEAP!~~

No-Sew Slipper Socks

Yes! It’s late! I am JUST getting to my blog! I am not sure where today went, I would hope it went down in history but eh….not too sure about that! Unless I would get an award for being stressed and cleaning! (whudduyah think)
I feel a little “uneventful” today!
But your craft is here at your command… (fist bumping)
This craft is totally fun! It was MAJOR easy and just think how awesome these will be as gifts for the holidays!

Some of the ingredients you will need are:
~Thick Socks
~Scrap piece of cardboard
~Pencil
~Sueded Fabric
~Fusible Webbing
~Iron
~Felt (optional)
~Buttons (optional)
~Needle and thread (optional)
~and lots of LOVE

To start off I just freehandedly cute out some organic shapes from the felt. You will not need them right now but it’s much easier later on in the project if they are already done.
(You can also choose the buttons you want, I never pick the same ones. It makes them more interesting). FYI: You do not need to do this if you want to make them simple and plain, or if you think the person your doing them for will not like this added effect.

Next step you want to do is put the socks onto your feet. Stand on a piece of cardboard, and trace both of your feet with a pencil; cut your cardboard along the lines that you just traced.
Remove the socks. You can use a marker or a sewing pencil to trace the templates onto the sueded fabric and fusible webbing, which is a material that bonds fabrics together. When you are done you will cut them out the same way you did with the cardboard.
When you are done with that you will slide the cardboard cutouts into the your sock, positioning them where you want to iron on new soles.
Place fusible webbing between your sueded fabric and sock’s sole; iron according to webbing directions.

As you can see all I did to spice up my sock is take my pieces of cut out felt and a button then sewed it at the top of my sock. VOILA….

End result!! FABULOUS RIGHT!!! They are super cute, super fun and super chic…..Don’t forget to send me pictures of yours!

CLIP ARTISTRY

Can you believe it’s 10 am and I am actually “starting” my craft for the day…..I am kinda impressed (patting myself on back)…I am trying to find a routine that works for this project. It’s very different knowing that no MATTER WHAT I have to put a craft out there each day. I am used to doing a craft every other day {{teeheheh}} and they are MY crafts…. BIG CHANGE HUH… NOT
I have not done original “jaderbomb” crafts at all since I started this Martha countdown but good news is in store.  I am doing one in the morning for you.. And just WAIT till you see how cute it is!! Your gonna FLIP!!! Yep you will get your daily dose of a jaderbomb craft…. I told ya I can’t get rid of my original ideas… Ready to craft!!!

BTW It’s 10 pm and I am just finishing (insert another tired but pleased with the craft face)
p.s. these are your ingredients…I used wrapping paper instead of card stock….
p.s. just outline your board with a pen or marker (make sure you outline on the side you will not be showing)

p.s. then simply cut out your shape!
p.s. coat your clip board with ALOT of Mod Podge… Then place your paper down. I used a debit card to get out all the bubbles. (don’t press too hard or your paper will rip)…Then add a coat of Mod Podge to the top
p.s. on the front you want to cut out the top so you can see your clip.  this is really simple!
p.s. HOW CUTE IS THIS BABY!!!

Listen, as I was doing this craft my mind went to the moon and back!!! I just kept thinking of all the cute things I could do with this!! Stay tuned because I will be doing something REALLY fun with ALOT of these suckers!!
Ya’ll I had so much fun with ya tonight (tee hee)

Sending you LOTS of “roarsss” from the wall paper,
jaderbomb

How to make a Cutout Night Ligh

I know it’s totally late and you are thinking “hey, what happened to jaderbomb’s craft today”… Right??!?
Well I guess all I can say is, it’s not midnight yet!! LOL
I have to get kinda mushy tonight/today and tell you no matter how hectic my day is I WILL FINISH THIS PROJECT…. After all, I AM doing what I love!  I have been blogging for about 2 years now. My brain is CONSTANTLY thinking of new things to come up with. This has totally been an outlet that has changed my life.  I have a busy life! I know everyone does. Please don’t take this as complaining because I would not have it any other way. I just want to tell you that I am so dedicated to this “project”….. Why is it a project? Well because it’s something I “HAVE” to do [[in my head]] and if I don’t then I have FAILED…..I know. That is a pretty big word. But it is time consuming and I really put alot of pride in my work, so the end result is very important to me!
Just know that even though it’s almost 11 p.m. at night and I am just finding time to myself I will do my blog if it’s the last thing I do. {{ i mean, supper is on the stove cooking for tomorrow night as I finish editing and writing all of this}}
insert tired eyes teeheheh
I can’t really explain the JOY I feel when I am crafting. Is there anyone else who feels like that? It’s like…..breathing.  I can’t remember a day my brain was NOT thinking of crafts!!! It’s kinda fun for me to {{{come up with things that I have not seen before}}}…..and I am sure you enjoy it too!
ok. enough musheeee…LET”S CRAFT….We can’t let Martha down!
p.s. you will need card stock and a hole puncher (used for eyes)
p.s. glossy mod podge is AWESOME even though I would recommend using the glitter one (you know I love glitter)… and you will need a brush!
p.s. this craft bond is glue that you can spray onto things and on the right is a VERY SHARP x-acto knife (you can find these at your local craft store)
p.s. OK… the only thing I am “tweeking” about this Martha Stewart project is THIS  LAMP… It “calls” for a night light but I just wanted to do a lamp.   Boy am I happy!!!
p.s. i printed out both because i just couldn’t pick!! make sure you cut on something that will not harm your knife or whatever is below it! MAKE SURE YOUR KNIFE IS SHARP or you will get jagged edges!
p.s. look how precious they look after you cut them out! sorry if mine were not perfect, i was kinda having difficulties with my “knife not being sharp enough” … the leaves go in the INSIDE of the shade as does the baby koala. You will see it on the template
p.s. even though you are coating with mod podge you need the back to be really secure onto the surface it is going on!
p.s. OMG! these are so cute! I had to turn off the lights and try to get a good picture of how it looks as a “night light”.. I am so pleased! I added a little glitter to the top of my tree to add a little sparkle!

I have to say OVERALL this project was FUN! The only thing that I had to do over and over was cutting out the shapes. They are really tiny and my knife sucked was not the best. PLEASEEEE not to rush in order to finish this craft because you really want clean crisp edges. Once everything is cut out and glued on you want to coat over the image with mod podge.

Sending you koala’s to ride on your back all night long,
jaderbomb
