(p.s. before you read this. I wrote it last night, but fell asleep typing)

Happy hump day Jaderbugs. I always feel weird saying that but I also can’t help it. Right?!
This post is gonna be sorta short and sweet (like candy) because I had a full day and I am just getting to my computer! I sorta love day’s like this. You know, those day’s where ALOT get’s done.

Lately I have been “slowing” down a little bit. I can’t lie to you. That is very hard for a person like me as I am sure it is for many of you too! I like to go, go, go. You know how that is right? We tell ourselves there is “never” enough time in the day. What we are doing is telling the UNIVERSE there isn’t enough time and they are giving us exactly that. As a blogger it is sometimes hard to pry my fingers away from ONE of our computers. It’s my job. I have been putting my phone down after 6 pm until EVERYONE is asleep in the house. Then I let my fingers get back to work. Try it! It feels good!

I had so much fun with this mirror. A while back it was white and I painted it this color to spruce it up. I felt it needed just a little bit more! All I did was use paint, brushes, and sponge stamps. You can do whatever colors you like because after all, it’s gonna be your creation…

If you wanna see more of me find me here:

Make sure and send me any pictures you have of your updated WHATEVER!! (hehe)
You never know, I just might feature you on the Jaderbomb blog.

Happy Monday Funday Jaderbugs! I know. You are probably wondering how is it even possible to be so excited at the beginning of each blog post. Is it real? Am I REALLY that excited to write this post for you. YES! There are a few things in life that actually make me instantly smile, this is one!

I could not wait to post this today because I have been talking about doing this for so long now! I’ve tweeted about it, researched it and it’s finally going down.

I know we all see these amazing pictures on pinterest of the “perfect” stripes and the “perfect” decorations. Shoot’s I have even overheard people talking about doing this but they want to wait until they have all the right furniture and decorations to go with this look. My question to you is…

WHY WAIT!

Enjoy your black and white stripes now! After all, you might “think” your walls are not ready for it but I am sure they are screaming inside for them. After hearing my walls scream for a few months I figured it was finally their moment to shine.

You will need :
 Paint
 Painter's tape
 Laser Level
 Pencil
 Ladder
 Painting Brush
 Lot's of Love

See how bare our walls are! In case you are wondering about that picture over our bed. Yes. It’s a picture of ME! A really big one. I wish you could see it up close because I drew it with pastels, laminated it, built the wood background, painted a little bit on the wood, wrote a little bit on it and then coated it with RESIN. Did I mention Ashy helped with the building the wood background? Let’s just say she did that part.

Amazing right.

Plus, Ashy insisted on putting it over the bed. She said it looked beautiful, how sweet. I can’t lie it is weird looking at myself over the bed. Now that I am thinking of it, I have a few self portraits in our room. (haha)

Ashy started by using this laser level to draw the lines onto the walls.
Bestie’s mom got her this and she is in love with it. So far my best piece of advice is to get one of these. Especially if you want strait lines. I don’t think they are expensive.
The cool thing is you can see if it’s level and it suctions onto the wall so you can actually draw or tape up the line (incase you are doing alone).  I’m not one for power tools but HELLOOO suction cup baby!

Now, this is the tricky part. The tape. You want to measure the wall you are painting from top to bottom. K. Then you can start playing around with numbers. You will divide the width of the stripes by the total length of the wall. The number you get when you do this will be the amount of stripes you will have on that wall.  Remember, your stripes might be smaller or bigger than mine. It just depends on how many stripes you want. If you want a lot of stripes then the width of them will be very small. I like chunky ones, they make me smile…

For example my wall was 105″. My stripes were 10.5″. So I divided that and it gave me the number 10. This is including the white and black stripes. It’s actually pretty easy once you start playing with the numbers!

Oh and when you first put your tape up, it will look visually cray cray to to you! Your gonna be like. whoa!
Which one is which? Where do I paint? I’m confused! These are not right! If you see the picture above with the arrows pointing to the tape, this is what I mean. I just looks smaller but the width is from the edges I put the arrow on. Got it?

If you need help or have questions just email me and I can help ya, [email protected].

You know I am using Martha Stewart paint. This line is discontinued but I still have some that they sent me! What can I say. It’s a product I trust.
Don’t you just love the name of this color. Francesca.
That’s one of her dog’s incase you didn’t know. Check our Francesca’s blog here.

I took this picture just so you can get a visual of what it will look like when you peel the tape off. If you have some paint that sneaks out under the tape just touch it up when it’s dry.   Are you in love yet!

If you are like me then you will get super excited at some point. I did this boo boo. I was so excited to see the end result I just started painting. Thanks ADD for doing this! HAHA

I want to put “STRIPES” on every wall now! I told Ashy this and she just looked at me. But she did say it came out good and she loved it. Just think about it. You don’t need dark stripes all of the time.

Dark grey wall+Shade lighter gray stripes
Pretty pink wall+lighter pink stripes

You getting my drift Jaderbugs! I really look’s classy… If you do this project please post pictures on my Facebook wall so I can check it out! You never know! I might just feature ya on the Jaderbomb blog.

Happy Saturday Jaderbugs!

I know I mentioned in a previous post that I was gonna share everything that happened at BlogHer12. I still am. Don’t let this little instagram video fool ya. I have TON’S of pictures that I took with the “real” camera but wanted to do my weekly instagram still. We had so much fun and I met ton’s of amazing people.

Some people in the slide show are Martha Stewart,  Karen from The Graphics Fairy, Missy from Bitten and Bound, Darcy Miller from Martha Stewart Weddings, Sarah Carey from Everyday Foods, Kathy/Crafty Chica, Haley from the Zen of making, Jenny from Craft Test Dummies, Simone from Spazzgirl, Margaret Cho, and Jennifer from Hydrangea Hippo.

I can’t wait to share my tutorial’s this week. They are surely fun and fun. (I know I said that twice but that’s how I feel about them).

Sometimes I wonder if I am the only one who is MADLY addicted to instagram. Thinking of addicted. I think I am addicted to my phone too. Who isn’t these days!!!

See ya in the next post Jaderbugs!
OH! One more thing. I am adding something new to my weekly posts. Can you guess?

OUTFIT OF THE DAY.

I will start with doing this once a week, on Friday’s. I am really excited because I love fashion but I never thought to share it with my Jaderbugs. I can’t wait because I will be showing you fun things you can do with things you “prolly” already have.

Off to the video!

See you in the next post!

What is your FAVORITE instagram filter?

Seriously. HOW. COOL.ARE THESE.

With all of the excitement and  preparation for Blog Her 12 I forgot to post this baby! I am telling you my mind is going bonkers lately! We have this canister in our bathroom that I keep bath salts in. I am ALWAYS changing the scent of the salts so I wanted to put something on the canister that displayed what was in it. I didn’t want anything PERMANENT so after a little bit of thinking I though this would be cool.

Do you realize how much you can do with these labels! They are perfect for canisters in your kitchen, notebooks or gifts! How cute would it be if you would make these labels and put them on your christmas gifts you give out. You can write the name of person it is for! If you do something like that but your scared it would get wiped off, spray it with hairspray after. It will seal the chalk!

Let’s get started!

INGREDIENTS:

I got my address labels from Office Depot .  They are fun and bright! Check out what else I made using these labels here!

First thing you want to do is start painting your labels. I just painted the entire sheet. It is worth it in the end! After they dry, just peel the off and stick them where you want them! Yep, Jaderbugs… It’s that easy!!!

This is what my face looks like before it sees NEW YORK! I know, it doesn’t look that excited but it IS!

Guess who I will be seeing while I am there…..I will give you a few names so you can feel as excited as I am!!!!

1. Martha Stewart
2.  Katie Couric
3. Margaret Cho

I know, I am just as excited as YOU! I will be doing LIVE tweeting using hash tag #blogher12
Can’t wait to see my Graphic Fairy!

See ya in the city that doesn’t sleep [living my dreams everyday],

PERSONALIZE YOUR PENS

Happy Tuesday Jaderbugs!!!! You know what happens tonight right?!?!?

CRAFT WARS!!! (click on link)

If you have not seen it yet, you “must” make it priority! It’s great to finally see a craft show on television!

MORE CRAFT, LESS PAWN…haha

One of my fellow blogger’s WHIPPY CAKE posted a fun picture of her pens she “personalized” the other day on instagram. I just knew I had to do a TUTORIAL on it for all of my Jaderbugs! Check out her  Etsy shop!  She sells out of things really quick!!! So hurry and check her out!

I thought this was a great idea and wanted to show you how to make it. It’s really not that hard but people like me LOVE “STEP BY STEP” tutorials! I know some of you will be going to BlogHer soon and this would be PERFECT for that!

How cute is this! It’s like they are saying “Hey I am cold in here, grab me a scarf”

You will only need a few ingredients for this project. {insert a big ole YAYYYY}

Let’s get started.

INGREDIENTS:

I used washi tape for this. You can buy it online here  or sometimes they will have decorative tape at your local craft stores! I promise this stuff can become addicting! I purchased the one I am using from Michaels Craft store.

First thing you will do is cut a piece of tape and wrap it around pen. Make sure you stick both ends together evenly.

After you do that, get out your scissors and cut a letter V in it.

Tadaahhhh! It’s that simple. In no time you can personalize all of your pens. Shoot’s, if you live a in a house like I live in pens go missing really quick! The key is putting pretty, pretty tape on them. Well, we will see because that might actually be a hit!

or NOT!

I hope you are all having a great morning and see ya tomorrow for another fun new craft! Giveaway coming soon so stay tuned!!!!

Sending you loads of love and washi tape hugs,

OK. I got this product in the mail from Craft Test Dummies and did a review of it. You know I will tell ya like it is on my blog, right? I review a lot of products and it’s not in my nature to dog any (at least not on the blog)… Some products are “ehhh” ya know…and some are “AYYYYYYY” ya know!!!

ehhhh = I wouldn’t buy it with my own money because ehhhh it ‘s not that great.

AYYYYYYY= YOU NEED THIS!!!!

Silk Acrylic Glazes….Well this product is AYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
(click on the link above and you can order some)

I could not believe how amazing this glaze was! I tried it on paper and it so shiny but put it on wood and the BOOM CHAKA LAKA. You know how paint on wood works right? You put one coat and it pretty much covers the wood completely. Well this glaze is so cool because you can layer it on top of other colors and it blends so PERFECT! I like that it doesn’t dry super duper fast allowing time to blend certain colors together.

Let’s get started so we can make THIS:

INGREDIENTS:

I got to choose my colors that were sent to me and  I was so pleased with the colors I picked! I was sorta unsure because I typically go for BRIGHT, SHINY, BOLD or PINK colors! hahaha

They have a light feel to them. They are almost translucent when you put your first coat on but once you add a few layers the magic happens.

I started by going with the grain of the wood. I just added darker colors near edges and lighter colors every where else. Remember cracks and holes are where the darker shadows are so if you are wanting it to look a little natural keep that in mind.

Remember how I told you earlier to blend your colors together? This is what I meant. Are you drooling yet! The colors are so rich!

My hooks were white and I just spray painted them black.  Now, you might be using different color’s than I used so white might work for you. I bought these hooks at Target. If you don’t have these glazes but you want a similar effect, water down some paint and apply them in light layers. It WILL NOT look completely like this but you could totally get it close.

I promise, these are worth the money and if you used paint first then these you would TOTALLY see the difference!

When you are done with painting, you need to spray it with a sealer. I love Martha Stewart’s Gloss Enamel spray. You can get it at Michael’s or anywhere else her products are sold. It kinda dries with a flat finish so if you want a shiny finish throw some Mod Podge on top of the wood.

I hope you enjoyed this fun tutorial! Come back tomorrow to see how I made CONFETTI SOAP!
